1. forest ['fɔrist] n.森林, 丛林, 山林

a thick forest 茂密的森林

2. risk

1) n. 危险，风险

risk of sth …的风险

run the risk of doing sth 冒做某事的风险

/take the risk of doing sth

take the risk of sth 冒…的风险

eg. We should think of the risks of the plan. 我们应该考虑这个计划的风险。

eg. We can’t run the risk of losing all our money. 我们不能冒失去所有钱财的风险。eg. We can’t get rich without taking risks. 你不冒险是不能致富的。

2) v. 使（自己或某人）面临危险

risk one’s health 冒失去健康的危险

risk one’s fortune. 冒失去钱财的危险

adventurous [æd'ventʃərəs] adj.爱冒险的；大胆的；敢做敢为的；充满危险的3. picnic ['piknik] n. 郊游, 野餐（尤指旅途中）

eg. We went on a picnic at the beach. 我们在海滩上野餐。

/We went on a picnic to the beach.

eg. Let’s go for a picnic. 我们去野餐吧。

be no picnic 有困难或有麻烦

eg. Bring up a family when you are out of work is no picnic.

possess [pə'zes] v. own, have 拥有，持有

eg. He decided to give away everything he possessed and became a monk.

be possessed by sth 被（迷住），支配，被控制

eg. She was suddenly possessed with fear.

/ She was suddenly possessed by fear.

她突然被恐怖的气氛包围了。/她突然感到害怕。

possessor [pə'zesə]: owner ['əunə] 所有人，持有…的人

possession [U] 领有，持有，具有ownership

in possession of sth 占有，控制

eg. They were in possession of the ball for most of the match. 比赛大部分时间他们控制着球。eg. With the bag in their possession, they ran away. 他们拿起包跑了。

6. breath[breθ] n. 呼吸

breathe [bri:ð] v. 呼吸

breath n. 气息，呼吸

hold one’s breath 屏住呼吸
