并列连词
表示词，短语， 从句或句子之间具有并列关系。 可以表示平行关系，转折关系，选择关系 和因果关系。
1. and
(1) and 和；与；及；同；并 Time and tide wait for no man . 时不我待。(and表示并列) Everything ought to be beautiful in a human being: face，and dress，and soul， and ideas. (2) and 然后； 接着 They shook hands and began to talk at once. He came and sat down and spoke to me.
8. as well as
除……之外；既……又；与……一样；和 On Sundays， his landlady provided dinner as well as breakfast. Hiking is good exercise as well as fun. In theory as well as in practice，the idea is unsound. He would like to go as well as you.
13. neither...nor...
既不……也不……； ……和……都不 Neither Mary nor Tom came to our party yesterday. He neither drinks nor eats meat.
注意
1.由or, either…or, neither…nor, not… but…, not only…but also等连接的并列成分作主语时，其谓语通常要与靠近的主语保持 一致。 He or I am in the wrong.
2. but
(1) but 但是；可是；然而 She wants to go to college but her parents want her to get married. The car is very old but in good condition. (2) but(用于否定结构后)而(是) not… but… Virtue dwells not in the tongue but in the heart. He didn’t come to help，but to hinder us. 他不是来帮忙，而是来阻碍我们的。

从属连词
用来引导连接主句和从句的连词。 分为引导名词性从句的连词和引导状 语从句的连词。
1. 引导时间状语从句的从属连词
(1)when, while, as, whenever 表示“当…时候”或“每当” He jumped up when the phone rang. We listened while the teacher read. The phone rang just as I was leaving. (2) before, after 表示“在…之前(或之后)” Turn the lights off before you leave. He started the job soon after he left the university.
Neither you nor he is tired.
Not you but I am to blame.
Either my father or my brothers are coming.
Not only the students but also their teacher is enjoying the film.

9. as well (也,而且,) 用于句末.

10. both...and...
和……（两者）都； 不仅……而且； 既……又 Both Mary and Peter are washing the dishes. Mary both washes the dishes and dries them.
11. not only...but also...
不但……而且…… He plays not only the piano，but also the violin. He can speak not only English, but also French.
12. either...or..
或……或……；要么……要么……；不是……就是…… Either come in or go out. He is either drunk or mad. The criminal refused to either speak or eat.
(3) and 而且；还；又 I know that he has been arrested and that he is in prison. Shute is healthy and handsome. (4) and 那么；则 Come early and you will see him. Try again and you will succeed.

(3) 表示“自从”或“直到”的时间连词。主要的有since, until, till：
He has lived here since he got married. Most men worked until [till] they’re 65.
(4) 表示“一…就”的时间连词。主要的有as soon as, the moment, the minute, the second, the instant, immediately, directly, instantly, once, no sooner…than, hardly…when等： Tell him the news as soon as you see him. I recognized her the moment (that) I saw her. I want to see him the minute (that) he arrives. I went home directly I had finished work. Once he arrives, we can start.

2.当用作主语的成分后面跟有由but, except, besides, including, like, with, as well as, as much as, no less than, along with, in addition to, combined with, rather than, together with等引出的短语时，谓语动 词习惯上要与这些结构前面的主语保持一致（即与比较远的那个主 语保持一致，简称“就远原则”）。

(1) or 或；或者；还是 He must be mad or drunk. (2) or 否则； 要不然 Be quick，or it may be too late. Do not move， or you are a dead man.不要动，不然要你的命。 (3) or(用于否定句) 也不 He never smokes or drinks.
