Ladies and gentlemen, I am very glad to have this chance to join this speech contest. My name is Lai Ziqian. I am from Class Three Grade Seven. I love English very much, so with this opportunity, I want to tell you all how much I love English. And the topic of my speech is “I love English”.

As everyone knows, English is becoming more and more important due to the globalization and has been used everywhere in the world. Besides, it has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. It can be said that if we can speak English well, we will have more chance to succeed.

But for myself, I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness, but because of my love for it. When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking. And this gives me more room to touch the world. When I read English novels, I can feel the pleasure from the book. When I speak English, I can feel more confident from my words. When I write English, I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...

I love English, because it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different countries. With my good English I can communicate with English spoken people at any times, any places. With my good English I can even get a good job in foreign countries. Of course I can appreciate many places of interest more easily.

The most things worthy with my pride is that I can use my good English to introduce our culture and good places to those English spoken people, making them have a good understanding of Chinese culture. I hope that they can love our country like us.

All in all, Learning English brings me a lot of happiness. Thought I will meet many difficulties and sometimes it is boring to remember a lot of words and phrases, I can always find out many interesting ways to get rid of them.
