Unit 11 Could you please tell me where the restrooms are?
一、教学目标
1. 知识目标
(1) 掌握下列重点单词:
restroom, shampoo, department store, escalator, magic, fresh, block, uncrowded, water slide, clown, staff, organized, dress up, lend, direct, wonder, lead, trouble, offend, hand in.
(2) 掌握并运用下列重要短语:
on the second floor, hang out, take a vacation, water slide, dress up, exchange money, both …and…, a good place to eat, lend sb sth/lend sth to sb, hand in, in a way, lead in, in order to, depend on, turn left/right.
(3) 掌握并运用下列重点句型:
Excuse me. Do you know where I can exchange money?
Sure, there is a bank on the second floor.
Take the escalator to the second floor and turn right.
Could you tell me how to get to the post office?
Could you please tell me if there are any good museums in Newtown?
Could you please lend me your pen?

三、教学方法
小组合作探究,引导学生观察、比较、归纳。让学生在用中学,提高学生综合运用英语的能力。
四、教学流程
I. 复习热身
1. 值日生报告
报告的内容必须紧扣本单元话题(Talk about the topic: Could you please tell me where the restrooms are ?)。学生对值日生的报告进行讨论,并对报告者提出的问题积极发表自己的意见,畅所欲言。

II. 基础回顾
1、words and expressions
1) 学生复习86—93页的生词(restroom, shampoo , department store, escalator, magic, fresh,
block, uncrowded, water slide, clown, staff, organized, dress up, lend, direct, wonder, lead, trouble, offend, hand in.)等,做到会读、会写,小组成员相互检查,组长统计单词过关率并向老师报告。
2) 学生通读整个单元(回扣课本),让每个小组总结出本单元的重点短语和句式结构,每个小组推荐一名同学向全班报告,教师帮助归纳、总结并板书。引导他们进行横向、纵向整合。然后小组合作探究,利用重点短语造句,小组之间展开竞赛,看看哪个小组造句多、快、好。

2、Grammar
小组成员讨论并总结本单元话题询问方向、指点方向和语法规律,最后做巩固练习。
1) 询问方向的句型:
Excuse me .Do you know where I can buy some shampoo?
Could you tell me how to get to the post office?
Could you please tell me where I can get a dictionary?
Can you tell me where Center Street is?
Can you tell me where there’s a good place to eat?
Could you please tell me if there are any good museums in Newtown.

2) 指点方向的句型:
Go straight along/ down…Turn right /left at the second crossing.
Take the second turning on the right/left. Take the escalator to the second floor.
