1. M: It’s too difficult for me to keep up with my classmates.

W: Y ou should study harder, I’m afraid.

2. M: I’d like to drive to the concert, but my brother has the car tonight.

W: Who needs a car? We can take the subway if we go a little earlier.

3. M: Excuse me, can you tell me how I can get to the Government Building?

W: Of course. Go straight for two blocks, and then look to the right.

4. M: Do you write to your husband or send him e-mails to keep in touch with him?

W: I neither write to him nor e-mail him. I ring him up now and then.

5. M: Are you going to Canada or Mexico during your winter vacation?

W: Well, I don’t enjoy cold weather at all, and Canada is freezing at winter time. But Mexico is cool and nice, I think.

W: It’s almost vacation time. Have you found a summer job yet?

M: I suppo se I can work at the boy’s camp where I worked last summer.

But camp jobs don’t pay much.

W: I think I can get a job at the Edgewater Hotel. A friend of mine was a waiter there last summer.

The pay wasn’t good, but he got lots of tips.

M: My sister worked there last summer; making beds a nd cleaning bathrooms, she didn’t like it, but she earned quite a lot of money.

W: A friend of my sisters did that one summer.

M: What I want is a job outside. After sitting i n college classes all winter; I’d like a job in the open air.

W: The high school kids earn a lot of money every summer cutting grass. My brother is only fourteen, but he gets five doll ars every time he cuts somebody’s grass, and it only takes him an hour. He just rides around on the machine that he bought, and the machine does all the work. M: That’s pretty good. I used to cut grass when I was in high school. But now I thought I might work for a road-building company, or something like that.

W: It would be good experience. You could earn a lot, too.

Welcome to Forest Hall Shopping Center. With over two hundred stores it is one of the biggest indoor shopping center in the country. All our shops are open until half past nine this evening. Customers with children up to the age of 10 will find the children’s room downstairs next

to the lifts. Y ou can leave children there and do your shopping alone. Ladies, you can see the newest summer clothes today in Palmer’s shop. They are holding a fashion show at two o’clock. If you are tired after all that shopping and want something to eat or drink, go along to North Square. There are a lot of different eating places, from cheap snack to expensive restaurants. If you want to sit down for a bit longer, the Forest Cinema in South Square has eleven different films for you to choose from. Have a nice day at Forest Shopping Center.
