The robot was equipped with a hidden camera, thus Larry knew everything that had happened in the past three weeks. On the one hand, he was thankful to the robot for providing an elegant house for them. On the other hand, he was jealous because Tony was too intimate to Claire. He thought while the robot was fantastic it still needed some improvement.

Teaching Design Satisfaction Guaranteed一.教学对象分析本课教学对象为高二学生,在英语方面具备一定的基础,对英语学习有比较强的欲望和兴趣,智力发展趋于成熟,他们已逐渐形成用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力。

根据《普通高中英语课程标准(实验)》“建立新的外语教育教学理念……建立多元、开放的英语课程评价……”的精神,采用活动教学法实施课堂教学,关注学生语言技能、语言知识、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识等素养的培养。

因此本课教学的重点之一是培养学生如何用英语思维和表达的习惯,使学生学会把语言学习与现实生活和兴趣结合起来,提高实际运用语言的能力。

通过任务型的课堂活动和学习,使学生能主动参与到课堂活动中来,成为课堂的主体,提高自主学习和合作学习的能力。

二.教材内容分析本单元的话题是机器人,文学作品中的机器人以及科幻小说作者——阿西莫夫。

当我们谈起机器人的时候,人们多会想到是科幻小说,童话故事,卡通故事等。

但是机器人已经在我们现实生活中发挥着巨大作用,它们被广泛应用于工农业生产及军事等领域。

许多机器人在家中做繁杂的家务,甚至代替人类从事一些危险的工作。

本单元介绍了不同种类的机器人,本节课是本单元的第二课时,学生在warming up中已经对机器人有所了解了。

但是学生脑中的机器人多停留在小说、电视或者电影当中。

Reading部分是根据科幻小说作家——阿西莫夫的故事改编的。

在这个故事里非常具有人类智能的机器人托尼,来到主人公克莱尔家之后,帮助她做家务并帮她解决了一些难题。

托尼不仅提高了她家的家庭品位并且提高了她自身的形象,致使克莱尔对他产生了复杂的感情。

这完全不同于一般的对机器人的描写,而是把它上升到一个人工智能的高度——机器人对人类感情的影响。

学生对于这样的话题还是很感兴趣的,因此如何引导学生思考机器人从科幻小说中的想像到现实生活中的应用,以及将来机器人的发展显得尤为重要。

选修6第二单元第一课时阅读教学设计Satisfaction Guaranteed一、教学课型:阅读课(45分钟)二、教材分析1.教学内容:Reading: Satisfaction Guaranteed.2.教材处理:课文是Isaac Asimov写于1951的科幻小说Satisfaction Guaranteed。

文中描述的机器人Tony是一个除去面无表情外,身材高大,相貌英俊,他来到Claire 家,帮助她做家务,为她排忧解难,不但使她的家变得有更有品味,同时也帮助Claire克服心理上的障碍,重塑自身形象。

更不可思议的是,仅三周的时间Tony 就让女主人坠入爱河。

故事细致入微地描写了Claire矛盾恍惚的内心世界,栩栩如生地描绘了Tony某些富于人性化的细节,这种亦幻亦真的故事情节充分反映了科幻作品的独特魅力。

故事篇幅较长,学生要在45分钟内完成阅读任务有一定的难度。

在新的英语学科培养目标的要求下,英语阅读对于提升学生的核心素养,将会起到关键性作用。

本文以人教版选修7 Unit 2 “Satisfaction Guaranteed”的阅读教学设计为例,探究在高中英语阅读教学中培养学生思维品格的途径和课堂实践。

根据2017版《普通高中英语课程标准》,英语学科核心素养主要包括语言能力、思维品质、学习能力、文化意识四个方面。

思维是指人们在生活、学习、工作中每次遇到问题要思考,要“想一想”,这种思考和“想”,就是思维。

思维有直观形象思维和抽象思维,前者主要是指依赖直观动作或形象进行的认知活动,后者是指在表象、概念的基础上进行的分析、综合、概括、判断、推理等认知活动。

思维品质,指人的思维的个性特征,反映其在思维的逻辑性、批判性、创造性等方面所表现的水平和特点。

英语学科的思维品质体现了英语学科核心素养的心智特征,强调学生能够通过英语学习进行信息推理、信息概括、分析信息的逻辑关系及正确理性地建构自己的观点,表达自己的观点,逐步形成自己的情感态度与价值观。

一、高中英语阅读教学存在的问题1.阅读课教学方法单一。

受到教学理念、课时、应试教育等多方面因素的影响。

许多阅读课存在教学方法局限,浅层教学突出的问题。

教师将更多的时间花在对语言、词汇、语法知识的教授和掌握上,并没有依托语篇所蕴含的思想、情感、哲理,搭建学生深层阅读的平台,这样的阅读,没有唤起学生内心和作者的情感共鸣。

【关键词】小说;文本解读;教学设计;欣赏角度本文是由著名科幻小说作家艾萨克·阿西莫夫写的小说改编的科幻故事。

文章讲述了机器人托尼细心照顾帮助女主人克莱尔,使她克服心理上的障碍,重塑自身形象,而克莱尔也因此对他产生了感情上的依恋。

文章结构很清晰,总体上可以分为托尼来克莱尔家之前,在她家期间,以及离开她家之后三个部分。

重点部分在中间,描述托尼如何帮助克莱尔以及克莱尔对他感情的变化过程。

这个变化过程以时间为主线。

文章叙述克莱尔从排斥托尼到信任他再到依恋他的过程运用了很多形容词和动词描绘她内心的变化。

在解读文本的基础上,结合具体学情,将本课定位为侧重语言欣赏的阅读课,制定教学目标1 教学目标After the class, the students will be able to(1)(Knowledge Object)get the main idea of the text and grasp the structure of the article by dividing all the paragraphs into three parts and giving gist of each part.(重点)(2)(Ability Object)describe the character of Claire and the change of her feelings towards Tony by finding out some words and sentences and summarizing.(重点,难点)(3)(Morality Object)develop an interest in science fiction, use their imagination and start to appreciate English literary work.2 教学过程如表1所示。

【教学流程设计】
环节一。

热身运动,导入主题
Enjoy a group of pictures of robots, and discuss their usage. (industrial robots and household robots) The teacher shows the pictures and students guess what they are, what they do and give their opinions.
追问:What is special about Asimove’s robot?
Do you think it’s possible for a human-like robot to have feelings? And would it be possible for a human to fall in love with robots?
(设计意图)因为这是一个关于机器人的故事,所以在导入部分自然
地用机器人的话题导入。

在图片部分,展示了工业用机器人和家庭用机
器人甚至最近几年出现的仿真机器人伴侣等。

这些机器人引起了学生的
极大兴趣,并且在机器人伴侣这个环节,提问学生这样的机器人是否有
情感,人类是否会爱上这种仿真机器人伴侣,这与阅读内容相呼应。

环节二。

阅读前两段,回答三个问题
1.Why did the couple bring a household robot in their house?
2.What attitude did Claire take towards the idea that
the robot would go to their house? Why?
3.How did Claire feel at the sight of Tony? Why?
(设计意图)了解故事发生的背景及女主人公初次听到消息和初次看
到机器人的态度,这也为后面处理女主人公感情变化这条主线做好铺垫。

尤其是第二个问题的后半问句“在男主人公不在家的三个周期间女主人
公为什么那么抗拒机器人?”极大地激发了学生的想象力。

原因可能是她怕受到伤害或者她怕机器人一旦失控她不知道在没有丈夫的帮助下如何应付。

继续追问:“那从她的这种反应上能否看出她是个什么性格的人?”(可能的答案:过分依赖人的,缺乏独立性的;需要关爱的)。

第三个问题了解机器人的外貌特征。

这些都为后面女主人公情感变化提供了合理的依据。

环节三。

阅读三四段,了解女主人公是个什么样的人
List Claire’s sense of failure and analyze what kind of woman she is.
(设计意图):走进Claire 的失败感,并通过分析这些失败感进一步
了解Claire 是个什么样的女人(不自信;爱慕虚荣的)。

人物的性格对小说的阅读非常重要。

这些继续为后面了解女主人公情感变化提供了合理的依托。

同时锻炼学生快速阅读培养学生细节理解能力为以后活动的开展和任务的实现扫除语言和情感障碍。

环节四:阅读5-11 段,走进故事的高潮部分
When creating Tony, Asimove put forward three strict laws for robots, the first of which is: A robot mustn’t injure human beings or allow them to be injured. So Tony must do something to help Claire.
Q: What did Tony to help Claire?
(设计意图):走进故事的高潮部分,进一步树立机器人的高大形象。

锻炼学生归纳提炼信息的能力。

同时通过同学们之间的讨论交流,进一步凸显自主学习而非教师的给予与灌输。

环节五。

梳理女主人公的情感变化
Claire’s feelings towards Tony changed as
Tony helped more. List the occasions in order of time
and find out Claire’s feelings at each occasion.
(设计意图):本步骤是此课的重点以及难点所在。

设计目的是使学生通过充分的阅读和讨论,从女主人公感情变化这条主线来进一步理清文章的情节。

理念是学生依靠自己的努力和小组的讨论,而不是依赖老师
来理解故事的梗概和情节发展。

给足学生读和讨论的时间。

教师与学生交流,最后挑选两组理解整理得比较优秀的小组来给出自己的答案。

环节六。

理解标题
Q: Why did Claire fall in love with Tony in the end?
The robot has all the qualities that a good husband should have and what are they?
(设计意图)引导学生回顾Tony 身上的优点来反思Was Claire satisfied with Tony? 因为reading 的标题是satisfaction guaranteed , 所以用反问的形式让学生真正去思考Tony 包君满意了吗?以此来思考标题。

目的在于让学生学会用已知的信息用英语思维并去理解语篇的意义。

环节七:思考与讨论
If you were Claire, would you fall in with Tony? Why?(设计意图)设计这样的一个问题是为了让学生有带入感,从自身的角度来思考女主人公最后爱上机器人的合理性。

鼓励学生的批判性思维。

我想有相当大的一部分女孩会说爱上,因为它满足了我们对理想老公的所有幻想。

但一定要引导学生树立正确的价值观人生观,因为人机是不能相恋的,这违背了伦理与道德。

想象一下未来大街上人机拉着手,这会引起整个社会的混乱。

环节八阅读最后一段,了解是否所有人对结果都是满意的。

同时
思考主题

2.What does the writer want to tell us by creating
such a story?
(设计意图)主题是小说阅读的升华,通过对这两个问题的思考,培
养批判性与创造性思维并去感觉到这篇文章的意义。

这两个问题都是没有固定答案的。

赞成重组的人可能认为人机相恋是不正常的,反对重组的人可能认为机器人毕竟它只是个机器,它很快就会忘记这段经历;或者Tony 也许根本就不爱女主人公,它只是按照程序去做事,它的某些行为让女主人公产生了误解,所以女主人公是被欺骗了。

其实,最最重要的事情不是去处理机器,而是从人身上找原因,遇到问题要学会自己去解决问题,而不是依赖于一些不实际的东西。

最后引导学生思考作者想要表达的;不是科学幻想,而是人与机器的关系,人与人的关系甚至包括人与自我的关系。

环节九:续说故事
Several days later when Claire woke up,…
(设计意图):通过合作,发挥想象力,在自己对小说的理解基础上,展现自己的成果。

学生经过前面的仔细阅读、思考和讨论,应该对故事有了自己的充分理解,对故事怎么发展有自己的想法与期待,所以此环节应该能得到学生的积极参与。

如果学生出现了女主人公无法忍受离开Tony 的生活最后和丈夫离婚,作为老师就要及时的纠正。

我们一定要有正确的价值观和人生观。

Homework:
作为丈夫或者是机器人的设计师给女主人公的一封信。

(设计意图):考查学生解决问题和学以致用的能力。
