About the title
<<infernal affairs>is from the Buddhist sutras（佛经）,it means the infernal hell, and it is the most painful hell, if people are in this hell ,he will be punished forever and can not escape from it . （无间地狱是佛经故事中八大地狱中最苦的一个，也是民间所谓 十八层地狱中最抄底的那一层。凡被打入无间地狱（无间道）的， 永无解脱希望。） This film is about two people’s fates and the fate malposition(错位）,it makes the two main roles feel like being in the infernal affair, they want to make change and chase for their real life, but finally they fail.

Because both sides all want to find the undercover ,so they take a lot of action ,and at that time ,the criminal syndicate kills Huang sir. Liu Jianming finally wants to become a good person so he helps the police to arrest HanChen. In the end ,the two undercover all know each other.

Because Liu reset Chen’s record in the police ,so the only person knows Chen’s identity is Liu, and Chen also has some important information which can caught Liu, in the end ,another undercover helps Liu kill Chen, but because Liu wants nobody to know his past ,so he kills the undercover as well.

Jianming graduates from the police academy and later becomes a successful police . Chen Yongren in these years has been trusted by Han Chen, but because Han Chen‘s case has not been broken, he’ll continue to staying in the criminal syndicate, and only Huang sir (Anthony Wong 黄秋 生)connects with him.

The story
In 1991 ，18-year-old criminal syndicate(黑 社会）member Liu Jianming (Andy Lau 刘德华) listens to the Han Chen’s (Eric Tsang 曾志伟) instructions and go to the police academy, becoming the police undercover.
One night in 2002, according to ChenYongren’s information., a number of drugs are traded ,and one of the trading people is HanChen, because at that time, Liu Jianming in time take message to the Han Chen, so he escapes, but both sides realize that there is undercover.

While another student of the police, Chen Yongren (Tony Leung 梁朝伟),is forced to be out of school ,but in fact， is to let him go to the criminal syndicate to become the undercover
