The topic of this unit is “The Internet Connects us”, and the title of this lesson is “The Internet –Good o r Bad”. I decide to talk about this lesson from four parts:Part One——Analysis of the Teaching MaterialOne: Status and FunctionIn this unit we have learned some usages of the Internet. In this lesson, we will learn about some disadvantages of the Internet. It will lead the students to understand the double sides of the Internet. So it plays an important role in this unit.Nowadays, more and more students are addicted to the Internet, so it is necessary to learn how to use it properly. This hot topic is easy to arouse the Ss’ learning interests.Two: Teaching AimsThe teaching aims are based on the Junior School English syllabus' provision.1. Knowledge objects(1) After this lesson, the students can master several words and phrases such as: advantage, simple, coin, cause, less, steal, in seconds, far away, every coin has two sides, aside from and take up. (2) Ss can master the usage of adverbial clause with “if”2. English studying is a little difficult for them.I will plan all the teaching steps according to training their “four skills”Step 1 Talking and leading in (3mins)1. Show some pictures about the usages of the Internet on one page of PPT.Ask the students a question: what can you do on the Internet?They can use the following structures to answer the question.I can use the Internet to… / I can … on the Internet/by using the Internet.(Ask about 10 students to answer and add marks to their own groups)2. Ask the students: Is the Internet good or bad?I think it has two sides like a coin. Showing pictures about both sides of a coin and present the saying “Every coin has two sides” Every thing has two sides. We can also say one is advantage and the other is disadvantage. The Internet has advantages and disadvantages (Read together twice). Today we will learn lesson 23 The Internet –Good or Bad”Purpose:This part is easy for most of the students. They can take an active part in new class quickly. It also creates a relaxing atmosphere.Step 2 New teaching (5mins)Ask some students to read the words one by one, I need to correct their pronunciation, and then read them together. I will give them 3mins to recite the new words. Finally check in class. Practice different forms of steal and little by filling the blanks.Purpose: Pictures can help the students remember the knowledge clearly.Step 3 Listening and Filling (5mins)(Before listening, give students 30 seconds to reading the questions in silence.)Then play the CD twice.(Check the answers and then work in groups to guess the meaning of the three phrases.) Purpose:This part mainly trains their listening and checks their words. Successful guessing raises Ss learning interest and deepens their impression.Step 4 Reading (20mins)(1) Fast Reading (1min)Ss read the article as quickly as possible and get the general idea of the text.(2) Task based Reading (7mins)In this step, Ss can get the detail information about the text by finishing the tasks. I will ask two students from different groups to write their answers on the blackboard. After a while, let them discuss the answers in groups. And then check the answers and find out the language points. Making a hyperlink to learn more about why is the Internet bad for people’s health.(3) Reading after the CD and make a conclusionLet the students listen and imitate the text. Pay attention to their pronunciation and intonation Purpose: These steps aim to develop Ss’ reading ability and make them have a better understanding of the article. Through group work, cultivate the spirit of cooperation, and train the ability of solve problem by themselves.Step 5 TalkingPresent some pictures on the screen. And then work in groups to compete the sentences. Purpose: It will improve their thinking and the speaking skill. The training makes the next part much easier.Step6 writing (10mins)Ask students to reading the chat and write down the phrases it has mentioned. List the sentence patterns they may use. Make sure the structure of this competition.Step7 HomeworkFinish this composition and preview lesson 24.Part 8——Blackboard DesigningTo attain “four skills” request of listening, speaking, reading and writing,After check the answers, I will help the Ss to summarize the language points. the Ss can find out the language points and then practice using them. to, and help them to learn the new words and phrases which they may come across while reading,That is to say, I’ll let the students get a better understanding of the key structures.These activities will let the students have deep impressions to learn this lesson.In a word, I want to make the students the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as director.
