The bar chart illustrates five countries which were visited most frequently by UK residents in 1999, namely, France,
Spain, USA, Greece and Turkey. As is shown in the bar chart, most UK visitors wet to France and Spain.
As we can see from the bar chart, among the five given countries, France enjoyed the greatest popularity compared with other four countries(approximately 11 million), followed by Spain(9 million), USA(3.5 million) and Greece(3 million). It can be seen clearly that the number in USA and Greece were similar. Turkey(2.5 million) accounted for one third of that of Spain, which was the
least popular one among the five countries. It is noticeable that the number of people who visited France was more than 4 times than that of Turkey.
Overall, among the five popular countries visited by UK tourists, France was chosen by most visitors while Turkey was the last one which appealed to the UK visitors.
