From the earliest silent films to the modern blockbusters, movies have captured the imagination of audiences worldwide. Movie appreciation, or film criticism, involves analyzing and evaluating these films based ontheir content, technique, and impact. In this article, we delve into the world of movie appreciation, exploring the elements that make a film memorable and discussing how to write an effective movie review in English. The foundation of any movie review is a thorough understanding of the film's content. This involves paying attention to the plot, characters, themes, and symbolism. The plot is the sequence of events that form the storyline, and it should be analyzed for its originality, pacing, and coherence. Characters, on the other hand, are the heart of any story, and it's important to consider how they are developed, their arcs, and their relationships with other characters. Themes are the underlying ideas or messagesthat a film tries to convey, and they often deal withuniversal topics like love, death, freedom, or society. Symbolism, meanwhile, refers to objects, actions, or images that represent abstract concepts or ideas. In addition to content, it's also crucial to evaluate a film's technique. This includes cinematography, editing, music, and acting. Cinematography, or the art of capturing images on film, is essential in creating the visual style and mood of a movie. Editing determines how these images are arranged and affects the pacing and flow of the story. Music, whether original score or licensed tracks, can enhance the emotional impact of scenes, while acting brings the characters to life and makes them believable. When writing a movie review in English, it's important to structure your thoughts clearly and use appropriate language. Start by introducing the film and providing a brief overview of its plot and main characters. Then, delve into your analysis, discussing the themes, symbolism, and technique used by the director. Use examples and quotes from the film to support your arguments and make your review more engaging. Finally, wrap up by summarizing your thoughts and providing a rating or recommendation. Here's an example of a movie review in English, analyzing the film "The Shawshank Redemption":"The Shawshank Redemption" is a timeless tale of hope, friendship, and redemption. Andy's refusal to give up despite his circumstances is a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance and faith. His eventual escape from prison and redemption through hard work and integrity serve as a testament to the transformative power of hope.Darabont's direction is impeccable, with beautiful cinematography that captures the bleakness of prison life and the beauty of freedom. The music, composed by Thomas Newman, complements the emotional arcs of the characters, adding depth and emotional resonance to the story. The acting performances are also outstanding, with Robbins and Freeman delivering powerful and nuanced performances that bring their characters to life. 影视赏析的英文作文英文:As a lover of film and television, I find great pleasure in analyzing and appreciating the artistry behind the screen. There are a multitude of elements that go into creating a successful film or TV show, from the writing to the cinematography to the acting. Each aspect contributes to the overall experience of the viewer, and it's fascinating to dissect how they all come together. One of the most important elements, in my opinion, is the writing. A well-written script can make or break a film or TV show. It's the foundation upon which everything else is built. The dialogue, character development, and plot all stem from the script, and a weak script can result in a lackluster final product. On the other hand, a strongscript can elevate even mediocre performances and cinematography.Another crucial aspect is the acting. A talented actor can bring a character to life and make the audience care about their journey. It's not just about delivering lines convincingly, but also about embodying the character and bringing their emotions and motivations to the forefront. A great example of this is Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight. His portrayal was so haunting and captivating that it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role.Cinematography is also a key component in creating a memorable film or TV show. The way a scene is shot can convey a certain mood or emotion, and can even becomeiconic in its own right. Think of the opening shot of The Godfather, with the cat sitting in Marlon Brando's lap. It immediately sets the tone for the rest of the film and is instantly recognizable. Finally, music and sound design can greatly enhance the viewing experience. A well-crafted score can heighten the emotional impact of a scene, while sound effects can add to the realism and immersion of the world being portrayed. Theuse of music in the final scene of The Shawshank Redemption is a perfect example of this. The swelling score perfectly captures the sense of hope and liberation that the characters are feeling.Overall, analyzing and appreciating film and television is a deeply rewarding experience. It allows us to delveinto the artistry behind the screen and gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the medium.中文:作为一名影视爱好者,我非常喜欢分析和欣赏屏幕背后的艺术。

The Blind SideOrdinary story are often the most can move the heart.Have you ever seen the movie The Blind Side?A moving, funny movie that is a dramatic of a real event. It was directed by John Lee Hancook. The story’s archetype is Michacel Jerome Oher, who is working at NFL,the movie is mainly about his growing experience before he achieved fame.Maybe his sory is ordinary,an African-American boy with a signal unmarried mother, yeah, also his mom do drugs and other bad things, living in the back slums, then he was adopted by Tuohys’ by accident. They helped him into the college football team. African-American boy. White American story is common, but it’s still valued.I think Michael’ s main problem is that “Lacking of Self existence feeling”, I think it is also many American-American trouble .African-American question is exist as old as American history. In the beginning, they were slaves to whites, social position is not in their world. With the flow of time, they have achieved the right for their try and struggle by actually. As we all know, even Obama changed the American history become the American President,African-Americans are also have a difficult condiction.Like Oher,he has a questioned mom,had no money, horrible report card, not allowed live with his mom for government rule officials think about things with their advisable not the feelings, they only take charge of taking Oher away from his mom, sending him to another family, ignore Oher’s real feeling, they just do whatever they think it’s best to him,and don’t care about whether it’s Oher’s hope.In the movie, the actor of acting Oher asked himself when he standing before the mirrior ,”who am I?”I think that why he wants a driver’s license,he just give the reason like that “Something to carry with my name on it”,maybe he would not have the existence feeling,he didin’t want to live like air.Mike is a kind person, lovefamily ,aspire family’s warm, regard protect families as his duty.Ms Tuohy an devout Christian, like an angel with a kind heart, when she said “I got you back” to Mike, I want to cry, she ignored others prejudice, help and love Mike with her heart. In the end of the movie, there is a dialog between Ann and Mike, “I want you do whatever you want, it is your decision, Michael, it’s your life”I can’t forget the smile on his face,I think he has achieved himself and find his home.Compared with Oher, the other African-American boys, such as his friends who dropped out from school, joined in the reactionary gang, do drugs or bad things, their fate maybe is not because of their color ,that are changed when they leaved the school, decided go wrong ways. Oher’s friends have been died in an confusion fight, the newspaper had reported this news, especially, the report included that a piece of news, one of the friends had a talent in PE,how sad news, who know maybe they would be another Michael Johdan, they ruined themselves. I sudden remember a speech made by Obama, he called the youth to come to school again, receive the education, it’s really necessary. I can’t deny that Mike is lucky to meet MsTuh,however we should remember that “it’s your life”.I don’t have a knowledge of soccer ,but I really moved about it, it’s ordinary ,it’s real feeling, move my heart. As long as we see the blind side, help others with pleasure, everyone is possible to change others, even ourselves’ life.。

The Truman Show was such a good movie that I feel truly touched at the end. The perfect performance of King Kerry leads us to a simple life of Truman in fact it doesn’t that normal. As we can see, Truman was an ordinary man, like the most of us. He has many desires and his work, his family, friends and so on. Everything seems normal however with the development of the plot, we know that Truman is an actor, a world-wide star while he himself didn’t know. Besides, everything in his life has been arranged, He lived in a world created by man, by the director. And when he found that something was wrong in his life, he struggled to get out, leaving the world he lived to the unknown outside. Though coming across many troubles in process of finding new place and chasing dreams, he finally got to the edge of his ‘world’, the small world created for him and other actors, he smiled and said, “Good morning, and in case I don’t see you, good afternoon and good night !” The story was over both in the play and out the play.Truman gets true life with struggle, no matter how the world is, the point is that he chooses his own life bravely. The movie director, Peter Weir, gives us a view that everyone should be prepared for new challenges in life and make life by yourself, not by others.Costumes sooner or later faded, scenery sooner or later be removed, just do not forget the theater addiction, feel free to let another "I "-this I walked off the stage, audience, sipping a cup of tea, take a look at the stage of the "I " and "them ", the drum a few palm stream a few drops of tears, to understand it, they close the epiphany. In fact, we cross not taken the door what is the relationship? Because our hearts have been cross-out.2.The Film Review of Forrest Gump次里拉姆2011301040005To Run Like Forrest GumpMar,23th,2013"Run,Forrest!"Jenny said this to Forrest, and for Forrest, running went through his whole life.I'd rather read the film Forrest Gump in another way as followings:the whole movie can be compared to as small as one's mental life or personality, also as big as the mental life of a nation. When it is compared to personality,in other words, the whole movie stands for a man. Then,Forrest Gump is the simpleness and perseverance of person's characteristics while Jenny symbolizes the part of rebellion in one's mind.Besides,Lieutenant Dan represents suspicion and resentment. In addition,Bubba represents sincerity to friends as well as pureness in our body. The last character, also the most important role,is the mother, which means the belief in life and self-confidence.There should be some belief in one's mind so that he can build himself up and face challenges bravely,as the mother said,"life is like a box of chocolate, you'll never know which one you are going to get."Forrest runs almost his life,he runs against pressure. His simpleness runs against violence, suspicion and many other things, and eventually the simpleness beats other things like violence just as light can beat darkness.Jenny gained a simple and normal life after many struggles and then came by Forrest's side. What's more, Lieutenant Dan also was influenced by Forrest and acquired a calm attitude towards life.Forrest run on the way,to beat unpleasant thinking,he won in the end, which told us that one can be kind as long as he want to be.Just let your sincerity runs faster than laziness and suspicion, then you can live a happy life. The meaning of life is something to do,someone to love and something to hope for. While it can also be compared to the mental life of a nation.Though many obstacles forward, just run and keep a calm attitude towards it,peaceful life will come oneday. To run,let sincerity run fast, let belief run fast, just like Forrest,to run for a wonderful future.Strenghen the faith that the morning will come.Forrest run through his life. His running can be viewed as struggles in one's mind through life.Humanbeings have many qualities, such as sincerity, honesty, also suspicion, violence. What we should do is to beat ungodly thoughts when they come out and to be a kind and sincere man.To a nation,it keeps same that people in the nation should always have something to hope for and keep kind and sincere all the time.As a result, the nation will become stronger and stronger.3.Film Review of Dead Poets Society次里拉姆2011301040005An urgent need of educational reformMar.30th, 2013The movie called Dead Poets Society was released in 1989, which tells a story happened in an old church school connected with John Kealting, the teacher who stressed the creativity of students, and a couple of students who struggled for their own dreams . Finally, the students were changed much in guidance of their teacher, though there were miserable endings such as Neil’s case.We can still remember the Captain’s words “Seize the days, make your life extraordinary ”.As we all know, many of us are losing ourselves in the trends of reality, frustration or the authority. The most impressing scene in the movie is that, on the first class, once a teacher came in students wrote down everything teacher talked at once, there were only a pile of heads staring at their books. It reminds me of many scenes in our schools: students learn things rigidly, and teachers transfer knowledge mechanically which seriously damage the creativity of the yongs. I think , education must be flexible, a thing can really be absorbed by learners. However, when their captain has done some things to help students find themselves and achieve their dreams, A sorrow came,Neil, the poor boy, who was on the way to achieve his dream , suicided under the pressure of his father. As a consequence, their captain was also fired by school for his misleading to students. Authority beats non-conformity at that time. In spite of this ,the bud was root in our mind: education needs reform, for a new sight of knowledge. Just as our captain said, ”Education is not filling a pail, but the lighting of the fire.”In addition, the movie also reveals the relationship between father and son, the contradiction between the realism and the idealism, and the attitude towards lifeand so on.Another movie that express similar theme is Mona Lisa Smile, which reveal the women's liberation movement ,the teacher also challenged to the educational system for the liberation of women students. In a word , the movie owns many themes. Wise see wisdom .My opinion is that the movie complain about the education system which has trammeled students.4.Film Review of War Horse次里拉姆2011301040005Friend,WarApril 20th,2013Many people say that they cried after seeing the movie War Horse,so am I.The last scene impressed me much:the golden light, peaceful farm and the reunion of the family, including the horse.Everyone likes a happy ending, which can give people some hope to live through hard time, and it is what films accounts.War Horse,a movie directed by Steven Spielberg, the big director who have made many great movies, and it was released in 2011.The movie mainly tells a story of the friendship of a boy and his horse Joey and it was on the background of the world war I.A horse was dragged to a war, separating from his owner and after a series of difficult experiences, they reunite by chance, accompanying with the war's ending. The first thing we can learn in the movie must be something about how to develop the friendship. When first met,Albert patted Joey on the back and got close to him gently, which told us that we should be respectful when starting a friendship with somebody. Then,Albert trained Joey to plough under the pressure of poverty, they made it at last, which told us that friends need to trust and support each other whenever. In addition, the ability to plough saved his life in the war.Brave maybe sometimes to protect someone you love.Joey came out to pull cannon instead of Micheal, the horse friend of Joey's,the scene moved me much. The movie can be divided into four parts on the basis of friendship. The first is the friendship between Albert and Joey, then is Emily and two horses and the third is relationship between two horses, the last is the reunion of Albert and Joey.It is a songfor humanity during the war time.Besides, there are also some other themes, such as the cruelty of the war, some statements in the film reflected it,for example,"Was does not determine who is right but who is left "and so on.What's more,we can take a notice of the attitude towards horse:they treasure them very much,a German soldier's calling a horse "Prince" and soldiers horse racing delivered a custom in these place at that time. Moreover, there are much to say about the film-making skills:the background lm feast. In a word, the movie deliver a hope for peace and the praise of humanity during hard time, which can inspire people to treasure friendship and be brave as well as trustful. The reunion in the end encourages people to be hopeful to life even though you are suffering a lot.5.Film Review of The Great Debaters次里拉姆2011301040005Great Debaters Are NeededApril 29, 2013The movie Greater Debaters provided us with a feast for debating, as well as many other things at the same time. The sentences applied in the debating related to some famous words such as "Love the sinner and hate the sin "by Gandhi and that "An unjust law is no law at all "by St. Augustine, which of them all proved the power of words and it is the time when the audience stood up over a debating that shows the magic of words. Consequently, debaters are needed in our life for a brightening future.Mr Tolson was a great debater who have debated his students to own their thoughts and speak out. "Education the only way out. " Mr Tolson told it to his students and made it in the end, which reflected in the last scene in the movie where the three debaters won without Mr Tolson. That is to say, Mr Tolson made his students debaters in the end, then the students also went behind him to educate more students, which is education abouts, to teach and influence more and more people to be aware of humanity, to make their voice heard.James was also a great debater who have changed his father's attitude. It is not hard for us to detect the change of his attitude, including his attitude towards his son, Mr Tolson and to the white. At the beginning, the father was a typical citizen and a black who didn't want to involve in many politics, the discrimination steeped in his mind, which made him given in to the white while factually they needn't, and he was also against what Mr Tolson did for fear of catching a fire. What's more, he bonded his son to take part in political events. However, the father changed after a series ofthings, he realized that he was responsible for the pursuit of equality of blacks, and even he talked to the people who caught Mr Tolson, which means that all blacks or generally speaking, all people should take responsibility for their right for equality and justice. In addition, the change of the father will inspire people especially the blacks in the USA to fight for legal rights. Another thing is the relationship between the father and the son, compared with that in the movie Dead Poets Society, Jame's father accepted his child after a bunch of things and stood together with his son in the end. Though there are many great debaters in the movie, humanity is the greatest debater. We witnessed many unjust treatments to blacks, being belittled, lynching, being threatened discrimination and so on. It is time for equality, and "Time for equality is always, is right now "as Booke said.Inspiring as it is, it also reflects many problems, what we can do is to do as much as we can to "debate "for humanity, for justice and so on.Great debaters are needed!6.Film Review of The Hours次里拉姆2011301040005To Love LifeMay 26th, 2013If ever a movie deserved to be a so-called real bummer, it's "The Hours. " As fine a movie as it is, this drama is one of most downbeat, dreary films to come along in quite some time."Always, to look life in the face and to know it for what it is, at last, to know it, to love it for what it is, and then, to put it away. " The women in The Hours said.Different space and time, different women, connected by Mrs Dalloway, the woman in the novel. The women struggled against problems of this kind or that kind: Virginia struggled with her mental health, as well as thought about her novel, and Laura, the housewife, the woman who seemed happy, also had her own problems, her shyness made her self difficult to communicate with others while Clarissa, the positive and independent lady, also suffered a lot in life. All in all, these transfer an idea that no one's life is perfect and we should learn to accept as it is. Besides, with the development of the plot, we can deserve that women's attitude towards life changed much for decades, which conveyed from Clarissa's confidence."Do not dare the scorching sun, and do not fear the ravages of winter. " I understood it as that do not be afraid everything in life, whether good or bad, accept them. Then if we are not afraid of life, we will not be afraid of everything, including death, for death is part of life.Thoreau said: "Life is meaningless unless you choose it and give it a value, there is no happy place, unless you bring happiness yourself. " I used to think the pursuit of happiness is the vital thing of life, and gradually I understand that it is not the most important, while the meaning is. Seek the meaning for life, which can help you go through life, especially in an era full of options and temptations. In addition, Roman Rolland said: "There is only one kind of heroism, that is,still keep the love for life after recognizing the truth of life. " But it is the most difficult thing to "love life ".In a word, the movie delivers that we should accept life as it is, and love it at the same time.7.Film Review of The Graduates次里拉姆2011301040005The Chord in The GraduatesMay, 4th, 2013The Graduates was one of the best movies I've ever seen, Dustin Hoffman, his first major film role, playing Benjamin Braddock: confusion and isolated the epitome of young adult males. He sat in his room, doing nothing. He was lying around for hours on end the swimming pool of his parents. Minutes, just graduated from college, is home to the summer. Then, in an awkward sexual encounter named Mrs. Robinson's friends, his parents, an one-night stand into a summer romance. But betrayal soon as Benjamin fell in love with Mrs. Robinson's daughter, Elaine. If ever a song the film more appropriate, in addition to all the observation tower " Apocalypse Now ", it is the 'silence' prefabricated Simon & Garfunkel Mike Nichol's " The Graduate "sound. Songs, nearly word to describe the character's inner turmoil "graduates " face. They are confused and confusing, the life of the bridge, two crossing into adulthood into old age stuck. And this is just one way to look at it.This is an inner soul of the epic, need a little more meditation. What is only entertainment, if you are in touch with your inner self, and not expect, looking at screen entertainment. Despite the appearance of the comic, I always think it touches a sensitive chord somehow sad. This also explains the end of the film - that is, the last shot. It must be a celebration, this has succeeded in his goal to snatch his beloved away from the altar, and claimed that she eventually for their own (and her go willingly, or dizziness). However, after the initial enthusiasm faded, the two of them smile dissipated, the finalimage is a pure frustration and confusion. The film's tone is a comedy, but the subject is heavy and serious, It is "serious comedy ", the film reflects the sense of a bitter irony, this ironic efforts to increase. On the other hand, as a artists living in the community for social satire is often well-intentioned, also try the extreme extent, and to the general public are able to accept the extent it is this ideal neutralizer and comedy. For the just stepped University Maotouxiaohuo sub, the social order has been early fathers worked out for you good, this layer order is the ideology of the "adult society ", if this ideology is rotten outdated, then certainly gave birth to rise up against one or more individuals to break through all forces. Benjamin is the video of this individual strength.8.Film Review of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest次里拉姆2011301040005Challenge and Go AheadMay,18th,2013Having watched the movie One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, I was shocked greatly, as well as grieved for the McMurphy when he was put on the bed without vitality in the end. Anyone who have seen it would sigh for hero's sacrifice, however his challenges were not in vain, Chief, changed from a non-voicer to a breaker under the influence of McMurphy and achieve the goal to fly over the Cuckoo's nest, which inspires people to fly over the cage of modern life.We can find many things in the movie that reflect the situation of modern life: people suffer a lot both mentally and physically in current society, we shout, but no one heard, as the man in the movie who request for his cigarettes but was ignored by Nurse Mildred Ratched, the woman who stands for the defender of the old rules. Moreover, what McMurphy did encourages people to challenge the decadent situation. One of the sentences in the movie is that, "You complaint about this place but no courage to walk out ", which shows the timidity of people completely, and the words also impressed me much. Another expression is the words that McMurphy said to peers: "I failed but I have tried "when they made a bet. Besides, he challenged the schedule for pursuit his interest though end up with the closed TV set and his own imagination, and he also taught taught Chief, who was seen as deaf and mute, to play basketball and so on. All in all, McMurphy's arriving to the nest brought the place passion and hope. However, he was thought as crazy and dangerous by the people in the nest. They suppressed him for being afraid of his breakout. They carry the name of the guise of the humanitarian while actually they treat patients as patients as the experiment of the medical staff, therefore they has become the victim of the non-human system, this kind of Hospital is the real "hell on earth ", This is not to written and directed fictionally but a true portrayal of capitalist society. In a word, our Chief walked out and there will be more and more people who chased after him and get rid of the suppression of so-called rules.9.Film Review of The Pursuit of Happyness次里拉姆2011301040005Happiness Will Come In the EndApril 22th,2013"Not let anyone say that you can't do something. If you want, go get it! "Chris said to his son. Inspiring as it is, the movie also touch me deeply for the perseverance of the father and his love for his son.Chris said his life consisted of six parts: riding the bus, being stupid, running, internship, paying taxes and at last happiness. We witnessed many embarrassed scenes in his life: divorce, homelessness, taxes, prison and so on. However, he never gave up: he was running to seek for chance, to grasp every opportunity to get to know as many customers as possible during his intension. Eventually he was employed by his company after the hard time.In one hand, the movie is about an inspiring story of a man who work hard to achieve his dream, a man who have tried as much as he can to make it. Besides, his character helped a lot: he was sincere, confident, and calm as well as sociable. In addition, he was running during his hard time: running to the company, to church, to flee from the taxi and eventually running to the happiness. It reminds me of Forrest Gump, the man who have run through his life. Both of them teach us that we should run for our goals, just as Chris said, "you get a dream, you got to protect it ", we should be brave enough to achieve our dreams. In the other hand, the film reflects the kinship between father and son. The father worked very hard but he would never ignore his son, he always encouraged and educated his son whenever. He said to his son that "God helps those who help themselves "and "Don't let somebody tell you that you can't do something "and many other inspiring expressions. They shared happiness and sorrow all the time, it is what kinship abouts. In addition, a scene in the movie that impressed me much was that the poor stoodin line in front of a church for a place to have a rest while the rich were riding their cars on the street to have fun, what the chasm between the rich and the poor in that society is.In a word, Chris succeed when the manager said "tomorrow will be your first day."In the bright sunshine, the father and his son walked on a beautiful beach: the happiness come in the end!10.Reflection Paper次里拉姆20113010400005Reflection PaperJun,3rd,2013Having watched a series of movies that contain many meaningful themes,I feel that I have much to say.At first,I feel that I haven’t thought the theme of a movie over and over until I take this class. That is to say,I saw movie just for entertainment before but I have learned to analysis a movie in a relatively complete way after guiding by the teacher. For example, when I first saw the movie The Hours,I completely didn’t know what was the movie talking about: different time and space as well as different characters confused me much while after teacher’s explanation of the characters and background,I knew a lot about the theme of the movie such as the true meaning of life, the stress on the individual happiness and so on.Next, the development of the movie is of a nation’s spiritual civilization,a period stands for a certain kind of spirit, people make progress after a series of struggles and challenges while movies are those what shows the advancement, just as the term in philosophy:spiraling.Everything develops in a spiraling way.Movies represent the spiritual development of a nation to some extent.. Basically speaking, all of the movies are impressing and educational, which have enlightened us more or less.Take The pursuit of Happyness for example,we feel inspired by the hero. Some famous sayings in it such as “You got a dream, you got to protect it”and “Don’t let somebody tell you that you can’t do something”and many other expressions that impressed me much.Another quotation is what Kealting told his students-“Seize the days, make your life extraordinary”-that touch me much,I thought of my own situation, and feel sorry for myself for I have lost my personality in the trends of current life,I’m not the girl who keenly chase after my own freedom anymore.I know that many of us are the same, once we have been in college,we mayget addicted in many things. However, after watching the movie,I realized the problem and determined to be more free of many things and live an easy life.Likewise, people’s values are updated gradually,to warn people of the problem and encourage people to challenge it are what movies about. In addition we can also catch sight of the different life of people from different social status.Generally speaking, movies are the image of society which have been enlarged to reflect some certain phenomena. Movies show many problems exist in our society, such as discrimination in The Great Debaters, suppression in modern society in the One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and Dead Poets Society, and people’s pursuit of liberty in The Truman Show and Dead Poets Society, people’s desire for peace in the War Horse and so on.In a word, movies are further more than entertainment, they are about many things: themes,movie-making techniques such as background music and the making of scene and so on.。

Film Review of Se7enOn the English class of the sixth week, we watched the film “S e7en”,a film calls for deep thought and is educational、I fell into the atmosphere for a long time after watching the film、Before the beginning of it, we already had a deep impression on the title “S e7en”, the letter “v” being replaced by figure “7”, which suggests the main content、There are seven Catholic death penalty, but a series of bizarre murders, seven of the victims were killed in this film、Somerset, full of detective experience, made efforts to figure out it,but it finally does not appear to be linked to the murder of a loss as to how many、After the fifth murder, who is the next target? Where? No one can foresee、Police at a loss due, the killer turned himself in the miraculous, and this time the perpetrators of the "seven sins" is still two, I wonder if he will stop there? He put his neck into the noose, why? The perpetrators claim to the "great masterpiece" will be completed in the tight custody of the police, the murderer can do it again? The outcome of people far beyond the expected、S e7en made it clear that the seven sins of Catholic Church: "gluttony", "greed" , "sloth" , "lust", "pride", "envy" and "wrath"、Somerset is the host of senior homicide police, who will soon retire but Mills is a novice, to pay a high interest, please voluntarily to the branch、Monday morning, a murder, assailants in the refrigerator after the word "gluttony", Tuesday, is a lawyer at the scene with the word "greed", a day, depending on the seven died、In the face of the case, Somerset earned the hearts of many livings in the city for a long time, he has a long habitof looking at things coldly, like this is not the case then, after consideration and stay to help Mills, Mills gas side Just, irritability impulse, mystify the killer on his election as a result of the last seven - "wrath、" John was killed by Mills to kill his wife, Tracy、Allow themselves to be "envy", Mills became "wrath" and John won this game、Somerset can be retired, but looking at the Back of Mills,he was no words、That the community has always been in such a miserable, or simple naive is also a crime、S e7en, a dark, grisly, horrifying and intelligent thriller, may be too disturbing for many people、I imagine, although if you can bear to watch,it you will see film-making of a high order、It tells the story of two detectives - one ready to retire, the other at the start of his career - and their attempts to capture a perverted serial killer who is using the seven deadly sins as his scenario、As the movie opens,we meet Somerset (Morgan Freeman),a meticulous veteran cop who lives a lonely bachelor's life in what looks like a furnished room、Then he meets Mills (Brad Pitt),an impulsive young cop who actually asked to be transferred into Somerset's district、The two men investigate a particularly gruesome murder,in which a fat man was tied hand and feet and forced to eat himself to death、His crime was the crime of Gluttony、Soon Somerset and Mills are investigating equally inventive murders involving Greed,Sloth,Lust and the other deadly sins、In each case, the murder method is appropriate, and disgusting (one victim is forced to cut off a pound of his own flesh; another is tied to a bed for a year; a third, too proud of her beauty,is disfigured and then offered the choice of a call for help or sleeping pills)、Somerset concludes that the killer,"John Doe," is using his crimes to preach a sermon、The look of "S e7en" is crucial to its effect、This is a very dark film, the gloom often penetrated only by the flashlights of the detectives、Even when all the lights are turned on in the apartments of the victims, they cast only wan, hopeless pools of light、What gives "Seven" it's unsettling impact is the way the film connects deeply with each character, even the victims who are never seen alive、Freeman, Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow ("Flesh and Bone") as Pitt's wife are all in top form here and the audience comes to know them intimately -- whatever affects them, affects the viewer equally、This is especially true of Pitt, whose character struggles to maintain his optimism in the face of the horrors he sees、Although the time of the story is the present, the set design suggests the 1940s; GaryWissner, the art director, goes for dark blacks and browns, deep shadows, lights of deep yellow, and a lot of dark wood furniture、It rains almost all the time、The killer is played, by a well-known actor who is not named in the opening credits (the producers want to keep his identity a surprise), with a calm but explosive demeanor conspicuously reminiscent of Anthony Hopkins in "Silence of the Lambs、"In this jungle of gloom,Somerset and Mills tread with growing alarm、Somerset intuits that the killer is using books as the inspiration for his crimes, and studies Dante,Milton and Chaucer for hints、Mills settles for the Cliff Notes versions、A break in the case comes with Somerset's sudden hunch that the killer might have a library card、But the corpses pile up,in cold fleshy detail,as disturbingly graphic as I've seen in a commercial film、The only glimmers of life and hope come from Tracy (Gwyneth Paltrow),Mills' wife、A movie like this is all style、The material by itself could have been handled in many ways, but the director,David Fincher, goes for evocative atmosphere, and the writer,Andrew Kevin Walker, writes dialogue that for Morgan Freeman,in particular,is wise, informed and poetic、("Anyone who spends a significant amount of time with me," he says,"finds me disagreeable、") Eventually,it becomes clear that the killer's sermon is being preached directly to the two policemen, and that in order to understand it,they may have to risk their lives and souls、"S e7en" is unique in one detail of its construction; it brings the killer onscreen with half an hour to go,and gives him a speaking role、Instead of being simply the quarry in a chase,he is revealed as a twisted but articulate antagonist, who has devised a horrible plan for concluding his sermon、(The actor playing the killer is not identified by name in the ads or opening credits, and so I will leave his identity as another of his surprises、) "S e7en" is well-made in its details, and uncompromising in the way it presents the disturbing details of the crimes、It is certainly not for the young or the sensitive、Good as it is,it misses greatness by not quite finding the right way to end、All of the pieces are in place, all of the characters are in position, and then - I think the way the story ends is too easy、Satisfying, perhaps、But not worthy of what has gone before、What makes S e7en so excellent in my mind is how incredibly real it is、There's the gritty feel to the film, and Fincher uses great shots and locations to effectively pass on his intentions to us、The film is one of the most suspenseful I've ever seen, and that is also attributed to Fincher, not to mention a wonderful musical score、Andrew Walker's script is fantastic、Easily one of the best of all time、It's such a simple concept, but the creation of the characters and the depth anddevelopment of each one is one truly remarkable quality of the script、The best quality of course,is the unpredictable, unorthodox, and scary ending that will make your stomach sink like a weight、The cinematography and editing are brilliant as the film is fluid and seamless、Technically, this film is perfect、Well, anyone who's ever said Brad Pitt is for show obviously hasn't seen this or Fight Club、He's wonderful as the motivated, yet rash and sarcastic David Mills、It's a great character arc,and Pitt plays the complex character with heart and ease、Morgan Freeman、、、what can you say? He's Morgan Freeman,so he's excellent、Once again,a well written character that the actor takes and makes his own、Freeman is magnificent again、Of course, our two detectives are great, but the true standing out of the film is the actor who plays the killer, whose inclusion in the film was kept secret until the day of release、Don't worry,I haven't spoiled anything、He gives a magnificent, yet haunting and disturbing performance that will stick with you for day after day、It is one of the best villainous performances of all time、The final confrontation is spectacular because of him、All in all,S e7en is a must-seeing if you are a movie fan、It's one of the best films I've ever seen, and you'd be a fool to miss this classic、As terrifying as it is suspenseful,S e7en is a thriller that will stick with you,an experience you'll never forget、I cannot recommend this movie more、。
