IC: “To get success, you need friends; to get huge success, you need enemies.” Do you agree with this saying or not? Why or why not?【参考范文】To get success, you need friends; to get huge success, you need enemies. As for the above statement, I do not agree that we need friends to get success while do agree that we need enemies to get huge success. The following are the reasons. With the development of economy and society, the world we live is colorful and complicated. We can not achieve a success unless we cooperation, we also get aids and concern from every direction. Friendship, that is, is crucial for us to have a success. Friends can have a positive effect upon our development. Our friends encourage us, share our anxiety and provide us with help when we are in trouble. Friends may give us advice and suggest us what should be done and what not be done. However, if we wish to have a glorious achievement, in my personal sense, we do require enemies, my reasons for this topic are as follows. To begin with, our enemies reveal our fatal shortcomings, we can become stronger and more capable by giving up these flaws. What is more, the crises come from our enemies wake us keep the consciousnessof competition, we can do every efforts to complete what we ought to do. Last but not least, we can feel the stress from our opponents; the pressure probably is converted to the dynamic that give us sustainable power to enhance ourselves. To sum up, we need enemies to achieve our ambition, they supply us vigorous power to make our dream come true.译文:要成功,你需要朋友;要获得巨大的成功,你需要敌人。

Traffic jam is now a major problem in most cities. However, it seems that people are not prepared to give up their cars and use other forms of transport. Discuss the reasons for the situation and suggest how it might be improved or resolved. With the substantial development of social economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, the number of private cars has been increasing dramatically. However, the problem of traffic jam in many cities is disregarded while people enjoy the convenience of the cars.(With the increasingly rapid economy, more problems are brought to our attention. Traffic jam is one of these problems, which in many cities is disregarded while people enjoy the convenience of the cars.)The problem of traffic jam in cities can be shown in the following aspects. First of all, people are often delayed one or two hours by the traffic jam, and a lot of time has to be wasted on the city roads. What’s more, the large quantity of harmful gas produced during the traffic jams damages the city environment seriously and has negative influence on people’s health. Even so, people are not likely to give up theircars and use other forms of transport. The reason is not only that the cars enable people fully enjoy the freedom of life, and go anywhere they want to go, but also that the cars symbolize the wealth and status of the owners.Based on what has been discussed so far,it follows that some solutions should be found to put an end to the problem of traffic jam in many cities. To begin with, public transport should be improved in order to provide citizens with better services so that they are willing to use their cars less frequently. Another way is to introduce relevant policies and laws to restrict car use, such as time restrictions, road limitations and the raising of oil price etc. Only through these ways can we get out of this dilemma effectively and successfully.欢迎下载,资料仅供参考!!!。

As we embark on this journey ofintellectual exploration, the significance of honing our English writing skills cannot be overstated. This essayaims to provide a template for a high-quality English essay, tailored specifically for CAS doctoral candidates, while maintaining the essence of scientific inquiry and academic rigor.Firstly, it is crucial to establish a clear and concise introduction. This should briefly outline the topic, highlighting its relevance to the field of study and the overall objective of the essay. For instance, if the topicis the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare, the introduction might read: "In the realm of healthcare, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) has revolutionized patient care, diagnosis, and treatment. Thisessay delves into the various applications of AI in healthcare, exploring its potential benefits and addressing the challenges associated with its implementation."Following the introduction, the body of the essay should be structured into several paragraphs, each focusing on a specific aspect of the topic. Each paragraph should begin with a topic sentence that clearly states the main point being discussed. This is followed by supporting evidence, drawn from reliable sources, to strengthen the argument. For example, in discussing the benefits of AI in healthcare, a paragraph might read: "One significantbenefit of AI in healthcare is its ability to enhance diagnostic accuracy. By analyzing vast amounts of medical data, AI algorithms can detect patterns and anomalies that may be missed by human doctors. This has led to earlier diagnosis and improved patient outcomes in various diseases."In addition to presenting facts and figures, it is also important to include personal insights and critical analysis. This not only adds depth to the essay but also demonstrates the author's understanding of the topic andability to think critically. For instance, one could discuss the ethical implications of AI in healthcare, posing questions such as: "While AI has immense potential in healthcare, what are the ethical considerations surrounding its use? How do we ensure that AI-based decisions are fair and transparent, and do not infringe on patient privacy?"The conclusion of the essay should summarize the main points discussed and provide a final perspective on the topic. It is also an opportunity to highlight the significance of the topic and its potential impact on the field of study. 中科院一、2002年3月PART ⅤTRANSLATION (30 minutes, 10 points)Directions: Read the following text carefully and then translate the underlined segments into Chinese. Write your pieces of Chinese version in the proper space on your Answer Sheet Ⅱ.1. Contemporary technological reporting is full of notions of electronic communities in whichpeople interact across regions or entire continents.Could such “virtual communities”eventually replace geographically localized social relations? There are reasons to suspect that, as the foundation for a democratic society, virtual communities will remain seriously deficient.2. For example, electronic communication filters out and alters mush of the subtlety, warmth, contextuality, and so no that seem important to fully human, morally engaged interaction. That is one reason many Japanese and European executives persist in considering face-to-face encounter essential to their business dealings and why many engineers, too, prefer face-to-face encounter essential to their business dealings and why many engineers, too, prefer face-to-face interaction and find it essential to their creativity.3. Even hypothetical new media (e. g. advanced “virtual realities”), conveying a dimensionallyricher sensory display, are unlikely to prove fully satisfactory substitutes for face-to-face interaction. Electronic media decompose holistic experience into analytically distinct sensory dimensions and then transmit the latter. At the receiving end, people can resynthesize the resulting parts into a coherent experience, but the new whole is invariably different and, is some fundamental sense less, than the original.Second, there is evidence that screen-based technologies (such as TV and computer monitors) are prone to induce democratically unpromising psychopathologies, ranging from escapism to passivity, obsession, confusing watching with doing, withdrawal from other forms of social engagement, or distancing from moral consequences.Third, a strength—but also a drawback—to a virtual community is that any member can exit instantly. Indeed, an entire virtual community can decline or perish in the wink of an eye.4. To the extent that membership in virtual communities proves less stable than that obtaining inother forms of democratic community, or that social relations prove less thick (i, e. less embedded in a context filled with shared meaning and history), there could be adverse consequences for individual psychological and moral development.5. no matter with whom we communicate nor how far our imaginations fly, our bodies—and hencemany material interdependencies with other people—always remain locally situated. Thus it seems morally hazardous to commune with far-flung tele-mates, if that means growing indifferent to physical neighbors. It is not encouraging to observe just such indifference in California's Silicon Valley, one of the world' most “highly wired” regions.第五部分英译汉1译文地区之间或大陆之间,人们通过电子技术进行交流而构成一些电子社会,这种概念在现代技术报道中比比皆是。

范文:With the rapid development of society, more and more people in China can afford to buy a car.As a consequence, traffic accidents gradually become a serious problem and bring great inconveniences to people. In my opinion, this problem can be solved from three aspects.Firstly, our government should take drastic measures and enforce a series of effective traffic rules, which must be well acknowledged and understood by every person. Those who do not obey the rules will be punished according to the actual situation.Secondly, the Ministry of Communications should make every effort to better the poor traffic environment. We need traffic police to be responsible for their job. If our policemen can be committed to what they are doing, the traffic condition will surely be improved.Thirdly, every member of the society should realize the seriousness of traffic accidents, which not only bring mischief to the drivers themselves, but also lead their families into bitterness. As drivers, they should not drink alcohol before driving. As walkers, they should not cross the street when red light is still on.In a word, it is the task of the whole society to solve the traffic accidents. I believe the traffic accidents will be reduced through the endeavor of everyone, and our society will have a nice traffic order and environment. 中科院考博英语作文Title: The Vital Role of Scientific Collaboration in Advancing Human Knowledge。

Scientific collaboration stands as the cornerstone of progress in our modern world. In an era where complex challenges require multidisciplinary solutions, the importance of collaboration among scientists from diverse backgrounds cannot be overstated. This essay delves into the significance of scientific collaboration, examining its benefits and exploring how it propels humanity forward.First and foremost, scientific collaboration fosters innovation. By bringing together minds with varied expertise and perspectives, collaboration cultivates a fertile ground for the cross-pollination of ideas. In such collaborative environments, researchers can leverage their collective strengths to tackle intricate problems that transcend the boundaries of individual disciplines. This synergy often leads to breakthroughs that would have beenunattainable through solitary efforts.Furthermore, collaboration enhances the efficiency of scientific endeavors. In an interconnected world where information flows rapidly, collaboration allows researchers to access a broader pool of resources, data, and methodologies. By sharing resources and expertise, scientists can avoid duplication of effort and accelerate the pace of discovery. This streamlined approach not only optimizes resource utilization but also enables researchers to address pressing challenges with greater agility and effectiveness. Moreover, scientific collaboration promotes diversity and inclusivity within the scientific community. By engaging scientists from different cultural, social, and academic backgrounds, collaboration enriches the scientific discourse and brings forth a multiplicity of perspectives. This diversity not only fuels creativity but also ensures that scientific research is more representative and relevant to global concerns. Inclusive collaboration also provides opportunities for underrepresented groups tocontribute their unique insights and expertise, thereby fostering a more equitable scientific landscape.Additionally, collaboration strengthens the integrity and rigor of scientific research. Through peer review and interdisciplinary scrutiny, collaborative projects undergo rigorous evaluation, ensuring that findings are robust and reliable. The collective scrutiny of peers helps identify potential biases, errors, or oversights, thereby upholding the highest standards of scientific integrity. This collaborative quality assurance process safeguards the credibility of scientific findings and bolsters publictrust in the scientific enterprise.Furthermore, scientific collaboration transcends geopolitical boundaries, fostering international cooperation and diplomacy. In an increasingly interconnected world, global challenges such as climate change, pandemics, and food insecurity necessitate collaborative efforts on a global scale. By fostering innovation, enhancing efficiency, promoting diversity and inclusivity, strengthening scientific integrity, and fostering international cooperation, collaboration serves as the driving force behind scientific progress. As we navigate the complexities of the 21st century, fostering a culture of collaboration must remain a priority, ensuring that we harness the collective wisdom of humanity to create a brighter future for all. This essay was written in response to a prompt that highlights the importance of scientific collaboration in advancing human knowledge. Many people believe that we have developed into a “throw-away society” which is filling with plastic bags and rubbish. What do you think?Wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. It is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. Wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.(The environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. People consume great amount of natural resources and produce wastes. )A lot of waste produced is made up of packaging materials. They are reported that 38 percent of all litter dumped is made of plastic. Paper, which comes in at second place, represents 15 percent of all litter dumped. The disposable dishware can be seen everywhere. Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. (People produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of sense of responsibility or efforts.)“Why should Icare while others do not care?” Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work.To effectively solve such problems, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. For instance, from 1stJune 2008 people are encouraged to use recycling bags when they buy items in supermarket. More and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life after they learn the harm of their garbage.( Companies are continually replacing the old materials with more environmental and recyclable kinds. ) Some old people give an on-the-spot fine for somebody caught throwing a junk food wraps. To sum up, if we take some effective measures immediately, if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment, our world will not turn into a “throw away” society欢迎下载,资料仅供参考!!!。

中科院考博英语 培训资料(作文范文) 全球变暖

中科院考博英语培训资料(作文范文)全球变暖What should governments do to help prevent global warming? Give reasons for your suggestions. The earth’s temperature is rapidly changing. As a result there has been a lot of climate change such as heat waves, droughts or floods and earthquake. Scientists believe that this is the result of human activity, which is polluting the Earth’s atmosphere. This could become a disaster if governments do not act to help prevent global warming. They can act in three ways; by supporting research, by making laws and by keeping the general public informed.Firstly, governments can support research. For example, they should encourage companies to develop vehicles that cause less pollution. They should also support alternative sources of electricity from wind and water rather than from oil and coal. As well, they should sponsor conferences to discuss the effects of greenhouse gas emissions and possible solutions to the problem.Secondly, they should make laws that limit the amount of greenhouse gases that companies can emit. Private companies should be rewarded for following theselaws. They should also be punished for creating pollution. Finally, everybody is affected by global warming. Therefore, it is important that governments involve individuals in the problem solving process. For example they should encourage households to save as much energy as possible by using more efficient light bulbs or less hot water. They should also encourage the public to recycle, and this should be compulsory for everyone. Another way of saving energy is by public transport systems. Governments should spend money on public transport to make it as easy as possible for the public to save energy. In summary, it is clear that there are a lot of things that governments can do to prevent global warming. They should involve companies, support scientists and encourage individuals to protect the planet.。
