【归纳】

★ behave作“行为，表现”讲时，常与副词well, badly, wonderfully, properly等连用；也常用于behave like, behave as if / as though结构，意为“表现得像……”。如：She always behaves well / badly when her aunts come to visit.

Bob behaved like a perfect gentleman at the party.

They never greet each other and behave as if / as though they were strangers.

★ behave还可作“表现得有礼貌，规规矩矩”讲，可构成短语behave oneself，意为“表现得体，有礼貌”。如：

She doesn’t know how to behave in public.

Unless you behave yourself, you won’t get any presents.
