Nirvana of ‘made in China’

I remembered that I participated in a summer camp in Hong Kong 10 years ago. It was my very first time leaving the mainland. And I remembered clearly that my dear relatives reminded me that I must be careful for not buying gifts made in China on the land of Hong Kong. Sadly, I didn’t make it.

The truth is that made-in-China products are everywhere. According to Wikipedia, 20 percent of goods in the entire world come from China. Whether they are clothes or computers, every kind of goods carries a label saying ‘made in China’.

However, at the same time, I find that people never like our products. Though the quantity of made-in-China products is large enough, the quality of them is in question continuously. In the movie 127 hours, when the leading character who trapped in a deep canyon wanted to use a Swiss Army Knife to get himself out of danger, he sadly found his knife was made in China. Starting from a small factory in Shenzhen, Huawei now has thousands of patents and owns the silver medal in the world communication market. Besides, there are excellent companies coming every day.

Instead of a helpless choice, the revolution of Chinese manufactures is more like a nirvana. There must be pain in losing profits in some areas, but giving up something gives us strength and opportunity to do something else that we should do. If we want to develop, we should not only realize that we have to compete in the unfair world like what we did 30 years ago with amazing perseverance and tenacious spirit, but also know that we are no longer what we were 30 years ago.

I have faith in changing our country from the ‘world’s factory’ into the world’s manufacture powerhouse. I hope things like my experience 10 years ago would never happen, and after the
