一、情绪

（一）Hesitate (犹豫)

1.She tried on the ornaments before the mirror, hesitated and could not make up her mind to part with(分开) them, to give them back.

2.Then she asked, hesitating, filled with anxious doubt.

3.His eyes lifted slowly, met Mariam’s, linger ed （徘徊）for a moment, then dropped. He opened his mouth, but all that came forth was a single, pained groan. 呻吟。He crossed and uncrossed his arms.(手盘起来又放下)

4.One flight（一段楼梯）up Della ran, and paused for a moment, panting. 气喘吁吁She was wondering whether she should open the door.

（二）Nervous/Frightened（紧张、害怕）

1.I felt so scared/nervous that my throat tightened and my knees felt weak.

2.Her stomach was grip ped with anxiety,因为焦虑胃抽搐了like a volcano erupt ing inside her.

3.As I prepared to confess（坦白）, I took a deep breath and swallowed hard(抑制强烈的感情).

4.At the theater, nervousness overtook\held me as i realized how much i wanted to make my parents proud.紧张焦虑

5.I said nervously, my voice trembling a bit.

6.... I replied, feeling a lump(块状物) rise in my throat.

7.I was too scared to move an inch and my palms were sweating/my palms grew sweaty.

8.With a pounding heart and cold, moist palms, I felt faint.

9.I froze with terror, too scared to move an inch.

10.I was seized by a sudden impulse（冲动）to run.

11.Fear took hold of me. / Panic seized us.

12.Time seemed to stop as I held my breath, waiting for the harsh punishments that I deserved.

14.I chew ed my lip.

15.I tossed and turned all night.彻夜难眠

16.And suddenly everything went green, like right before a tornado.（一切变得昏暗）My ears were ring ing（耳鸣）, I felt dizzy（头晕）, and I threw up（呕吐）.

17.I tensed, waiting for the barrage （连珠炮似的）of verbal punishment.(责骂)

18.Every nerve 神经in his body warned him not to go any further.

23. A burst of horror held me totally in its power, and I was unable to move an inch.
