The feature of Nanjing‟s culture

Nanjing, as known as ancient capital of six dynasties, is famous for its rich treasure of history and culture. The urban scenario of Nanjing is composed of historical and cultural relics, modern and civilized economics. The development of the society, as well as the history, makes contribution to the nowadays Nanjing‟s culture. It takes on the following traits: being tolerant; being steady; being honest and sincere.

When it comes to Nanjing, people will first think one thing---the Nanjing Massacre, which caused lots of pain on Nanjing‟s people. 70 years ago, the ancient capital of Nanjing became the rivers of blood; there are numerous bones of the dead. 30 million people were killed. Everyone in Nanjing remember the history clearly. On December 13 every year, Nanjing will pull alarm, all the Nanjing people will stop the things in the hands to mourn the victims in silence, which has become symbolic of the cultural phenomenon of Nanjing, Nanjing, and this crime also makes people in Nanjing love and hate clear.

Beside, this disaster makes us learn to be tolerant. Most people are very tolerant.

On the monument in the cemetery of Sun yat-sen, there are two Chinese characters called …bo ai …, which means has great love that can bear with everything, reflecting the broad-mind of Nanjing‟s people.

This affect me a lot, when I face the something bad that others do to me, I often choose to forgive others, not secretly angry. So I can have a good mood.

In addition, as the origin of Nanjing‟s culture. Qinghuai River can‟t be forgotten.

As the Y ellow river is the mother river of china, the Qinghuai River is the mother river of Nanjing. Not only because it feed our ancestors, but also because it is the origin of Nanjing‟s culture. Beside the river, there is a Confucius temple, which was known as the place where Confucius teaches his student. The key point of Confucius‟s view is …”zhong yong”, which affect the citizen of Nanjing.

“Zhong yong” means that once a person thinks about something suddenly, he will do it immediately. And the man does not want be the best one, instead, they just want an ordinary and stable life. I think this view deeply influence most of the Nanjing‟s people, as well as me.

Today, there are still old citizen of Nanjing live around the qinghuai river. They do not busy working for their life. Their life is very relaxed. If they feel tied, they just go sleep. Sometimes they call some friends to play cards and drink teas. Though they do not have much money, they are happy everyday.

Actually, Nanjing, as a big city, has the best economy condition. However, on the country, people in Nanjing are not addict to earning money and
