过去完成时had/had not done

一、表示一个动作或状态在过去某一时间或动作之前已经完成或结束，强调过去的过去（而一般过去时表示过去某时或某段时间里发生的动作或存在的状态）

1. The meeting_______( start) at six o’clock.

The meeting_______(start)when we arrived at the hall.

表示过去连续发生的动作或平行并列的动作用什么时态？

想一想，过去完成时是不是多用在宾语从句中？

想一想，by 常和什么时态连用？

注意：一连串的动作由and 或but连接时，用一般过去时

He went downstairs, crossed the street and went on a bus.

He bought a volleyball but later lost it.

二、过去完成时的特殊用法

1.用在虚拟语气里

If I had known that you were busy last night, I wouldn’t have called.

(事实是:I did n’t know that…)

I wish I had gone with you to the concert.(事实是：I didn’t go with you)

I wish he had been here yesterday.(事实是：he wasn’t here yesterday)

I would rather you had told me the truth.(事实是：you didn’t tell me the truth)

2.过去完成时还可表示过去未曾实现的希望、打算、或意图适用于下面一些动词hope, expect ,think, intend ,mean(=intend) ,suppose ,want

We had hoped that you would be able to visit.

I had meant to call on you. but was prevented from doing so.

They had wanted to help but could n’t get here in time.

3.固定句式

1.It was the first time that I_________(be)there.

This is the second time that I ________(late)

2.hardly….when…., no sooner …than…..

He had hardly arrived when it began to rain.

=Hardly _____he arrived when it began to rain.

过去完成进行时（现在完成进行时：）

had been doing 表示一个动作从过去某时开始，一直延续到另一个过去时

刻，到那个时刻，该动作可能刚刚终止，也可能还在继续

I was tired when you saw me yesterday because____________(run)

I’m tired, because I___________(run).

He arrived towards evening. We________(expect) him for some time.

had been done 和had been doing 你能分开吗？

将来完成时

will/shall have done

表示将来某一时刻前业已完成的动作

You will have completed the elementary English course by this time next year.

I’ll have finished my work by five this afternoon.
