The second story
• The brute（残忍的） chef killed and then cooked the lame sailor.Pi's mother knew that and argued with the chef.After that,the chef killed Pi's mother.Chef's behavior angered Pi and aroused Pi's nature,then， the chef was killed by Pi.
They took a Japanese freighter（货船） to Canada.Unfortunately,they suffered a shipwreck（海难),and only Pi ,a broken leg of zebra,a hyena(鬣 狗),a gorilla and a Bengal tiger(孟加拉 虎） named Richard Parker survived on a lifeboat. In the first three days of drifting,the hyena killed the zebra and ate the gorilla.And then,Parker killed the hyena.After that,Pi's juvenile sea survival with a ferocious tiger began.

Background
Pi,is an Indian boy who loves religion（he is Christian,Hindu,and Muslim）.His farther runs a zoo,and he understands the habits of animals very much.After the collapse（瓦解， 倒塌）of the government at that time ,also because they lack of fouds to operate the zoo,Pi's family decide to immigrate to Canada and sell these animals.
