1.古琴台，中国人的情谊典范

An Exemplar of Chinese Friendship

古琴台，又名伯牙台，位于城中心龟山西麓，月湖东畔。相传两千多年前的中国春秋时期，晋国大夫俞伯牙在此鼓琴抒怀，山上的樵夫钟子期能识其音律，知其志在高山流水。伯牙便视子期为知己。几年以后，伯牙又路过龟山，得知子期已经病故，悲痛不已的他即破琴绝弦，终身不复鼓琴，后人感其情谊深厚，特在此筑台以纪念。

The Ancient Heptachord Terrace，also known as Boya Terrace, is located at the west foot of the Tortoise Hill and by the east side of the Yuehu(Crescent) Lake. During China’s Spring and Autumn Period more than 2,000 years ago, the famous musician Yu Boya of the Jin Kingdom played ancient heptachord here to express his inner self. When a woodcutter ZhongZiqi heard his melodies, he understood that the musician’s thoughts were upon mountains and waterfalls. Thus, Boya took Ziqi as a soul mate. A few years later, Boya passed by the Tortoise Hill once again and received the news of Ziqi’s death due to illness. In melancholy, Boya broke his heptachord and never again in his life played any music. Later generations were deeply moved by the deepness of their friendship and built this terrace as commemoration.

2.红楼

位于武昌黄鹤楼下的红楼，建于1910年，是辛亥首义的历史见证。1911年10月10日爆发的武昌起义，从清军手中夺下武汉三镇。一年后，中华明国临时政府宣布成立，孙中山被推举为临时大总统，宣布了两千年中国封建帝制的灭亡。作为湖北军政府的办公地，红楼是指挥这场惊天伟业的中枢神经，这里开启了中国社会激变的时代。

Adjacent to Wuchang’s Yellow Crane Town, the Red Mansion, constructed in 1910 is the witness of XInhai Revolution’s first uprising. The Wuchang Uprising took place on 10 Oct,1911 and seized control of the three towns that constitute Wuhan from the Qing forces. A year later, the Provisional President of the Republic of China was established and Sun Yatsen was elected the Provisional President, ending two thousand years of imperialism in China. As office area of the Hubei Military Government, the Red Mansion was the instruction center of this impressive movement. This was where times of radical social change in China began.

3.江汉关，中国最大内陆港口

Jianghan Customs The largest inland port of China

1861年，汉口开埠。美、英、法、俄、日、荷等20多个国家来汉经商，包括美国花旗银行在内的250余家洋行、商号云集汉口，设立分支机构，汉口一跃成为中国最大内陆港口、第二大贸易口岸，成为仅次于上海的最大商业都市，“东方芝加哥”的美名因此声名远播。

In 1861, Hankou has opened to the outside world. There are merchants from more than 20 countries started their business here, such as from America, Britain, France, Russia, Japan,

Netherlands, etc. Besides, there are more than 250 foreign companies, including Citibank from America, set up branches in Hankou, making it the largest inland port and second largest trade port in China. Regarded as the largest commercial municipality only next to Shanghai, Wuhan has been named as “Oriental Chicago”.

4.长江第一隧

The Yangtze River Tunnel

敢为天下先的武汉人，不仅造了长江第一桥，更有一个梦想，在洪水滔滔的长江下面建一条隧道！这个梦想于2008年底实现了，万里长江第一隧——武汉长江隧道建成通车。隧道总建筑长度3630米，分左、右两条隧洞，每线各设两条车道，设计车速60公里/小时。从武昌中心直达汉口中心，经隧道过江仅需4分钟。长江隧道的贯通，使武汉地区的立体交通网更加丰富、高效。

The Wuhan people with strong pioneering spirit have a larger inspiration beyond constructing the No.1 Bridge across the Yangtze River; they are going to construct a tunnel right under the Yangtze River. By the end of 2008, this dream has finally come true—the first tunnel across Yangtze River has been accomplished and put into use. The total length of the Tunnel is 3630 meters, which is composed of two underground passages, with each being equipped with two traffic lanes with a designed speed of 60 km/h. Through the Tunnel, it will take merely 4 minutes to travel from the center of Wuchang to Hankou. Yangtze River Tunnel has made the transportation in urban area of Wuhan much more varied and effective.

5.汉正街，天下第一街。

Hanzheng Street the No.1 Street in the World

这是汉口最古老的一条街道。500年前，改道后的汉水入江口，被称为汉口，这里千帆竞发，百舸争流，九省物流，由此通江达海，货到汉口活。汉正街更是商贾云集，交易兴盛，市场繁荣。被称为“江湖连接，无地不通，一舟出门，万物唯意”。汉正街因此勃兴，成就天下第一街。

This is the most ancient street in Hankou. 500 years ago,the conjunctions of Hanjiang River into Yangtze River was regarded as Hankou, where there are several ships and boats transferring logistics and goods from all over China to different places. There is a saying goes, “The goods can be transported everywhere once they arrived in Hankou.”In Hanzheng Street, there are merchants from everywhere and business and trade thriving. Hanzheng Street has been regarded as “a place connected with lakes and rivers, once goods are shipped from here, they can reach everywhere they want”. Hanzheng Street has become the No.1 Street in the world ever since that.

6.中国第一名楼｜黄鹤楼

The First Tower of China｜The Yellow Crane Tower

始建于1，800年前的黄鹤楼，中国5A级旅游胜地，座落于城市中心。长江畔边蛇山之上，2009年初被评为中国最美名楼。

First built 1,800 years ago, the Yellow Crane Tower is 5A-rank tourist attraction which locates in the city center, next to the Yangtze River and on the Snake Hill. In 2009, it won the title of “the Most Beautiful Tower in China”.
