情緒形容詞用法

1.過去分詞(-ed)與現在分詞(-ing)

(1)過去分詞(-ed)與現在分詞(-ing)都是由動詞所衍生而來,如surprise (使…驚訝),surprised(感到驚訝的),surprising(令人驚訝的)。

(2)過去分詞修飾人,作「感到…的」解。現在分詞修飾事物,作「令人…

的」解。

例1:an interested man (一個感興趣的人)

例2:He got scared. (他感到害怕。)

例3 : It’s scaring. (它很令人害怕。)

例4 : A surprising thing happened. (一件令人驚訝的事情發生了。)

【注意】「現在分詞」有四個字,可以形容某人是「令人…的」,如interesting (令人有趣的),boring(令人厭煩的),scaring(令人害怕的),impressing

(令人印象深刻的)。

練習:改括號中的動詞為適當的分詞:

(1)We were all when we heard about the good news.

(surprise)

(2) It’s sometimes when you have to ask people for money.

(embarrass)

(3) I seldom visit museums. I’m not very in old things.

2.動詞,過去分詞(-ed)與現在分詞(-ing)的互換

(1)動詞,過去分詞與現在分詞,三者可以互換。不過,首先要背熟以下各過去分詞的重要片語:

interested in(對…感到興趣)

surprised at(對…感到驚訝)

bored with(對…感到厭煩)

tired of(對…感到厭倦)人+be(或連綴V)+embarrassed about+受詞(對…感到困

窘)

worried about(對…感到擔心)

excited about (對…感到興奮)

impressed by (with)(對…印象深刻)

(2)現在分詞後面要加介詞時,一律用to。以下是三者互換的例子,請參閱其他情形,依此類推:

例1:English interests me. (英文使我感興趣。)

=I am interested in English.(我對英文感興趣。)

=English interests me.(英文對我來說很有趣。)

例2:His words surprised me. (他的話使我驚訝。)

=I was surprised at his words. (我對他的話感到驚訝。)

=His words were surprising to me. (他的話對我來說令人驚訝。)
