The Wuyi mountain
Good afternoon everyone,It is my great honor to stand here to share sth with you.
my name is li NO.25. and I come from Nanping of Fujian province. just like my great partner DD,I will talk to you sth about my hometown. So,today ,the topic of my presentation is wuyi mountain.
My presentation is divide into three parts:
Brief introduction
Natural landscapes
Cultural heritage
Now that is go to the first part:
Wuyi Mountain is located in the north of Fujian Province；the city wuyishan is named for this mountain. Mount Wuyi is one of the most outstanding subtropical forests in the world. It is the largest, most representative example of a largely intact forest
encompassing the diversity of the Chinese Subtropical Forest and the South Chinese Rainforest. It acts as a refuge for a large number of ancient, relict plant species, many of them endemic to China and contains large numbers of reptile, amphibian and insect species. In 1988 it was listed as one of the world's biosphere protection areas.
With its great scenery and wealth of cultural relics, in December 1999, Wuyi
Mountain was put on the list of World Cultural and Natural Heritage by the UN World Heritage Committee, thus becoming the fourth in China after Mt. Taishan, Mt.
Huangshan, and Mt. Emei.
Next I am going to talk about some main natural landscapes in this area.
First one also the most important one , Nine-twist Stream(九曲溪)is named for its shape that a stream run as a curve which has nine bends. It looks like a dragon around the mountain. It takes about 2 hours to drift down the stream by means of a very old type of bamboo raft（竹筏.）During this two hours ,you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes ,which contains many famous scenic spots of wuyi mountain. including, king of peaks, the sight, waterfall cave, etc. So this experience is unique and memorable. No visitor should miss the chance.
Because this peak is shaped like an ancient Chinese majestic official's hat, people call it Great King Peak. It sits commandingly at the mouth of the Nine-Twist Stream, southeast of the Wuyi Palace. Standing on the 530-meter peak, it greets tourists as they set out their trip.
Located south of the second twist and facing a big deep pool, this peak looks like a girl standing gracefully. The rock in Jade Maiden Peak appears skin-smooth while the dewy-green grass and tree sat the top suggest a girl's hair. As we look at the peak's reflection in the water, we can imagine a graceful, deep-in-thought, traditional girl, wishing for a bright future. This peak symbolizes the beauty of Wuyi scenery. Now, let’s go to the last part: Cultural heritage. First a mysterious Funeral ceremony: Hanging Coffins.The hanging coffin was a custom of the local people. They think the pillar is more closed to the heaven. When people were died, they would be hung on the manmade or natural cave. The higher he was hung, the more respectable he was.
But until today we don’t know how The original people put these heavy coffin up to The steep cliff. It’s a mystery.

He went to study in wuyi mountain when he was thirteen years old. He had live and teach in the wuyi mountain more than 40 years during his whole life.
When he was 53 years old. he founded the ziyang academy in wuyi mountain, During the teaching in ziyang academy, he done a lot of academic works including<sishujizhu> and <chucijizhu> and so on.
•His Profound academic background and charming personality Attracting thousands of students from all over the country come here to study. Mount Wuyi was the
cradle of Neo-Confucianism, Confucianism was spread widely ,As a result, ziyang academy has been hailed as the first private university in China
From then on a doctrine that played a dominant role in the countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Asia for many centuries and influenced philosophy and government over much of the world.
Finally, I want to talk about sth about tea culture. Wuyi rock tea, gained the name for tea tree growth in the rock.Wuyi rock tea belongs to wulong tea.It’s main varieties "dahongpao", "goal", "cinnamon", etc. And one of the most famous is dahongpao, dahongpao, is the representative of the wuyi rock tea quality.it Growth in the cliffs, the special natural environment, make the specific quality , dahongpao tea existing 6 strains, tea production is less than 1 kg each year, the real dahongpao trees 4.95 million/kg is the price of tea。

And in order to protect it, from 2006, the government have been Against picking it. In other words,Even if you are a millionaire, also can't buy dahongpao What a pity!
