This guide will walk you through what you need to do NOW in order to maintain your candidacy with Qatar Airways. Delay in the submission of complete medical
documentation WILL delay confirmation of your employment and on-boarding formalities.
PLEASE DO THIS NOW:
1. Complete the attached Pre Employment Medical Questionnaire (PEM) with a doctor.
Good general health with no disability which could compromise or impede continuous effective fulfilment of duties is a pre-requisite to employment with Qatar Airways and its group subsidiaries.
Pre-existing medical conditions requiring medical care, specialist follow-up, surgery or regular medication must be declared. Failure to declare such, will adversely affect your employment.
All active, chronic or potentially relapsing conditions must be specifically highlighted and full details (including a specialists report) are to be forwarded to your joining coordinator for assessment at the Qatar Airways Medical Centre.
Please be advised that the following medical conditions (either active or a past history thereof) may preclude your recruitment:

Look for a graph on your report. If there is no graph, this is not sufficient.Your audiogram graph must range from 250 to 8000 Khz
Binocular Vision
Your doctor must use the Snellen Chart in “20/20” visual activity format. We do not accept any other kind of test or reporting format.
Medical expenses or other costs incurred during these formalities are NOT reimbursable.
Government Medical Commission: All people arriving in Qatar with an intention of obtaining a Residence Permit must undergo full medical screenings by the Government Medical Commission. Employment will be terminated if a candidate is medically unfit, the infectious disease profile is abnormal, or if the chest X-ray is abnormal.
Qatar Airways Medical Clinic (QRMC): You will undergo an employment medical examination at the QRMC upon your arrival in Qatar to commence work.
We advise that any dental work that needs attention should be completed before your arrival, since dental treatment is expensive in Doha.
Colour vision (Ishihara Test)
Your doctor must use the Ishihara method.
Your doctor must comment on the report how many plates were used in the test, and how many were read correctly. Your doctor must use at least 15 plates in the test.
3. CHECK your medical reports against the above instructions. If any information is missing, you will be required to re-do the process.
4. Make sure all of your reports are completely translated into English by a professional translator or your doctor. The translation must be stamped and signed.
5. Send your reports and documentation to your joining coordinator You may undergo medical examination and testing at any accredited medical clinic or facility. We do not have a specific list of approved clinics.
