定语从句的译法

1.前置：把较短的定语从句译成带有“的”的前置定语

（1）He who doesn't want to be a general isn't a good soldier.

不想当将军的士兵不是好士兵。（2）Would you please take away the magazine which is lying on the desk?

请你帮我把桌上那本杂志带走，好吗？

（3）I still remember the days when we were at college.

我依然记得我们大学时代的美好时光。

（4）The hotel where we stayed while in London was both inexpensive and comfortable.

我们在伦敦逗留的那段时间居住的宾馆既便宜有舒适。

2.后置：把结构较为复杂或长的定语从句，后置译成并列分句。

（5）Alice is a star of Hollywood who has undergone a professional training in Paris Ballet Center. 爱丽丝是好莱坞的一位明星，她曾在巴黎的芭蕾中心接受过专业的训练。（6）They drove to the railway station, where they departed.

他们开车到了火车站，在那分了手。

3.逻辑关系

将从句译成带有逻辑关系的分句

（7）No one in the company likes their boss, who is stingy and

bad-tempered.

公司里没有人喜欢老板，因为他小气而又脾气暴躁。

（8）They quarreled with each other every day, which led to their divorce.

这对夫妻天天吵架，最终以离婚收场。

（9）My father, who thought it might not work, supported me.

虽然我的父亲认为这个办法可能没有用，但是依然支持我。

（10）This company, which wants to get their new product sold well in the market, is trying hard to perfect its packing and workmanship.

为了使新产品热销，这家公司正在全力改进工艺和外包装。

（11）Anyone who works hard and never gives up will succeed.
