By Court poet – Lorenzo Da Ponte (like Cosi and Figaro) Based on a very well known existing story. Don Juan is a stock character. Da Ponte and Mozart worked closely together on the opera right up to the performance.
This portrait of him was painted in 1762, when he was six years old.
Children during Mozart’s time dressed just like adults. He just finished playing for Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.
