An Introduction to the Novel
• The nine-year-old boy Bruno leaves his home in Berlin, together with his parents and 12year-old sister, moves to a place called “ OutWith” , where the only attraction is the people over the wire fence who wear the same stripped clothes and hats. • Bruno hates the life here, because he is lonely, until one day he meets a boy named Shmuel in the other side of the fence. They talk everyday and become friends . • One day, Bruno dresses in stripped clothes crawls below the fence and makes his last exploration.
John Boyne(约 翰· 伯恩),born in 1971 in Berlin, Ireland , is a new star in Ireland writing circle. The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas is his fourth published novel,which is rewarded all around the world.
