A: Good afternoon, everyone! Today is Monday. My name is XXX. I’m from Class X, Grade X. Welcome to our Happy English Time.

B: My name is Jane.
A: I am twelve years old. How old are you?
B: I’ m twelve, too.
A: What class are you in?
B: I’m in Class Four, Grade Seven. Are you in Class Four, too?
A: No, I’m not. I’m in Class Five.
B: 问名字要说What’s your name?
A: 问年龄要说How old are you?
B: 问班级要说What class are you in?
A: Secondly, I’m going to share you a short stories about differences between Chinese culture and Western culture. 接下来我们将给大家讲一个关于中西方文化差异的小故事----处处都漂亮。一位外国朋友不知道中国人的“哪里!哪里!”是自谦词。一次他参加一对年轻华侨的婚礼时,很有礼貌地赞美新娘非常漂亮,一旁的新郎代新娘说了声:“哪里!哪里!”
不料,这位朋友却吓了一大跳!想不到笼统地赞美,中国人还不过瘾,还需举例说明,于是便用生硬的中国话说:“头发、眉毛、眼睛、耳朵、鼻子、嘴都漂亮!”结果引起全场哄堂大笑。
B: 哈哈,这个故事太有意思了,当接受别人的夸奖时,不能再说where where啦,得说一句“Thank you!”
