The life cycle is unusual in that one animal serves as both definitive and intermediate host infective stage: Encysted larva parasitic location: adult---intestine; larva---skeletal muscle route of infection: per-oral pathogenic stage: larve , adult
trichinosis ( trichinelliasis ,旋毛虫病）.
Morphology

The females measure 3 to 4
mm in length. The uterus is The males are 1.4 to filled with eggs and larvea. 1.5 mm in length.

The larvae in striated muscle are a spiral ，and becoming encysted. The cysts look like shuttle . The cysts are about 0.25~0.5 x 0.21~0.42 mm.

片镜检幼虫是确诊本病的依据。可将患者
吃剩的肉用同法检查以资佐证。
