1. surround vt.包围surround...with/by... 使...包围...

be surrounded with/by被...包围

He likes to surround himself with amusing people.

surrounding adj.周围的Standing on the mountain top, we admired the surrounding scenery.

2.measure vt.测量;衡量

It's hard to measure his ability when we haven't seen his work.

Use a rule to measure the width of that cloth.
