The original World Trade Center was a complex with seven buildings featuring landmark twin towers in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. Groundbreaking for the World Trade Center took place on August 5, 1966. The complex opened on April 4, 1973, and was destroyed in 2001 during the September 11 attacks.
With the 110-meter-tall mast, the highest point of the North Tower reached 527 m. The South Tower's rooftop observation deck was 415 m.
