The effects of the discovery of the new world Columbus, an Italian navigator, found the new world in October 12, 1492. This discovery made the Europeans knew that the world was not only made up of Europe, Asia, and Africa but also other place.

One of the effects is that it makes the world more completed. When the new world was discovered, the Europeans found many new species in the new world—including tobacco, rice and vastly expanded production of sugar. They also took the old world’s food and animals to the new world. New foods reshaped the diets of people in both hemispheres. More and more people went to the new world to find wealth. So, the connections between several continents were more closed.

Second is that it contributed to the development of the Europe’s economy. As we all knew that the new world had a lot of gold and some other valuable things. The invaders robbed them in spite of the justice and conscience. The wealth gathered in Europe and this just met the need of the Europe’s economic development.

The third one is the bad influence when people find the new world.When Europeans settled there, they drove the original Indians out of their home. They even killed them with no reason.

The Europeans also took the infectious diseases which not existed in the new world. The diseases, against which Indian peoples had no natural immunities, caused the greatest mass deaths in human history.

The last one is about the Black slaves. As the number of the Indians decreased, the new land lost a lot of labor. The Europeans had to buy the black slaves to work for them. As a result, the United States appeared racial discrimination phenomenon.

In light of the history, the discovery of the new world is more benefit. It promoted the development of the world and expanded the people's perspective.
