Fifth ventricle, also called cavum septum pellucidum, is a slitlike, fluid-filled space of variable width between the left and right transparent septum. Sixth ventricle, also called cavum vergae, is the posterior extension of the cavum septi pellucidi. The Verga's ventricle is not a true ventricle since it did not develop from the central canal of the nueral tube and it does not contain cerebrospinal fluid nor it is lined by ependyma.
