Step 1: Revision

1. Warm-up

a. Greeting with students.

T: Good morning boys and girls.

Ss: Good morning Miss Deng.

T: How are you?

b. Sing a song. “1,2,3,4,5, …Stand up.”

2. Review

a. Ask and answer.

Some pictures for students. (pen, pencil, schoolbag …)

One student to be a little teacher: What’s it?

Ss: It’s a …

b. Game: Magic eyes.

Some pictures. (bird, desk, window, door, cat, dog)

Step 2:

The last picture of Magic eyes is dog.

Then the teacher points to this picture and asks: “ Is it a dog?

Ss: Yes.

Step 3: Presentation

1. Learn the answer of the question “Is it a …?”

(1) Learn the answer “ No, it isn’t.”.

Take out a picture of cat, then asks “ Is it a dog?”

Guides the student to answer and teaches : No, it isn’t.

Emphasize the pronunciation of No, it isn’t.

Drill: T: Is it a …?

Ss: No, it isn’t.

(2) Learn the answer “ Yes, it is.”.

Take out a pic ture of dog, then asks “ Is it a dog?”

Guides the student to answer and teaches :Yes, it is.

Emphasize the pronunciation of Yes, it is.

Drill: T: Is it a …?

Ss: Yes, it is.

(4) Practice.: A game for students.

Choose two little teachers, one is called “Yes, it is.” Anothe r one is called “No, it isn’t.” Teacher asks : Is it a …? Students choose the answer. Then “Yes, it is.” or “No, it isn’t.” will jump to the teacher.

T: Is it a …?

Ss: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.

2. Learn the sentence: Is it a …?

T: If you don’t know how to say what’s this, you can ask “Is it a …?”

Teach: Is it a …?

Drill: Use some cards to practice.

Is it a door / pencil Practice.

(1) Guessing game. show a picture.

A student comes to the front to guess “Is it a …?” Others j udge “Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t..”

(2) Brain storm. Test your memory.

Ss: Is it a …?

4. Learn the new word: kite

(1) Teacher show a part of the picture, then asks students to guess what’s this?

Ss: Is it a …?

(2) At last, show the whole picture, it’s a kite. Teach: kite 5. About the dialogue.

(1) Read after the tape

(2) Act the dialogue.

Step 4: Extension

Give a present to your friend. Ask them to guess what’s this?

A: Is it a …?

B: Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.

B: It’s for you.
