Environmental Management/Quality Assurance Manual Ⅰ General 1.1 Scope and Purpose Quality Assurance manual is a standard that describes systematically the quality policy being observed by the Vacuum Cleaner division and basic matters related to quality and environment. It establishes and implements a system to prevent defects in advance, through quality assurance activity. This manual has Korean version and English version. This manual applies to all activities related to quality at all stages from design/development of Vacuum Cleaner division product through to servicing. And, all the activity related to environmental management shall be controlled by the description of the Environmental management manual (LG(69)-A-2001). The application purpose of this manual is to manage more efficiently and systematically the quality system applied in order to prevent the quality defects of products being produced in Vacuum Cleaner division in advance, and to meet customer requirements. This manual consists of 7 requirements from Quality Management through to Measurement, analysis and improvement in accordance with international standard ISO 9000 with updated 2002 Version. Among products being produced in the Vacuum Cleaner division the products approved by ISO-9000 from UL Korea are Vacuum Cleaner . Hence, other products shall be excluded from the range of the approval. This manual shall be controlled as described in Standard control procedures (LG(71)-A-2503), and when any difference exists between Korean version and English version, Korean version has higher priority.
7) Design input - Items to be criteria or objectives of design such as customer requirements, government restrictions, previous data or design requirements, etc. 8) Design review - Reviews to assess that design results at appropriate design stages such as DR 1,2,3 formal reviews, etc. 9) Design output - Output produced by design activities such as drawings, BOM, standard, or design S/W, etc. 10) Design verification - Actions for verifying and confirming in accordance with the specified procedure that design output meets the design input requirements. 11) Design validation - Actions for ensuring in accordance with the specified procedure that product meets user needs and requirements. 12) sub-contractor - A supplier of adequate materials or parts that is qualified and registered by appropriate assessment. 1-2. Definitions of terms Following are the definitions of terms to be used in this manual: 1)Quality assurance - All those planned and systematic actions necessary to provide adequate confidence that a product or servicing will satisfy given quality requirements. 2) Quality policy - The overall intentions and direction of an organization concerning quality that formally expressed by top management (Division Director). 3) Quality management - The aspect of the overall management function that determines and implements the quality policy. 4) Quality system - The organizational structure, responsibilities, procedures, processes and resources for implementing quality management. 5) Digital appliance company - An organizational unit that supports strategic planning, resources, etc which necessary to smooth business activity of division 6)Division - An organizational unit that has responsibilities and authorities for the whole process from planning of the relevant product to the final sales.
