Mount wutai is located in Xinzhou city, Wutai country, Shanxi province. It is one fo four major buddhist mountain in china and one of five famous major buddhist (佛 教徒)holy（神圣） places.

According to legend, mount wutai is the place for sermoning by Manjushri.

It is located in the middle of taihuai town, is the oldest and biggest temple in mount wutai. This temple is built in han dynasty, named dafulingjiu temple(大孚灵鹫寺). According to the huayanjing, wu zetian renamed it as dahuayan temple(大华严寺). In ming dynasty, ming taizu rebuilt and named daxiantong temple(大显通寺).
