英文简历5个常犯的错误

Resume writing is not very easy, because it's a macro view of your entire life, and people live at a micro level, putting too much emphasis on day-to-day details that don't have a connection on a resume. For this reason, many people choose to hire a person to get help in resume writing. But if you're writing your own resume, avoid the following pitfalls:

Too Long:

Recruiters don't have a lot of time to spend reading each resume. If your curriculum vitae (CV) is too long, you could discourage them, and most likely, they will not finish reading it. Resume writing takes skills as you have to communicate all important information about you in a very concise manner.

The best way to get this result is by using bullet points. Write just short sentences (if possible only clauses and phrases) that are straight to the point. Precisely explain your achievements, the things you did, as well as the results you got. Don't go into details and try not to write more than three pages. But the ideal number of pages is one to two. A resume is a snapshot of your life, skills, knowledge, and achievements. Focus on the most important information. If recruiters like what they read, they'll give you a call for an initial interview. This will be your chance to talk more about yourself.

Too Many Skills:

If you write too many knowledge and skills in the expertise section, the person reviewing your CV will not remember any of those details, and those that really matter most will be lost in the sea of words. Tailor your CV to every job offer by choosing the most relevant knowledge, skills, and achievements for the position. If possible, organise them by groups. This way your resume will be easier to read.

Not Targeted:

Your resume should be needs to be adjusted to the job you're applying for. Show the recruiter that you're the perfect match for the position. He or she should find relevant details in your CV. You might have to review all of your experiences before, and pick only those that are related to the role you're vying for. Omit those that are not quite related.

No Analysis:

A professional CV is a CV where results obtained from every experience are clearly and concisely explained. The recruiter does not only like to know the tasks you have

done but he also wants to know the things you have achieved. This allows him to see your competence and if the goals you've reached are similar to those of the company.

For each experience, list your responsibilities the results. You should show what

you've contributed to each of the previous companies you've worked in, and why the recruiter ought to schedule or call you for second interview.

Spelling and Grammatical Errors:

This definitely does not make good first impression. Ask one to two people to go through your resume to ensure there are no typo, grammar, or spelling mistakes. These can be avoided easily. But if you've overlooked too many of these mistakes, it could hurt you.
