Where a contract is negotiated verbally or by correspondence, and later on one party sends to the other party a contract/sales confirmation made in duplicate, one copy of which duly signed has to be returned by the other party.
◦ A sales confirmation is usually a simplified contract, but it has the same legal effect as a contract.

A formal contract embodying all terms of the agreement should be prepared in duplicate, each copy should be signed by both parties, and each party should retain one copy of the contract.
