Why have you chosen to undertake postgraduate study in your field at UCAS ?
One of the most important problems college students in Grade 4 face is deciding what to do after graduation. It was indeed an annoying problem when it came to me. After turning over for a long time, I decided to go for further education. There are three main reasons why I chose to undertake postgraduate study in my field at UCAS.
Firstly, I have to say that getting a higher degree is the only way for rural children out of poverty. There is a concept in Chinese people's mind that the higher education you get, the better life you will have in the future. From the view of mine, I think if I obtained a master's degree, I would be more competitive when applying a relative better job and get a better starting for my future career.
Secondly, I chose UCAS as the institution where I undertake my postgraduate study for the reason that it is a leading academic institution and comprehensive research and development center in natural science, technological science and high-tech innovation in China. It is such an excellent place to do research work that my researching and working ability will be both improved greatly. I think I will get a better scientific achievement at UCAS than one achieved in a general school.
Last but not least, I am in favor of my major as well as the lovely ocean. However the ocean is getting worse because of human beings' unreasonable utilization and serious pollution. I want to try my best to provide some help on improving the situation. While I believe that the knowledge I have learned in my undergraduate school is too little to work well in my field. For this reason, I made my choice to get further education in the field of marine chemistry. I hope to constantly
expand my knowledge of ocean and develop more practical skills about marine exploration and utilization without damaging the marine environment. I am confidence in that it will pay for my effort.

Perhaps one useful hint about the original function of sleep is to be found in the fact that dolphins and whales and aquatic mammals in general seem to sleep very little. There is, by and large, no place to hide in the ocean. Could it be that, rather than increasing an animal's vulnerability, the function of sleep is to decrease it? Wilse Webb of the University of Florida and Ray Meddis of London University have suggested this to be the case. It is conceivable that animals who are too stupid to be quiet on their own initiative are, during periods of high risk, immobilized by the implacable arm of sleep. Several factories can give a person high status in society. These include wealth, social standing, advanced education, and a prestigious occupation. We are all familiar with status symbols such a Cadillac or a mansion. Since these familiar symbols of status all cost money, it is common to mistake a striving for status as a drive to accumulate wealth. However, self-realization defined as “the desire to become more what one i s, to become everything one is capable of” is the original intention of striving for status. People should view work as something to be done in order to feel complete as a person to fulfill a personal philosophy.
