河北，因位于黄河之北而得名。内环京津，外环渤海，携太行燕山之威，挟畿辅拱卫之要，面积18.8万平方千米，海岸线487公里，人口7400万，省会石家庄市。

河北是中国主要的旅游资源大省，历史文化灿烂，是中华文明的发祥地之一。五千年前，中华民族的三大始祖黄帝、炎帝和蚩尤在涿鹿由征战到融合，开创了中华文明史。春秋战国，河北地属燕国和赵国，故有“燕赵”之称。悠久的历史留下深厚的文化积淀，全省现有世界文化遗产4项、国家级文物保护单位279处，国家级历史文化名城5座。承德避暑山庄和外八庙，清代帝王陵寝群清东陵和清西陵，老龙头、山海关、角山、金山岭等长城精华地段，涉县娲皇宫等历史人文古迹更是享誉海内外。

河北自然风光秀美，地貌多样，气候宜人。全省共有风景名胜区49 处，其中国家级风景名胜区10处，省级风景名胜区39处。全省共有A 级景区349家，其中5A级景区8家，4A级景区121家。特别是海滨海岛、草原湖泊、天然冰雪、优质温泉、青山秀水、乡村风光等特色旅游资源，应有尽有，多处美景，更是享誉海内外。

河北省拥有独特的民俗文化，蔚县剪纸、唐山皮影等6个项目入选世界非物质文化遗产，河北梆子、吴桥杂技、武强年画等466个项目入选国家级非物质文化遗产。永年太极、蔚县打树花等传统民俗多姿多彩，曲阳石雕、藁城宫灯、衡水内画等民间工艺巧夺天工。

Hebei gets its name due to locating in the north of Yellow River. Hebei circles with Beijing- Tianjin inside and Bohai outside, carries with the strength of Taihang Mountain and Yanshan Mountain and holds the essence of surrounding regions of Beijing with total area of 0.188 million km2, population of 74 million and coastline of 487 km, whose province is Shijiazhung City.

Hebei is an important large province of tourism resource in China with a long history and splendid culture, which is one of birthplaces of Chinese civilization. Five thousand years ago, three primogenitors of Chinese nation, Yellow Emperor, Yan Emperor and Chiyou integrated from battle in Zhuolu and created a history of Chinese civilization. In the Spring and Autumn and Warring State Period, Hebei belonged to Yan and Zhao, therefore, it has the called "Yanzhao" . Long history left profound cultural heritage. In Hebei, there are 4 world cultural heritages, 278 State Protected Historic Sites, 5 state-list famous historical and culture cities. Traditional folk custom is colorful, for example, Tai Chi in Yongnian and Tree Flower Beating in Yu County, and folk crafts overcome nature, for instance, Quyang Stone Carving, Gaocheng Palace Lantern and Inner Painting in Hengshui.
