The molecular numberof PTFE powder is only 1% of the general PTFE which not only maintains the excellent performance of the original, but also has high crystallinity dispersion, and easy to be uniformly mixed with other materials. It is widely used in the synthesis material modification, and can significantly improve the lubricity, wear resistance, non-adhesive and fire retardant of the substrate. It also can be used as lubricants, printing inks, coatings and other additives.
In the area of Synthetic material, PTFE powder can be used as modifier for the composite material. It is reported that in the world market almost all the engineering plastics with improved lubrication properties are mixed with PTFE powder. For example, adding 5%-25% of Ultra-fine powder of PTFE, the parts made from polyamide (PA), polyacetal (POM), polycarbonate (PC), acrylonitrile - butadiene - styrene copolymer (ABS), polyethylene(PE) and other high performance engineering resin can significantly improve their wear, friction and viscous sliding properties etc., which can be used to make gears, bearings and pulleys, and can also be used to take the place of lubricant metal components in order to reduce the weight of workpiece and maintenance costs.
PTFE powder can improve the surface properties and bulk properties of rubber. For example, adding 10% (by mass) of PTFE powder, silicone rubber, fluorine rubber, EPDM rubber and polychloroprene can improve the friction properties, wear properties and stripping behavior, crushing strength of rubber (rubber elastic behavior without apparent damage), which can reduce tearing rate when the rubber in the ejection process.
In the area of printing ink, PTFE powder is added into offset printing, gravure printing and flexible printing ink as additive. General dosage is 0.1% -3% of the solids, which can significantly improve ink sliding, surface smoothness, gloss, and make printing product rubbing. PTFE powder can also reduce congestion, the demand for fast printer and can effectively avoid paper bonding.
