The death of Holmes
On May 4 In 1891, when he was 37, Holmes with his old enemy Professor Moriarty（莫里亚蒂） burned their boats(决一死战) in the Reichenbach（巴赫） falls in Switzerland. Doyle had meant to make 《The last case》 as the end of the series. But the fans of Holmes rejected to receive Holmes’s death. So three years later Holmes came back again .
