People say that self-confidence is half of the success that can bring you courage to stick to what you do. Without self-confidence, one can not do well in anything. Self-confidence is of great importance and value to a person.

Firstly, self-confidence enables us to have the ambition of being successful. Only when you have the ambition to be successful, can you be successful eventually. Secondly, once we gain

self-confidence, we will possess the courage and strength to overcome the setbacks and difficulties. With self-confidence, no one and nothing can stop you to success.Thirdly, with

self-confidence we may accomplish something which seems to be impossible previously. No great thing is easy for us, therefore we should hold the idea that anything is possible. We should, or have

to trust in ourselves.

In short, self-confidence is the spiritual pillar of a person as well as the inherent power, which is of great importance and value to a person.

Times are changing day by day. Doing the shopping is easier. Most people are better-dressed and they enjoy modern life.

Girls are changing, too. There are many differences between the older and younger generations.

I know a twelve-year-old girl, who, to my surprise, has little time to play. She told me that she dreamt of being a dancer, so she must learn to dance, play music and so on. Sometimes, she is out of breath under such pressure, but she can’t stop because modern life is busy.

In addition, I find those girls know more and more. Although they are little girls, they know how to dress fashionably. Sometimes they look older than their age, though.

As an older female, I realize that compared with the modern girls, my generation is less well-educated and takes part in fewer leisure activities. I realize that we don’t make full use of our time the way they do. Therefore, we should try our best to value our time and pursue our dreams.

Confident, proud and energetic, modern girls represent new times.

Television has changed peoples life much since it was invented. Now it has become one important part of modern life.

People enjoy themselves after hard work by watching TV. They can see some plays, some stories, some sports matches without going out of home, and without spending much money in buying tickets. TV programmes make peoples life more interesting.

People learn much from TV, students can study by watching some educational programmes. People can see news, weather reports, programmes about science and computers. People all over the world can learn from each other and get knowledge when they are watching TV.

But not all the programmes are good enough. Today, there are too much programmes about love and crime. Some people become bad because they learn from the bad people in those programmes. And watching TV usually takes too much time. Its not good for peoples work and study. Its not good for their eyes, either.
