Teaching and learning Goals:

Help the students to master the following important sentences in the passage.

1. And unless we deal with our problems, we can easily become unhappy.

2. Time goes by, and good friendships may be lost.

3. As young adults, it is our duty to try our best to deal with each challenge in our education with the help or our teachers.

4. Think about Stephen Hawking, for example, a very clever scientist, who regards his many physical problems as unimportant.

5. Let’s face the challenges instead.

Talk about how to deal with our problems in our life. And show the students how to find the main idea of the passage. Find out the difference between too much and much too. Encourage the students to study hard by learning from the famous people, Stephen Hawking.

Show the studying goals to the students.

1. And unless we deal with our problems, we can easily become unhappy.

Step 2 Preview

The students say the meaning of each word in the following box.

Talk about the picture of Stephen Hawking in groups. Get the students to answer the following questions according to the picture.
