The show follows the crew of the starship Tempest as they travel to different planets, meet alien civilizations, and get caught up in all kinds of crazy adventures and mysteries.The main character is Captain Zara Cruz, the young but super smart and brave commander of the Tempest. Zara is my favorite because she's a strong female lead who is an amazing pilot, a genius scientist, and is always ready with a clever plan to get her crew out of trouble. She's played by actress Maya Veracruz, whodoes an awesome job making Zara seem both tough and caring at the same time.Then there's Lieutenant Brok, the hulking but lovable security officer from the warrior race of Volgo. Brok is immensely strong and skilled at combat, but he's also a big teddy bear with a heart of gold. He's fiercely loyal to Zara and the rest of the crew. My favorite Brok moment is when he has to sing a traditional Volgan lullaby to some alien babies to stop them from crying—it's both hilarious and adorable!The smart-aleck of the crew is Enzi, a brilliant but sarcastic engineer who is always getting them out of scrapes with her technical genius. She's from the desert world of Alkara and has been working on starships since she was really young. I love how she's always dishing out witty put-downs and funny remarks, but also shows she deeply cares about her crewmates.Rounding out the main characters is Jev'ath, a mysterious alien navigator with secrets about his past. Jev'ath looks really cool and creepy, with his tall thin body, bald head, huge black eyes, and tentacle-like fingers. But despite his freaky appearance, he's actually kind of shy and gentle. Part of the ongoing mystery of the show is trying to figure out what species Jev'ath really is and where he came from originally.Every episode is like a mini sci-fi movie, with the Tempest crew going on a new adventure to some strange alien planet or getting caught up in some crazy crisis threatening entire civilizations. There's always lots of excitement and action, like huge starship battles, the crew having to do daring spacewalks, or Zara and Brok getting into epic fights with alien monsters or bad guys.But the show isn't just nonstop action—there's also cool science fiction ideas mixed in, like the crew encountering civilizations of highly-advanced aliens, or civilizations that are still pretty primitive and low-tech. Or they might run across weird sci-fi phenomena like crazy energy beings, rips in the fabric of space-time, or artifacts left behind by an ancient and impossibly advanced alien race.One of my favorite episodes is "The Doomsday Fractals" where the Tempest gets trapped in a weird section of space where the laws of physics and mathematics start breaking down. They keep seeing these bizarre geometrical shapes and fractals appearing out of nowhere that seem to be a warning about the end of the universe! There were so many intense scenes, like Zara having to outrace a huge fireball through an underground tunnel or Brok having an ancient alien gladiator game!While the show has tons of cool sci-fi ideas, what I really love are all the character moments and relationships between the crew members. Zara, Brok, Enzi, and Jev'ath might seem like an odd mismatched family, but they clearly care deeply about each other under all the banter and bickering. You know they would do anything to help or protect one another.My favorite character relationship is definitely thebrother-sister bond between Zara and Enzi. Even though Enzi is always giving Zara a hard time and driving her crazy with her sarcastic jokes, it's clear they have each other's backs no matter what. There was one really emotional episode where Enzi got infected by an alien virus, and you could see how scared Zara was about losing her best friend and only remaining family member.Overall, "Galactic Explorers" just has a perfect mix of action, humor, interesting science fiction concepts, characters you care about, and funny/heartfelt moments between the crew. I've probably watched every episode three or four times because I just can't get enough of it! I've got a ton of "Galactic Explorers" toys and collectibles, I follow all the latest news about the show, and I'm always among the first to buy the latest season on video whenever it comes out.If you've never seen "Galactic Explorers" before, I cannot recommend it enough!
