Losing Weight in a Healthy Way
Nowadays, with the rapid improvement on people’s living standard, many people get addicted to the comfortable but unhealthy lifestyle, which result in the obesity among crowds of people. Also, the standard of beauty is measured by slim figures. Thus, losing weight is gradually becoming a hot wave among many people, especially those young people. However, weight reducing is a tricky topic. Most people are busy finding shortcut to lose weight by taking diet pills or skipping meals or other extreme measures, such as liposuction. These measures, although may be effective and quick, are not healthy and usually harmful for the body.
Maybe because people are getting accustomed to the quick-paced society, they desire everything to be quick and convenient, including losing weight. As a result, they get fascinated by various advertisements which exaggerate about some “magical”diet pills that may get people slim within a very short period of time. In fact, most of the pills don’t have the magical power as advertised. Some pills may have obvious effect after a few weeks. However, once people stop taking the pills, they start gaining weight and even rebound with some extra weight. Apart from these, those pills often have side effects on people. There are a lot of untested and, ineffective and potentially harmful diet pills on the market. These diet pills working on the brain to suppress
people’s appetite have some obvious side effects like depression, elevated blood pressure, insomnia, etc. Therefore, those who resort to diet pills as a shortcut to losing weight are taking their health as the cost, which is rather blind and irrational Another popular way among most weight losing people is skipping meals. Most people take the wrong approach of skipping meals as the way to lose extra pounds because they think it is simple and energy-saving. On the opposite, they are having severe misconception about the idea. Skipping meals will never help lose weight. In fact, it will only work the opposite way and cause disorder in people’s digestive system. Sometimes, it may even bring about anorexia which is extremely damaging and dangerous to people’s health. In addition, skipping meals may result in a person’s lack of energy all day, which is adverse for his/her normal work or study.
As far as I’m concerned, the premises of people’s losing weight is to maintain health. Quite on the contrary, these measures are threatening people’s health to a large extent. Therefore, people must seek for a healthy way to lose weight.
In my opinion, the healthiest way to lose weight is doing regular exercises and having a balanced diet. Compared to those extreme ways, doing exercises may not get effect instantly and it is time-consuming, but its effect is long-termed. In the meanwhile, people’s immunity and sense of perseverance and patience are strengthened. As a girl, I have tried this way for a while and I have gained gratifying effect. I have appointed with one of my friends that we jog every night to lose weight. We supervise and urge each other every time there’s someone wants to give up. After a month’s time, I have lost 3kilograms.What’s more, our friendship is enhanced and I
have learned to do everything with more persistence and endurance. Also it has breeds my good habit of doing exercises regularly and a sense of healthy lifestyle is coming into being. Of course, a balanced diet is also an essential element in weight reducing. People should take account to their consumption of food and energy. Too fatty and junk food will certainly result in the gaining of weight. A balanced diet will serve people with various nutrtion that can guarantee a day’s work and activity.
Keeping fit deserves our preferential consideration. As stated above, instead of taking those risky approaches as a shortcut to lose weight, people should adhere to more rational ways as doing exercises and having a balanced diet as the right ways. For these ways will breed healthy living habit and foster a person’s perseverance and patience.。
