On The Importance of the Name
New term is coming now, our campus have welcomed many freshmen. I also helped many freshmen as a volunteer. The first question I asked those freshmen was their names. You know, the name was the most important character for a man. Today I want to talk about our names, whether our names are important for us.
Of course, no leaves are exactly the some in the world. That’s to say, everyone has different opinions about this question.
I still remember when my sister was young; my uncle wanted to give her an exceedingly unusual name, so he looked through the dictionary and at last named her “jingwen”. I think he in all probability wanted his daughter to be softness, elegance and to be a gentlewoman when her grow up. My uncle may be presented this kind of person who treated the names as important symbols.
On the other hand, I also know some parents just named their children at will. They don’t think their names will have huge impact on their future. Just like “chunsheng” and so on.
