英语作文(研究生)英语一

Unit1 Individuality and privacyEveryone has his own Individuality and privacy,Nowadays, individuality has become a popular term with young people. But what is individuality? It is being different from others not only in outside appearance, but also in inner behavior. On the other hand, privacy is important. Everyone need privacy like you can’t just break into some random people’s house any time.It is comparatively easy for people to be individual from outside. Kinds of clothes ,various adornments(装饰品), colorful dyed(染)hair. The fashion is changing everyday and it is hard to find two men dressed identically(相同). However, to behave individuality is another story. It means making your own decision, being confident of what you believe in, following no trends but trying to do what you think is right, and speaking out what is in your own mind but not what you hear from other. Something among these is your privacy. We are living in the time when personal choices are always thought highly of. Don’t hesitate when you want to express yourself in word or in action, for it is a good way to show your existence (存在)and stand out from the crowd. At the same time, we should protect our privacy.Unit2 Joy of lifeAll our life, we will meet all kinds of difficulties, we have to face them and fix them,We often complain that life is too dull, unable to find the fun in life. However, happiness is everywhere in our life. For example, family reunion, learning progress, to see friends. This is one of the most happy thing in my life .HelpTherefore, as long as you carefully discovered, concerned about family and friends, we will be able to feel the joy of living.Unit3My definition of HappinessIn this long journey we call "life", everybody is in pursuit of happiness and has their own interpretation(解释)of happiness. An inspiring idea is that happiness is not the absence of problems(不是没有问题), but the ability to deal with them, which reveals the very truth about happiness. It can not be achieved through waiting, but only through striving. There is no way that life always progresses(进展)as we wish. Problems may occur and we find ourselves in trouble, but it doesn't mean we are deprived(剥夺)of happiness. There are numerous(众多)examples for us to follow: disabled people overcoming obstacles, patients fighting against disease, poverty-stricken people(贫困人群)achieving their dreams -- all these inspiring heroes. Their lives are definitely not problem-free(他们的生活绝对不是问题), but they have found happiness by courageously(勇敢)solving problems. Therefore, it is essential to develop the ability to deal with problems. We need to muster(鼓起)our courage and confidence to face the fact. Meanwhile, we need to find effective ways to cope with (对付)them. In a word, if we stay strong and approach problems effectively, there will be no storm in life that we cannot weather. And after the storm, happiness is within our reach.Unit4my view on famefurther success tempts(诱惑) a sea of trouble(无穷无尽的麻烦)desperately(拼命的)instant(即时)the trend which the public go for always chops and changes fantasticality. So celebrities(名声)can't remain idle otherwise they wouldbe permanently expelled from (开除)the wider circle of public favor.Unit5T he genius of English英语特征Standard English is the language that used in formal occa sions(场合), such as in official(官方)documents(文件)、laws、th e announcement(声明) and statement issued(发布) by the sch ool and etc. Nonstandard English mainly refers to the private c onversations, personal epistolary contacts(个人书信往来),daily spo ken language, and nowadays it is mainly used in public communi cation such as newspapers、magazines、advertising、television、p opular books and so on. Although there is no clear boundary (边界)or absolute difference between the Standard English a nd the Nonstandard English, that does not deny there is no diff erence between them(不否认他们之间没有区别).Standard English general said on formal occasions, for formal occasions in general is a leader or representative of an organization and the community, so you can show respect for each other. Non-standard English is used in more casual(非正式的)occasions, such as friends and family together, so that you can display close friends(所以你可以展示亲密的朋友).In my opinion, the features of English is that English grow without a formal grammar. We can speak English in our way when we communicate with others. Therefore, the nature of the English is freedom.Unit8 How to improve the translation abilityAs we know, the ability of translation in learning English is very important. If you want to learn English well, you must improve your translation ability. Translation is a tool in internat ional communication, and is also one of the tasks for English te aching. When you translate the article you should follow some diffe rent ways but the most important one is that you should transl ate the article into other language but should express the sole o f article that is the most important. I got some ideas about ho w to improve your translation ability and some short points whi ch I have.First, accumulation(积累) of vocabulary and idioms(习语)i s the base of translation. If you can't know the rich vocabulary and idioms when you are reading the articles, you will feel diffic ult. Second, the patterns(模式)of sentences are of great impor tant. It can help you understand what he/she are talking about. It is one way of communication. To learn different usage(用法)of sentence patterns(模式)will benefit your communication skill. All of the above are two important parts of improving tra nslation.U nit9 my view on ambitionAmbition is the decision one makes and the resolution with which he carries out that decision(野心是一个决定,他决定了他决定的决心). It provides us with the required driving force to accomplish any undertakings(事业)in our life. Just as Joseph Epstein, a famous American writer put it, “And as we decide and choose, so are our lives formed.” (当我们决定和选择时,我们的生活也就形成了)Indeed, once we make up our minds to choose to do something, then our life becomes meaningful and specifically orientated.(具体定位)Influential(影响)as it is upon us, however, ambition must be channeled in the right direction(野心必须在正确的方向引导). If wrongly directed, one’s ambition may bring havoc(大破坏)on him and others. Hitler, whose ambition was to conquer Europe by whatever evil means, finally turned him into a demon(魔鬼). It was this demon that almost cast Europe into an unfathomable abyss(深渊)of anguish(痛苦)and suffering.这个恶魔几乎把欧洲变成了一个深不可测和痛苦的深渊Another case is Macbeth whose ambition was to become of king Scotland. However, his ambition was materialized by the murder of king Duncan. (他的野心被邓肯国王的谋杀所实现)In my mind’s eye, a person can make his life beautiful, meaningful and rewarding and stand out as a respectable personage if he is motivated by a well-orientated ambition.(作为一个受人尊敬的人物,如果他是出于一个良好的志向的动机)。

1.How to win loveThe youth frequently ask how to win love. In my opinion, before planning to win love, you have to understand exactly the meaning of true love. It is impossible to gain some thing whose meaning you don’t know. So, what is the authentic lov e?The most centre meaning of love is to tolerate imperfection. As we all know, there is no perfect thing in the world, hence, nobody is perfect but God. You must be aware of the many sides of the other person, including his/her limitation, inconsistencies and flaws. In a love relationship there exist times of boredom, real strain etc., besides happiness. Someone says that love comes into an imperfect world to make it livable. Therefore, to know the person from whom you are going to win love is the first step. Then, enduring rough times when you feel like giving up and experiencing an impasse.Additionally, love is independence -not excessive dependence on the person for your meaning and survival. Love is freeing, so, please give more space for you and the person you love to develop.Simply put, you will win love, if you completely understand Fromm’s words: Mature love is union under the condition of preserving one’s integrity, one’s individuality. In love this paradox occurs that two beings become one and yet remain two.2.The Fourth Millennium in My EyesTechnology has shrunk the globe and stretched our lives and our minds, and, this situation will continue as long as human society exists. What will the fourth millennium look like?In my eyes, a thousand years later, there will be great changes in many areas. But, the future will not be utterly foreign, because human nature will not change. Taking education, new electronic equipments and new modes of education will be popularized, such as on line schools. All the revolution, however, will not make the schoolroom obsolete, for the interactions among students and teachers are essential to the students’ forming characters. As for computer, it will be used in all kinds of fields to serve us—not control. Blooming virtual society, for instance e-community, will increase communicating convenience and ways of entertainment. Yet, virtual reality will never make us permanent antisocial shut-ins. Because, being social species, humans have instincts to communicate by face-to-face contact. All in all, People in the world of 3000, I think, will live in the world in which technology will enrich rather than dominate human lives.3.The Organic FoodsAre organically grown foods the best food choices? The advantages claimed for such foods over conventionally grown and marketed food products are now being debated. The organic foods are purely natural products without using chemical agent, such as chemical fertilizer or pesticide, during the growing process. Many people believe that such foods are safer and more nutritious than the foods produced on a large scale by traditional methods. That may be right, for the natural nutrients are not destroyed in their growth cycles. Nonetheless, it is pity that there is no scientific evidence to support it. On the contrary, I know that some natural products, for instance some bee products, which are poisonous in themselves, have to be processed for diet. The key forming the view, I think, is that the organic foods are more delicious and tasteful. Comparatively speaking, the organic foods are too costly and inefficient, for their long growing time and inadaptability to mass production, to meet needs of population growth. To sum up the above arguments, the organic foods are not the best food choices, but they can serve as a complementary to others.4.Young People without an EducationAs we all know, education, of young people especially, plays an important role in human development. Some say that the issue of youth education has to do with the survival of a nation. According to relative statistic data, there is still a relatively large group of young people who do not complete a youth education. Why?One of the main causes of the social problem has something to do with family background. Poverty plays some part in it. But experts in youth education claimed that parental influence greatly affects children’s attitude of learning. Parents fail to offer parental guidance for different reasons: Some are busy with their own work and neglect their children; some are not aware of the importance of education--they don’t view youth education as the preparation for the youth to become potential leaders, etc. Furthermore, the forms of education on offer cause partly the problem. So far, in china, the education is mostly examination-oriented, which leads to teachers’ blind cramming. Some children are sick of this form of education and give up learning. To conclude, about the issue young people without an education, I quote experts’ saying that there are no problem children, only problem guardians.5.Individualism vs. collectivismIndividualism and collectivism are quite different in some aspects. Are they conflicting?Generally speaking, individualism is formed in the western societies, and collectivism in the eastern societies. In the west, the focus is on the individual, in the east, the focus is on the relationship between individuals. The western value evolves from Hunting Societies, in which the accent was autonomy and individualism. The eastern value comes from Planting Societies- from which comes the notion of interrelation, interconnection and interdependence- in which suppression of individual impulses is required. From these different values evolved very different ways of doing business, and different ways of conducting ourselves within our society. To the extent, individualism and collectivism seem to be conflicting. With economic development, neither individualism nor collectivism can meet the demands of the global community alone. Pushed to the extreme, individualism has created tremendous indifference and cynicism, and, collectivism has caused patronage. One man’s meat is another man’s poison, so, they are complementary. I believe combining them is the best policy in the new economic environment.6.Which one is Gold, Silence or speech?Conversation is one of the major means of communication. But an old saying goes: ’Silence is gold, and speech is silver.’ Do you think this idea is as applicable today as it was in the old days? Write an essay to state your opinions.Which one is Gold, silence or speech? There is an old saying: silence is gold, and speech is silver. That is to say, silence is more important than speech. I don’t think so. Because both speech and silence have their own advantages.Silence has many advantages, for instance, it gives you more chances to listen others’ words so that you can get more useful information and knowledge, and, it can avoid unwanted arguments. Compared with speech, silence may protect yourself, because, the more you speak, the more mistakes you make, the more you betray yourself. It seems that silence means everything. But, sometimes, keeping silence makes you misunderstood by others. They may think that you have nothing in your mind, or that you are reluctant to be involved in the talk.Similarly, speech also has many advantages. In a group interview, speech allows you to assertively show your talent to grasp the opportunity. Speech is a power to persuade others to follow your ideas, when you prepare for implementing your new plan in your company. Also, speech breaks the ice among the strangers, to liven up the party. But, in some circumstances, speech makes you have no chance to be a good listener, hence it may be hard for you to establish a good relationship with others. To sum up, which one is Gold? It depends.7.Two Sides to China’s WTO MembershipThere is an old saying that every coin has two sides, so it is with China’s WTO Membership.Pessimist argued that putting them in a battleground, WTO membership would destroy money-losing state-owned enterprise and shatter China’s banks at a time of high unemployment, hence domestic economy would be attacked fiercely. Yet, experts in management claimed that threat implies opportunity. At the broadest level, while increased competition from foreign companies would undoubtedly cause economic pain, they could also prompt much needed corporate reform—becoming more proactive in developing new products, improving services and bringing down costs. For example, co nfronting competition from Japanese, China’s consumer-appliance makers have been pushing Japanese firms from domestic market. And, much the same phenomenon is at work in the computer industry. An economist says that if China enters the WTO, Falling trade barriers would also provide domestic companies with better access to technology, efficient machines and markets. And that would make the companies better positioned to export. The textile industry would benefit tremendously from the removal of quotas by western governments. Furthermore, besides Chinese exports, thanks to lower import tariffs, companies that import components and raw material would extremely benefit from WTO membership. Additionally, to consumers, it would mean better quality products with lower price and more goods choices. So, WTO membership would initially be painful for the Chinese economy, however, in the longer term, the economy as a whole would benefit if Chinese companies turn the new pressure from growing competition into impetus. All in a word, the advantages outweigh the disadvantage for WTO membership.。

研究生英语综合教程第二章课后答案作文

研究生英语综合教程第二章课后答案作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Awesome Summer Vacation!Hey everyone! I'm so excited to tell you all about my amazing summer vacation. It was the best summer ever and I had the craziest adventures! Buckle up because this is going to be an epic tale.It all started on the last day of school. I was super pumped because not only was school finally over, but my parents had a huge surprise planned for me and my little sister Lily. They said we were going on an incredible trip for the whole summer! Can you believe it? A whole summer of fun and no school. I could barely sleep that night thinking about where we might go.The next morning, bright and early, we piled into the car with our suitcases. After a bunch of hours of driving, we finally made it to the airport. I had never been on a plane before so I was a little nervous, but also really thrilled. When we got on the plane, I quickly realized flying is awesome! You get your own little TV,snacks, and you get to look out over the clouds. It's like being a bird up there! After what felt like no time at all, the plane landed and we arrived in...Hawaii I had seen pictures, but it was even more beautiful in real life. The second we stepped outside, I was hit with the warm tropical air and could smell the ocean. Palm trees lined the roads and the sky was the brightest blue. This was already shaping up to be the trip of a lifetime. We got to our amazing beach resort and I instantly ran out and dipped my toes in the ocean for the first time. The water was so clear, warm, and saltier than I expected. I spent the rest of that day just splashing around and playing in the waves. That night we had an incredible luau on the beach with a massive buffet, hula dancers, and a huge bonfire. I stuffed myself with kalua pork, pineapple, and coconut shrimp. It was all so delicious!Over the next few weeks, we went on so many epic adventures all around the different Hawaiian islands. We went snorkeling and saw massive sea turtles, colorful fish, and vibrant coral up close. We hiked through a rainforest to towering waterfalls that we could swim in. We took a helicopter ride over an active volcano that was bubbling with bright orange lava. It felt like we were on another planet! One of the coolest things we did was go night snorkeling with these special lighted visors. The ocean looks completely different at night and we got to see these incredible creatures called manta rays up close. They were huge but totally gentle as they glided through the water. We even got to watch them doing barrel rolls which was so majestic.Another day we went whale watching on a boat and got to see massive humpback whales breaching out of the water. It was insane to see something so big come completely out of the ocean like that. The tour guides said we were really lucky because we even got to see a whale give birth to a little baby calf! The whole pod was super protective and kept swimming around the baby. I had never seen anything like it.Whenever we weren't out on an adventure, we just relaxed on the beach all day. I perfected my sandcastle skills and even entered a few competitions. Lily and I had the best system of digging a moat and making detailed windows and turrets. We didn't win but we had an awesome time.I also took some surfing lessons and eventually could ride "Mike" waves...that means the smaller ones that are perfect for beginners. By the end of the summer, I could ride some bigger waves for a few seconds which felt like flying! I spent hours justbobbing around in the turquoise waters waiting for the perfect wave to come along. Before we knew it, our summer in paradise was coming to an end. I was really sad to leave behind the warmth, beaches, and aloha spirit, but I had so many incredible memories to take home. That plane ride home felt twice as long knowing I wouldn't be back by the beach in the morning. Now that I'm back in school, I dream about those Hawaiian beaches every day during class. I can't wait until my next vacation when I can have another amazing adventure! I just hope it's somewhere as fun and beautiful as Hawaii was. I'm already working on my tan so I'm ready whenever summer comes again!篇2Hi! My name is Timmy and I'm in 5th grade. My teacher Mrs. Miller asked us to practice writing essays for our English class. We had to read Chapter 2 from this really big book called "Comprehensive English for Graduate Students" and then answer the writing prompts from the exercises. Here are my answers:Prompt: Write a descriptive essay about your favorite place. Use detailed sensory descriptions to help the reader imagine being there. My Favorite Place - The TreehouseMy ultimate favorite place in the whole universe is my treehouse! It's the most awesome place ever. To get there, you go out the back door of my house, down the steps, hang a left and walk through the little gate into the backyard. Then you have to look up reeeeally high into the giant oak tree and there it is - my treehouse! It's made out of wood planks that are kind of greyish-brown and a little splintery in some spots. It has four walls, a roof, and two windows with shutters that open and close. The roof is slanted and covered in bumpy shingles. You climb up using the wooden ladder that's nailed into the trunk. The rungs have lots of grooves carved into them from years of kids' sneakers scuffing up and down.Once you're inside, it smells like a wonderful mixture of fresh-cut grass, must from the oak tree, and the cherry Tootsie Pops I've stashed in the corner. In the summertime when the windows are open, you can smell honeysuckle from the bushes in the yard too. It's not a huge space but it feels roomy since the ceiling angles up to a point in the center. There's an old braided rug that scratches bare feet and a beanbag chair that's rock-hard after being squished for so manyyears. Thumbtacks line the walls where we've hung drawings, photos, fortunes from cookies, and other treasures we've found. Dust motes float in the rays of sunshine beaming through the windows. Spiderwebs cake the corners but we leave them since they're homes for the little spiders.I love sitting up there reading comics, shooting rubber bands at squirrels, eavesdropping on neighborhood conversations, and watching the zillions of leaves on the oak tree swaying. On windy days it sways and creaks like it's going to blow over. In storms, rain pounds on the roof in a deafening roar. My treehouse is my ultimate fortress of solitude away from rambunctious little brothers and chores. That's why the treehouse is my happy place - the sights, smells, sounds, and feeling of being up in the trees in my own tiny kingdom far from the worries of this world. Just me and my thoughts amongst nature. Aahhh I can't wait for the next sunny day so I can climb back up there with a Baby Ruth candy bar!Prompt: Write a narrative essay telling the story of the most fascinating person you know. The Most Fascinating Person I KnowThe most fascinating person I know is my grandpa Clarence. He's 92 years old which is really really old. Like ancient! He has thin wispy white hair, crinkly lines all over his face from squinting in the sun too much, and a little hunched back. But he still gets around pretty good with his metal cane that has a tennis ball on the bottom.Grandpa grew up during the Great Depression when there was no money and people had to live off the land. His family didn't have running water or electricity back then! They heated their house by chopping up logs and burning them in a fireplace. He helped His dad grow crops and raise livestock like cows, pigs, and chickens on their little farm. For fun as a kid, Grandpa says he would whittle wood figures, fish for catfish and bluegill in the creek, and play mumbly-peg with his brothers. That's some kind of game where you throw a pocket knife to stick it in the ground. It sounds kind of dangerous if you ask me! On Saturday nights the whole family would gather on the porch and drink ice cold lemonade while listening to the battery-powered radio shows like The Shadow and Little Orphan Annie. When World War 2 started, Grandpa lied about his age so he could enlist in the army. He was only 16 but he told them he was18. Can you believe that?? The army didn't even check! So he got shipped across the ocean to fight in Europe as a soldier.Grandpa says some of the most fascinating and scary things he's ever witnessed happened during the war. He saw dead bodies, got shot at by Nazis, watched his friends die right in front of him, and one time he even had to take cover in a massive crater that was made by one of the big rocket bombs that篇3Hi there! My name is Timmy, and I'm a 4th grader at Oakwood Elementary School. Our teacher, Miss Johnson, gave us a really fun writing assignment last week, and I'm so excited to share my essay with you!The prompt was all about describing our favorite place. At first, I thought about writing about the awesome new playground they just built at the park down the street. It has these gigantic tube slides that make you feel like you're flying through the air, and a really cool climbing wall that's shaped like a pirate ship. But then I remembered my absolute favorite place in the whole wide world – my treehouse! You see, last summer, my dad and I built this amazing treehouse together in the big oak tree in our backyard. It took usforever to make because we wanted it to be perfect. We had to measure and cut all the wood pieces just right, and then haul them up into the tree using a pulley system. I got to help with hammering in some of the nails and painting the walls a bright green color that I picked out myself. When we were finally done, our treehouse turned out even better than I imagined! It has two levels connected by a ladder, with a little roof on top to keep the rain out. The bottom level is like a cozy living room, with bean bag chairs, shelves for my books and toys, and even a tiny wooden table where I can color or play board games. But the best part is the top level – that's the lookout deck! From up there, I can see everything – our house, the neighbors' yards, the park in the distance, and even the mountains on a really clear day. It's the perfect spot for spying on birds or squirrels scampering around in the trees. Sometimes I'll pack a snack and drink, climb up to the lookout deck, and just hang out for hours, taking in all the sights and sounds of nature.Whenever my friends come over, the first thing they always want to do is check out my treehouse. We'll make pretend it's a fortress, and I'll be the brave knight defending it from the evil dragon (who's really just my friend Jake making monster noises).Or we'll bring up our walkie-talkies and play like we're secret agents on an important mission, sending coded messages back and forth from our "headquarters" in the trees. One of my favorite memories from last summer was when we had a sleepover up in the treehouse. My dad set up a little tent on the bottom level, and me, Jake, Emma, and Michael all brought our sleeping bags. We told scary stories, playedtruth-or-dare, and eventually fell asleep while watching the moon and stars through the window. I'll never forget waking up to the chirping birds and sunlight peeking through the leaves. It was magical! The treehouse is my happy place – a secret hideaway where I can have adventures, daydream, or simply enjoy being surrounded by nature. No brothers or sisters to bother me, no parents telling me to clean my room, just peace and quiet (and the occasional squirrel friend, of course). Whenever I'm feeling sad or overwhelmed with schoolwork, I know I can escape up to my special spot for a little while.Even though I'm getting older and some of my friends say treehouses are "for little kids," I don't think I'll ever outgrow mine. It's not just a place, it's a connection to my imagination and all the fun I had as a kid. And who knows, maybe one day when I'mall grown up, I'll build an even bigger and better treehouse for my own kids to enjoy! A treehouse is a childhood dream come true, and my favorite place in the universe.Well, that's my essay! I hope you liked reading about my awesome treehouse as much as I liked writing about it. Thanks for letting me share a little bit about my favorite篇4My Awesome FamilyHi! My name is Jamie and I am 8 years old. I love my family so much! They are the awesomest. I am going to tell you all about them.First there is my mom. Her name is Susan and she is the best mom ever. She takes really good care of me and my little brother Tommy. Every morning she makes us yummy breakfasts like pancakes or eggs. She packs delicious lunches for us to take to school too. After school she helps us with our homework. If we get stuck on a really hard math problem, she knows just how to explain it so we understand. My mom works really hard but she always has time for us kids. On weekends she takes us to the park to play on the swingsand slides. Or sometimes we go to the movies and get popcorn and Swedish fish candy which are my favorite. She reads me bedtime stories and gives the best hugs and kisses goodnight. I just love my mom so much! Then there is my dad, Henry. He is tall and has brown hair and a big smile. My dad is really funny and makes me and Tommy laugh all the time. He does these crazy goofy dances around the house and makes silly faces. But he is also really smart. He knows so many things! If I ask him how airplanes fly or what makes a rainbow, he explains it all to me. He helps me with my science fair projects too.My dad works hard at his job, but as soon as he gets home from work he plays with me and Tommy. We go outside and he throws balls for us to catch or we go on family bike rides. For my birthday last year he rented a huge bounce house and all my friends came over and we jumped around for hours! It was the best ever. I love doing fun things with my dad.And I can't forget about my little brother Tommy! He just turned 5 years old. Tommy has blonde hair and big blue eyes. He is so cute and sweet but also really loud and crazy! We share a room and he is always jumping on his bed or running around.Tommy makes me laugh but he can be annoying too when he won't be quiet and let me read my books.Still, we have a lot of fun playing together. We build big towers and cities out of his legos. Or we have jumping contests to see who can jump the highest or the farthest. Tommy cheats though by getting a running start! In the summer we run through the sprinklers in our yard and have picnics with our stuffed animal friends. Even though Tommy drives me nuts sometimes, he's the best little brother. My family also has two pets, a dog and a cat. The dog's name is Biscuit and she is an old yellow lab. She is really lazy and sleeps pretty much all day. But when we come home from school Biscuit goes crazy running around so excited to see us. She loves to chase after tennis balls and give us sloppy kisses. Our cat is named Oreo because she is black and white. Oreo is pretty shy and likes to hide from everyone. But sometimes late at night she sneaks into my room and cuddles up next to me to sleep. I love burying my face in her soft fur. Having pets makes our house feel extra cozy.On the weekends, my whole family likes to go on adventures together. We pack a picnic lunch and all pile into the car. We drive out to parks or hiking trails and spend the day exploringoutside. Mom makes us leave our phones and tablets behind so we can unplug from screens. Instead we look for cool bugs or bird nests. We play hide and seek or tag running through the trees. When we get hungry we sit together and eat our sandwiches. Sometimes we even have a contest to see who can find the most interesting leaf or rock!In the evenings we like to have family movie nights. We make popcorn and snuggle up on the couch under warm blankets. I get to pick the movie sometimes, and I always choose something silly and fun. But other times my parents pick movies they think will teach us something. Either way, I love cozying up with my family to watch together. That's my awesome family! We have our ups and downs of course, like when Tommy or I fight over what TV show to watch. Or when I don't want to go to bed on time. But even with the little squabbles, I feel so lucky to be part of this funny, loving, adventurous family. We have a blast just being together. I love the traditions and bond we share. My mom, dad, brother, and pets make every day an exciting memory. I'm one lucky kid!篇5My Favorite AnimalsHi there! My name is Johnny and I'm 8 years old. Today I want to tell you all about my favorite animals. Animals are just about the coolest things ever! I love learning about different creatures and watching nature shows on TV.My absolute favorite animals are big cats like lions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars. They are so strong and fast and powerful. Lions are the kings of the jungle with their bright yellow fur and mighty roars. Tigers have beautiful orange stripes and can run super fast to catch their prey. Leopards are spotted and like to lurk in trees before pouncing on unsuspecting antelopes. And jaguars are excellent swimmers that live in the rainforests.I just think big cats are amazing hunters. Their skills at stalking and chasing down other animals is incredible. They are the perfect predators. With their sharp teeth and claws, they can take down zebras, gazelles, wild pigs, and even buffaloes! I've seen videos of lions working together as a pride to surround their prey. It's awesome teamwork. My next favorite animals are primates like chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. I think it's so cool how similar they are to humans. Chimpanzees are highly intelligent and can use tools. They live in family groups with complex social structures. Gorillas are the largest primates and the males will beat their chests toshow dominance. And orangutans are expert climbers swinging through the trees of the rainforest.I find primates fascinating to watch because you can see hints of human-like behavior. How they communicate, take care of their young, and solve problems. Jane Goodall was a famous scientist who studied chimpanzees in the wild for decades. She saw them making tools, having friendships, and waging warfare on rival groups! So much like early humans.Another group of creatures I love are the birds of prey, especially hawks, falcons, and eagles. These raptors have incredible eyesight and flying abilities to hunt small mammals, reptiles, and other birds. Hawks will soar high in the sky scanning the ground until they spot prey, then dive down at lightning speeds. Peregrine falcons are potentially the fastest animals on earth when they go into their bullet-like hunting stoop. And bald eagles are just majestic and powerful. The way they soar over forests and lakes looking for fish to snatch out of the water. I've been lucky to see some bald eagles in real life when I went camping with my parents. Watching them fly overhead with their huge wingspans is awe-inspiring.Predatory birds make use of their razor-sharp talons, hooked beaks, and incredible vision to be expert hunters from the skies.Falconers have trained hawks, falcons, and eagles for thousands of years to hunt small game with them. I think that's such an ancient and cool tradition connecting humans with these magnificent raptors.I could keep going on and on about other amazing animals, but I'll stop here. From the oceans to the grasslands to the forests, Planet Earth is home to such an incredible diversity of life. Animals have evolved the most spectacular traits and behaviors to survive and thrive in their habitats. As a kid, I'm in awe of nature's wonders. I dream of maybe becoming a zoologist, wildlife photographer, or conservationist when I grow up so I can spend my life learning about animals. This world is a real-life Animal Planet!篇6My Awesome Summer Vacation!Hi! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. I just had the best summer vacation ever and I can't wait to tell you all about it!It all started on the last day of school. I was so excited because I didn't have any more homework or tests for three whole months! My teacher Mrs. Jenkins gave us our summerreading lists, but I wasn't too worried about that. I knew I'd have plenty of time. The first week of summer, my parents let me sleep in as late as I wanted. I loved lounging around in my pajamas and watching cartoons. Around lunchtime, my friends Tyler and James would come over and we'd play outside all afternoon. We had epic Nerf gun battles in the backyard and raced our bikes up and down the street. One day, we made a lemonade stand and sold cups for 25 cents each. We made 7 before my mom made us pack it up for dinner! I felt like a real businessman. With my profits, I went to the arcade and won a bunch of tickets to trade for prizes. I got a cool miniature basketball hoop for my room. The next week, my parents took me and my little sister Lily on a camping trip. We drove five hours to Lake Arrowhead and set up our tent in the woods. I had never gone camping before, so everything was new and exciting! We hiked to a waterfall, caught fish in the lake, and made s'mores over the campfire at night. One night, we heard a bear sniffing around our campsite! That was scary but also kind of cool.My dad taught me how to set up the tent, start a campfire with flint and steel, and follow a map and compass. I felt like ajunior Boy Scout earning all these new outdoor skills. Lily wasn't as into the "roughing it" lifestyle as me. She complained about not having WiFi and nearly got poison ivy. But I thought camping was awesome and I can't wait to go again. After camping, we visited my grandparents in Florida for a week. I love going to their house because they have a pool, a home theater, and always take us to fun places. We went to Disney World one day and saw all the classic rides and characters.I got my picture taken with Mickey Mouse! We also went to the beach and I learned how to body surf in the waves. My grandpa taught me the perfect way to skim a rock across the water too.My grandma makes the best home-cooked meals. We had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and pecan pie. My favorite! She let me help bake a cake for my grandpa's birthday too. We decorated it with colorful icing and candles. I felt so grown up baking in the kitchen with her.For the Fourth of July, we watched fireworks at the stadium and I got to stay up way past my bedtime. I was so tired the next day but it was totally worth it to see the amazing fireworks show! I've never seen such huge colorful explosions in the night sky. My dad showed me how to spell out words with my mini handheld sparklers too.The last few weeks of summer, I went to day camp at the recreation center. We did so many fun activities like arts and crafts, swimming, field games, talent shows, and even a camp musical at the end! I made a ton of new friends and didn't want camp to end.One of the highlights was the big camp sleepover under the stars. We told scary stories around the campfire, roasted marshmallows, and went on a night hike. Our counselors taught us cool things about the constellations and planets in the night sky. Even though I had been camping already, it was my first time sleeping outside in a sleeping bag. A raccoon tried to steal our snacks in the middle of the night and woke us all up! It was both terrifying and hilarious. On the last day of camp, we had an awesome party with a DJ, dancing, pizza, and ice cream sundaes. I got tons of kids' autographs in my camp notebook as a memento. Camp was so fun that as soon as I got home, I begged my parents to sign me up again for next summer! Now that I'm back in school, summer feels like it was just a dream. But I have so many amazing memories and can't wait to make more next year. Between the adventures, activities, vacations, and time with family and friends, it was the bestsummer ever! Second grade is going to be hard after such an awesome break, but at least I have fun stories to tell my classmates. I just hope next summer is even half as exciting!。

Why?“EXperience is the best teacher” is an old cliché, but I agree with it.The most important, and sometimes the hardest, lessons we learn in life come from our participation in situations. You can’ learn everything from a book.Of course, learning from books in a formal educational setting is also valuable. It’s in schools that we learn the information we need to function in our society. We learn how to speak and write and understand mathematical equations. This is all information that we need to live in our communities and earn a living.Nevertheless, I think that the most important lessons can’t be taught; they have to be eXperienced. No one can teach us how to get along with others or how to have self-respect.As we grow from children into teenagers, no one can teach us how to deal with peer pressure. As we leave adolescence behind and enter adult life, no one can teach us how to fall in love and get married. This shouldn’t stop us from looking for guidelines along the way.Teachers and parents are valuable sources of advice when we’re young. As we enter into new stages in our lives, the advice we receive from them is very helpful because they have already bad similar eXperiences. But eXperiencing our own triumphs and disasters is really the only way to learn how to deal with life.2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇(2)"When people succeed, it is because of hard work, Luck has nothing to do with success." Do you agree or disagree with the quotation above? Use specific and eXamples to eXplain your position. When people succeed, it is because of hard work, but luck has a lot to do with it,too.Success without some luck is almost impossible. The French emperor Napoleon said of one of his generals,“I know he’s good. But is he lucky?” Napoleon knewthat all the hard work and talent in the world can’t make up for bad luck. However, hard work can invite good luck. When it comes to success, luck can mean being in the right place to meet someone, or having the right skills to get a job done.It might mean turning down an offer and then having a better offer come along.Nothing can replace hard work, but working hard also means you’re preparing yourself opportunity.Opportunity very often depends on luck. How many of the great inventions and discoveries came about through a lucky mistake or a lucky chance? One of the biggest lucky mistakes in history is Columbus’ so-called discovery of America. He enriched his sponsors and changed history, but he was really looking for India. However,Columbus’chance discovery wasn’t pure luck.It was backed up by years of studying and calculating. He worked hard to prove his theory that the world was round.Success that comes from pure luck and no hard work can be a real problem. For eXample, consider a teenage girl who becomes a movie star.Imagine she’s been picked from nowhere because of her looks. She is going to feel very insecure, because she knows she didn’t do anything to earn her stardom. On the other hand, think about an actress who’s spend years learning and working at her craft. When she finally has good luck and becomes a success, she will handle stardom better, she knows she earns it.People who work hard help make their own luck by being ready opportunity knocks. When it comes to success.I think that hard work and luck so hand in hand.2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇(3)What are some important qualities of a good supervisor(boss)? Use specific details and eXamples to eXplain why these qualities are important.Even though job situations can be very different, there are several qualities that all good supervisor have in common,A good boss treats all her employees fairly. She doesnt single out one employee for better(or worse)treatment than the others.A poor supervisor has favorites.Sometimes shell even use her favorites to spy on other employees. She eXpects them to tell her what the others are saying about her. This can cause a lot of bad feeling among employees.A good supervisor gives clear and understandable directions. She doesnt constantly change her mind about what she wants employees to do.She also doesnt get angry with an employeewho is confused and needs her to eXplain the directions again or more fully.Delegating authority well is another quality of a good supervisor. She knows how to use the skills of her employees to best advantage.A poor supervisor insists on doing everything herself. She is unwilling to give any authority to others.A good boss evaluates her employees on a reasonable ser of criteria, not on how she feels about them personally. And she lets the employees know what those criteria are, so they have a fair chance of meeting them. She gives both praise and criticism in a straightforward manner. She also offers guidance when needed.A poor supervisor will criticize without giving any suggestions on how to improve. Most importantly, a good supervisor set the standards for her employee by her own behavior. She works hard and treats employees like valuable assets to the company. This promotes good morale among her workers, and this is of great benefit to her business.2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇(4)Should governments spend more money on improving roads and highways, or should governments spends more money on improving public transportation ( buses, trains, subways)? Why? Usespecific reasons and details to develop your essay.Governments should definitely spend more money on improving all forms of public transportation. These include buses, subways and trains. This is the best way to preserve natural resources and reduce pollution. As a planet, we’re dealing with a finite amount of natural resources.Once theyre gone, they cant be replaced. They cant fill our need for oil and gasoline forever. But we seem to forget that and consume them at an incredible rate.In wealthier counties, some families have two or three cars.As soon as teenagers get their drivers licenses, they’re given cars so their parents wont have to drive them places.Public transportation hasnt been sufficiently developed.Because of this, suburban areas surrounding cities have been allowed to sprawl more and more widely. This means that people cant even go to the store without having to hop into the car.Everything is too far away from where they live.If there were better and more frequent public transportation, people would be able to give up their cars for local driving. As a result of all the cars being driven, we’re dealing with terrible pollution problems. In big cities, there are days during the summer when the elderly and people with respiratoryproblems are advised not to leave the house.Ten years ago this was unheard of! Now its the norm.Public transportation would cut down considerably on air pollution.Public transportation also encourages a sense of community.People who travel to work together all the time get to know each other.Car isolate us from neighbors. However, people feel they need to drive because they cant depend on public transportation to fit their schedules. If more money were available, buses, subways and trains could run 24 hours a day. Then they would be available all the time to the people who need them.I always try to take public transportation whenever possible, and I encourage friends and neighbors to try it too.I think we must support public transportation in order to create a better world.2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇(5)To: All students taking IT course at the university. From: The department chair.Date: July 25, 20__.Subject: Submission of your final project. It has come to our notice that some of you have not submitted their final year projects which is very crucial at this momentbecause it determines whether you will graduate or not.In the previous years, we have had the same incidents and students usually come back to me crying when they find out that their name is not on the graduation list. The project will account for forty percent of your final grade and that is why it should be taken seriously. On that note the department has given out a deadline of 3rd august 20__,if you do not have submitted your project by then, you will have to wait 1 academic year to graduate. You are all advised to submit your project before the due date as we do not want you to suffer when it comes to graduation. Thanks in advance.Yours sincerely,Department chai2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇6)on university tuition system in chinadirections: it is reported that many universities in china have begun to charge students for tuition.should university students in china pay their own tuition ? state two opposite opinions and illustrate them in detail.write an essay of about 200 words within 40 minutes.tuition system has become one of the hottest topics in china since it was put into effect.reports on this topic are publishedin a variety of newspapers and magazines.people differ greatly in their opinions on it.some people think that there is no university in the world which is open to students without tuition.as far as china is concerned,it is a developing country with the largest population in the world.the government is unable to allocate enough funds to pay for various teaching facilities and many different kinds of eXpenses.one of the ways to relieve the problem is for students to pay tuition.the money raised in this way can be used to improve the conditions for running schools.others, however, are opposed to the tuition system.they argue that the living standard of the chinese people, especially of those in the poor rural areas, is still low, compared with that in the western world.the university tuition will certainly add to the already heavy burden of the parents, who live on their salaries or wages.moreover, tuition may become an obstacle to the development of china’s higher education.this is because it hinders some talented people from entering the university just on account of their poverty.(210 words)2023年全国硕士研究生英语作文(篇7)In the pictures above are a father and her beloved son.Inthe left cartoon, smoking a cigarette and sitting in a sofa comfortably, the father is watching a football match on TV and shouting,“Son, study hard for me!” On the contrary, in the left portrayal, at 9 p.m., the father is studying together with his son, both totally absorbed in their books. The caption indicates,“Instead of merely making a request, setting an eXample.”The purpose of the pictures is to show us that utmost significance should be attached to practicing what you preach. On the one hand, parents teach much more by their actions, than by their words. Some of them may say to their children,“don’t say nasty things about so and so”, and then the children will hear them criticize their friends and neighbors. On the other hand, parenting is such a crucial responsibility, yet there are no required courses to prepare one to undertake this role in life. The only learning is the eXample from one’s own parents. To sum up, parents are the best teachers.Obviously, if parents’ actions don’t conflict their own words, they would have the opportunity to be outstanding eXamples of their children.Just as an old saying goes,“Action speak louder than words.”。

研究生英语作文大全范文研究生英语作文1:Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, more and more people are using smartphones. However, this phenomenon has raised concerns about whether excessive use of smartphones is detrimental to people's health.Firstly, the excessive use of smartphones can lead to physical health issues. Many people spend long hours staring at their screens, which can cause eye strain, dryness, and discomfort. Moreover, the habit of constantly looking down at the screen can lead to poor posture and neck strain. These physical problems can significantly impact people's daily lives and productivity.Secondly, excessive smartphone use can have negative effects on mental health. People who spend too much time on their phones often suffer from loneliness and social isolation. Instead of engaging in face-to-face interactions, they become absorbed in virtual communication, leading to a lack of real human connections. This can contribute to feelings of depression and anxiety.Additionally, excessive smartphone use can disrupt sleep patterns. Many people use their phones right before bed, which exposes them to the blue light emitted by the screens. This blue light can interfere with the production of melatonin, a hormone that regulates sleep. As a result, people may experience difficulty falling asleep or poor quality sleep, which can negatively impact their overall well-being.To mitigate these negative effects, it is essential for individuals to set boundaries and limitations on smartphone use. For example, allocating a specific time for phone-free activities, such as exercise or spending time with loved ones, can help reduce excessive screen time. Moreover, turning off notifications or using features that limit screen time can also be effective strategies. In conclusion, excessive use of smartphones can have detrimental effects on both physical and mental health. It is crucial for individuals to be aware of these potential risks and take steps to establish a healthy balance between smartphone use and other aspects of their lives. By doing so, people can maintain their well-being and enjoy the benefits of technology without compromising their health.。

研究生英语作文 难忘的事

研究生英语作文 难忘的事

研究生英语作文难忘的事There is an unforgettable memory that I would like to share with everyone. It was during my graduate studies when I had the opportunity to participate in a research project that broadened my knowledge and skills, and gave me a new perspective on my academic field. The project involved a study on the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems. As a marine biology student, I was excited to be part of this research, as it was highly relevant and timely. The research team consisted of professors, fellow graduate students, and experts in the field.During the initial phase, we conducted an extensive literature review to understand the current knowledge on the topic. This required going through numerous scientific journals, articles, and reports. The process was overwhelming at first, but as we progressed, we began to identify patterns and trends in the research outcomes.Once we had a thorough understanding of the existing literature, we designed and implemented our own experiments. We focused on studying the impact of rising ocean temperatures on coral reefs and their associated communities. This involved setting up controlled environments in the laboratory to simulate various temperature scenarios.Carrying out the experiments was both challenging and fascinating. We had to carefully monitor the water temperature and maintain optimal conditions for the coral and other organisms. We alsorecorded their growth rates, behavior, and overall health indicators. As the data started to accumulate, we spent hours analyzing and interpreting the results. We utilized statistical software and consulted with experts to ensure accuracy in our findings. It was extremely rewarding to observe how our research contributed to the existing body of knowledge and generated new insights. In addition to the laboratory work, we also had the opportunity to go on field trips to collect data from different marine habitats. These excursions brought us closer to nature and provided a more holistic understanding of the ecosystems we were studying. It was awe-inspiring to observe the beauty and diversity of marine life firsthand. The final phase of the research project involved presenting our findings at a national conference. This was a nerve-wracking but exhilarating experience. I was proud to share the results of our hard work and discuss our methodology with fellow researchers from around the country. The feedback and discussions sparked new ideas and collaborations, which added to the significance of our research.Overall, this research project taught me invaluable lessons in critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. It deepened my passion for marine biology and instilled in me a sense of responsibility to contribute to the scientific community. It was an unforgettable experience that shaped my graduate studies and will undoubtedly influence my future career in the field.。

讨论研究生的英语作文As an international student pursuing a postgraduate degree abroad, I have been intrigued by the challenges and opportunities that come with it. In this essay, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing postgraduate studies and share my perspective. One of the key advantages of pursuing postgraduate education is the opportunity for in-depth knowledge and specialization in a specific field. Unlike undergraduate studies, postgraduate programs provide a deeper understanding of the subject matter, enabling students to become experts in their chosen field. This expertise can lead to better job prospects and career growth in the future.Another advantage is the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research. Postgraduate students often have the chance to work closely with leading scholars and researchers in their field, which enhances their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Engaging in research also allows students to contribute to the existing body of knowledge and make a meaningful impact in their field of study.Furthermore, pursuing postgraduate studies often involves collaboration and networking with fellow students from diverse backgrounds. This diversity fosters a dynamic learning environment, where students can exchange ideas, gain new perspectives, and develop intercultural competence. Additionally, networking opportunities can open doors to collaborations and future career prospects. However, pursuing postgraduate studies also comes with some challenges. Firstly, the workload can be overwhelming, requiring students to manage their time effectively and develop strong organizational skills. The expectations and academic rigor at the postgraduate level may be significantly higher compared to undergraduate studies, demanding a higher level of dedication and commitment.Additionally, the cost of pursuing postgraduate education can be a significant burden for many students. Tuition fees, living expenses, and other associated costs may pose financial stress. Scholarships and grants can alleviate some of these financial burdens, but not all students have access to such opportunities.Lastly, there may be intense competition and limited job opportunities upon completing postgraduate studies. Depending on the field of study and location, the job market can be highly competitive, and finding suitable employment may require perseverance and adaptability. Therefore, postgraduate students need to enhance their skills, build a strong professional network, and stay updated with industry trends and demands. In conclusion, pursuing postgraduate studies offers numerous advantages such as in-depth knowledge, research opportunities, and networking. However, it also comes with challenges such as an overwhelming workload, financial burden, and intense competition in the job market. Despite the challenges, the benefits of postgraduate education, including increased expertise and career opportunities, make it a worthwhile endeavor for many individuals.。

写一个关于研究生学习的英语作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Studying to Be a Grown-Up StudentHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm 8 years old. I'm going to tell you all about what it's like to be a grown-up student called a "graduate student." It's kinda like being a big kid who still has to go to school, but it's way harder than normal school. Let me explain! When you're a graduate student, you get to pick one subject that youreeeeally like and want to study a whole lot. Maybe you really like flowers and plants, so you decide to study "botany." Or maybe you're obsessed with stars and planets, so you pick "astronomy." Me? I think I'd want to study dinosaurs and fossils because they are just the coolest!Once you pick your favorite subject, you get to take lots of classes all about that one topic. The classes are called "courses" and they are taught by professory people who are super duper smart about that subject. They've studied it for a bajillion years and know everything there is to know! Pretty neat, huh?The courses are way harder than normal school though. You have to read thick, boring books and write massively long papers and essays. No fun worksheets or coloring here! The professors just lecture at you for hours while you frantically take notes. Sometimes they use funny words you've never heard before and you have to ask what they mean. It's like learning a whole new language!Speaking of languages, some graduate students have to learn other actual languages too! If you want to study something like ancient Egyptian history, you might need to learn how to read and write hieroglyphics. Or if you're studying literature from another country, you'd better brush up on French or Spanish or Swahili. All those funny squiggles and accent marks make my brain hurt just thinking about it!When you aren't sitting in a lecture or teaching yourself a new language, graduate students also have to do experiments and research projects. Basically you have to try to discover brand new information that no human has ever known before! For a science student, that might mean mixing a bunch of chemicals together to see what happens. For a history student, it could mean digging through vintage documents from the 1800slooking for clues about the past. You get to be like a real-life scientist or detective! The best part about being a graduate student is that you get to write a mega huge paper called a "thesis" about your experiment/research findings. It's like the hugest book report you've ever seen - maybe 100 pages long! You work on it for months or even years, making sure every single fact is correct. Then you have to stand up in front of professorsy people and give a big speech explaining your thesis. If they approve, you finally earn a diploma that says you mastered your favorite subject. That means you're an "expert" and can go get a job using your smarts! After all that work, graduate students usually feel both smart and stressed! They know more about their topic than just about anyone else in the world. But also, their brain is completely fried from all the reading, writing, learning, andスpeechin'. Most make a solemn pinky-promise never to be a student again! So there you have it - the inside scoop on being a graduate student. It sounds like a bajillion times harder than normal school to me! All those lectures, essays, and impossible assignments? No thank you! I'd rather just play and have fun.Guess I'll just have to settle for being an 8-year-old dinosaur expert instead. Roarrrrr!篇2Going to Grad School by Little TimmyHi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. Today I want to tell you all about grad school because my big sister Jessica just started her master's program and I've learned a bunch about it!First of all, what even is grad school? Well, it's school after you finish your bachelor's degree, which is the first degree you get at a university. Grad school means more school to study something really specific and become a true expert. There are different types like getting a master's degree or a doctoral degree. A master's is just 1-2 more years while a doctoral takes 4-6 years usually.Jessica is doing her master's in engineering because she wants to design cool new robots and machines. She had to apply by writing essays about why she's a great student and what she wants to study. Then she had to take a big test called the GRE to get admitted. It was super hard and she studied for months! Getting into a good grad program is really competitive. Now that she's started classes, Jessica has to take a lot of advanced courses on all the tiny details of mechanical engineering. I peeked at one of her textbooks and it was full of crazy equations and diagrams I couldn't make any sense of! She also has to do research by building prototype robots and running experiments on them. It looks like a ton of work. One thing Jessica stresses about a lot is money. Grad school isn't free, and her tuition plus living expenses in the city where her university is costs a fortune! She had to take out big student loans, which means borrowing money that she'll have to pay back after graduating. Some of her friends have assistantships where they get paid a small amount to be a teacher's assistant in exchange for free tuition. Jessica is trying to get an assistantship position next semester. It's not all work and no play though. Jessica's university has a gym, sports teams, clubs, parties every weekend, and lots of fun events happening. Her classes only meet a couple times per week too, so she has plenty of free time. She lives with three other girls in a little apartment close to campus. They cook dinner together and go out and do fun stuff on the weekends when they're not crazy busy with schoolwork.I think the hardest part of grad school for Jessica has been the level of focus and time management required. In undergrad, you take a variety of different classes in an area like chemistry or English literature. But grad students take only a small number of highly specialized courses every semester, all zeroed in on their precise field of study. Like Jessica is taking courses this term solely about different materials used in manufacturing and the properties of each type of metal or polymer. So crazy specific! It requires excellent discipline to stay on track.Jessica has learned that grad school is a major commitment and not to be taken lightly. It demands incredible work ethic, passion for your subject area, and resilience when the going gets tough. There's a ton of pressure to do well since grad students are expected to produce groundbreaking original research and make new discoveries that advance human knowledge in their discipline. Just writing a thesis or dissertation at the end can take over a year of intense work! But if you make it through, Jessica says the rewards are totally worth it. Having a graduate degree allows you to get hired for incredible high-level jobs at top companies and organizations. You'll be an expert considered one of the brightest minds in your field. Plus you gain invaluable skills likecritical thinking, research abilities, written and oral communication, and complex problem solving. No matter what career you pursue, those skillsets are hugely valuable.Jessica plans to use her master's degree to become an engineer at a company designing renewable energy infrastructure like wind turbines, solar panels, and hydroelectric power systems. She feels a responsibility to help create technologies that will combat climate change and make the world more sustainable. With her advanced training, she'll be equipped to work on cutting-edge innovations. So in summary, grad school is seriously hard work but lets you achieve your biggest dreams and ambitions! You have to sacrifice a lot in the short term -- your social life, finances, and free time. But in the long run, being a master of your craft allows you to customize a dream career path and contribute something unique and meaningful to society. I'm really proud of my sister for pursuing her passion and hope she changes the world!Well, thanks for reading my essay! I had fun teaching you all about the life of a grad student. Maybe someday I'll go myself after getting my bachelor's degree and become a leading expert in...ummm...professional tag? Or candy manufacturing? We'll see!For now, I've got practice and just being a regular kid. Let me know if you have any other questions!篇3My Big Sister is a Graduate StudentMy big sister Kelly is a graduate student and I think that's really cool! She goes to a big school called a "university" to study really hard subjects. I'm only in 3rd grade so a lot of what she learns is way over my head, but I'll try my best to explain it.Kelly is getting her "master's degree" which is a step above a bachelor's degree that you get from college. I'm not totally sure what the difference is, but I know the master's takes longer and is a lot harder. Kelly had to take these really difficult tests called the GRE just to get into her master's program! The scores you need are super high from what I understand.Once you get into a master's program, you take advanced classes called "graduate seminars" where you read a ton of thick books and write really long papers. Kelly is always holed up in her room reading and typing away at her laptop. Sometimes she has to write papers that are 25 pages or more! That's like a short book! I can barely write a 5 paragraph essay without feeling drained. The classes Kelly takes cover very specialized topics too. She's studying Applied Linguistics, which has to do with learning languages and how to teach them effectively. Some of the classes she's taken have crazy names like "Sociolinguistic Perspectives on Second Language Acquisition" and "Fundamentals of Phonetic Analysis." I don't even know what half of those words mean!In addition to all her tough classes, Kelly also has to work as a "teaching assistant" which means she teaches small sections of bigger undergraduate classes. So on top of being a student herself, she's also responsible for grading assignments and holding office hours to help other students. It sounds like a lot to juggle if you ask me!Another big part of Kelly's life as a grad student is her "thesis" which is this gigantic research paper she has to write in order to graduate. It has to be really long and original - like making an important new contribution to her field. She's been working on it slowly over the past year by reading a ton, collecting data, and writing little by little.Just this semester, Kelly had to do a "thesis proposal" where she went in front of a panel of professors and explained what her thesis will be about and why it matters. She was so nervousbeforehand because they could potentially reject her proposal and make her start over. Luckily they approved it though, so now it's full steam ahead on finishing the actual thesis!Kelly has told me that grad school is a really big commitment and it can be incredibly stressful at times. She has to carefully budget her time and stay extremely organized or else she'd easily fall behind. Some weeks she has to put in 60-70 hours between teaching, classes, research, and writing. That's more than my parents work! There's also a lot of criticism and rejection that grad students face. Faculty members will pick apart your ideas and papers, pointing out any tiny flaw or weakness. You have to develop really thick skin. And good luck getting papers accepted to academic journals or conferences - Kelly has gotten dozens of rejections just in the past year. But despite all the challenges, Kelly seems to really love being a grad student. She gets to devote herself fully to learning about something she's passionate about. She learns from acclaimed experts who are at the cutting edge of their fields. Her program is relatively small so she's gotten to know her professors and classmates really well too. They go out for dinner and drinks sometimes which sounds fun. There are also lots of opportunities for grad students to travel and share their work. Just last month, Kelly went to a huge linguistics conference in Boston to present some of her research findings. She got to meet scholars from all around the world and explore a new city at the same time.Best of all, once Kelly finishes her master's degree in a year, she'll be qualified for all sorts of great jobs. She could work as a university instructor and researcher, doing what she lovesfull-time. Or she could get into a specialized field like speech therapy, translation services, or corporate training. Maybe she'll even decide to go for her "Ph.D." which is an even higher degree!I probably won't really understand what Kelly's graduate experience was fully like until I'm an adult. But from what I can tell, it's an incredibly demanding yet rewarding path. You have to be extraordinarily dedicated and make big sacrifices. But if you stick with it, grad school can open up all kinds of amazing opportunities in academia and beyond. My big sis is facing a ton of stress right now, but I'm really proud of her drive and I know her hard work will pay off!篇4My Life as a Grad StudentHi there! My name is Tommy and I'm 8 years old. I know what you're thinking - how can an 8-year-old kid be a graduate student? Well, let me tell you all about my crazy life!It all started when I accidentally drank some weird purple liquid from my scientist uncle's lab. The next thing I knew, I woke up and my brain felt like it had been supercharged! I could understand advanced physics, do calculus in my head, and even speak fluent Mandarin (which is really hard with my lisp). My parents were really confused at first, but then they realized that their little boy had become a genius overnight. They decided to let me skip a whole bunch of grades and go straight to university. I have to admit, it was pretty fun being the smallest kid on campus. I even got a cool loft bed in my dorm room!At first, all the university classes were pretty easy for me. I aced all my exams without even trying. But then I decided to really challenge myself by going to graduate school to get a Ph.D. That's when things got really crazy! My first day of grad school, I walked into the huge science building feeling pretty confident. But as soon as the professor started talking about quantum electrodynamics and unified field theory, my head started spinning. No matter how smart I was, this stuff was really, really hard!I spent long nights in the library, poring over giant textbooks and scratching out equations on my mini chalkboard. My favorite snack became gummy worms and Cherry Coke for a sugar rush to keep me going. The other students were all much older than me, but they were pretty nice. Although they did laugh at me when I brought my Pokémon lunchbox to the lab.Doing research experiments was the best part of grad school.I got to play around with lasers, million-dollar microscopes, and even a mini particle accelerator! Of course, there were a few...mishaps. Like the time I accidentally set my shoelaces on fire with a bunsen burner. Or when I mixed the wrong chemicals together and let's just say the explosion gave me a brand new haircut.Writing my dissertation was probably the hardest thing I've ever done in my whole life. I had to come up with a completely new theory that could revolutionize our understanding of the universe. No pressure, right? I spent months locked in my room with equations covering every inch of my walls. My brain felt like melting spaghetti by the end of it.But you know what? I did it! I finally figured out my big theory and defended my dissertation in front of the most intimidating scientists on the planet. Seeing the look of shock ontheir faces when this tiny kid showed them something they'd never dreamed of...that feeling was worth all the hard work. Now I'm officially Dr. Tommy with a Ph.D. in theoretical physics! I'm not even 10 years old yet and I'm one of the youngest scientists in the world. My parents are super proud of me, even though they don't really understand my crazy equations. So what's next for me? Well, I've been offered professorships at tons of prestigious universities. I'm also thinking of writing some books to share my theories with the world. Or maybe I'll just take a break and be a normal kid again, at least for a little while. Whatever I do, I know my future is going to be amazing!Being a grad student was definitely the wildest, craziest experience of my life so far. If you think getting a Ph.D. is hard, try doing it when you're barely tall enough to reach the blackboard! But I wouldn't trade my child genius adventures for anything. I may be tiny, but I've got a gigantic brain...and an even bigger dream to change the world.篇5Grad School is Super Duper Hard But Also Really Neat!Hi everyone! My name is Timmy and I'm 8 years old. Today I want to tell you all about grad school because I heard my older brother talking about it and it sounds totally wild!First off, grad school is where you go after you finish your bachelor's degree in college. So it's like the extra bonus levels after you beat the main game! From what I understand, grad school is super duper hard. Way harder than elementary school even!In grad school, you basically become an expert in one very small and specific topic. My brother is studying to get his master's degree in communications, which is all about how people send messages and information to each other. Wild, right? He has to read a bazillion books and papers on communications theory, attend a bunch of classes, write huge papers, and even do his own research project that no one has ever done before! All that just to become a master of communications? No thanks, I'll stick to finger painting for now.But as tough as it sounds, grad school also seems really neat in its own way. My brother gets to learn from the smartest professors who know everything about communications. He goes to seminars and meets researchers from all over the world. And he gets to use cool tools like statistics software and media labs that we definitely don't have at my elementary school.Best of all, once you finish grad school, you get an awesome degree that makes you like a superhero in your field of study. With a master's, my brother could get a great job teaching at a university or working at a big company figuring out how to advertise their products. If he decides to go for a PhD, which is like the master of all masters degrees, he could become a professor himself and make incredible discoveries about communication!Still, grad school definitely doesn't seem like a walk in the park. My brother is always stressed out about deadlines for papers and projects. He has to carefully budget his time between classes, research, teaching assistant duties where he helps professors with their classes, and still trying to have a social life. Sometimes he looks like an exhausted zombie from staying up too late studying and working. I'm just a kid but even I can tell grad school is a total grind! But you know what? I actually kind of admire my brother for taking on such a huge challenge. It would be so easy for him to just settle for his bachelor's and get an okay job. Instead, he'sdeciding to dedicate several more years of his life to becoming one of the best in his field. That's perseverance!Who knows, maybe one day when I'm all grown up, I'll brave the trenches of grad school too. Although I'm probably more likely to get a master's degree in drawing dinosaurs or professional napping. A PhD in recess studies would be cool. Hey, an 8-year-old can dream!Anyway, that's the 411 on grad school from this third grader's perspective. It's one intense academic journey filled with reading, writing, researching, presenting, and becoming a straight-up master of your topic. Not for the faint of heart! But if you've got the stamina and the passion, grad school could be the ultimate way to take your knowledge and skills to the maximus level. Just be prepared to pull a lot of all-nighters cramming your brain full of super advanced information. Wrapping up now before this turns into a grad-level thesis! Thanks for coming to my TED talk, young and old folks. School is pretty cool, no matter what level you're at. Peace out!篇6My Big Cousin the Grad StudentMy big cousin Rachel is a grad student and she is super smart! She is studying to get her Master's degree which means she is in a school even bigger than the university that my parents went to. I don't totally understand what she is studying but I know it has something to do with science and the environment.Rachel used to live with my aunt and uncle in their house but when she started grad school she had to move to a new city to go to her school. She lives in a small apartment now instead of a big house. The apartment doesn't have her own kitchen or living room, just a bedroom and a bathroom! She has to share the kitchen with other people who also live there. I don't know how she cooks without her own stove and oven.Even though Rachel is taking classes, it is different than when I go to my elementary school. She doesn't have a teacher lecturing at the front of a classroom all day. Instead, she has to go find information and learn it on her own by reading lots of books and scientific papers. She says grad school is a lot of independent work. She also has to do her own experiments and studies as part of her research. I'm not totally sure what that means but it sounds very difficult!Rachel is always telling me about how busy and stressed she is. She has so much work to do between her classes, research, teaching responsibilities, and trying to get good grades. She pulls a lot of late nights up working and studying instead of sleeping. Sometimes she looks really tired with raccoon eyes from not getting enough rest. I don't know how she does it!The best part about being a grad student for Rachel is that she gets to work as a teaching assistant. That means she is kind of like a teacher's helper in some of the big lecture classes at her university. She explains concepts to the students, answers their questions, grades their work, and even leads discussion sections. Even though it's extra work, Rachel says she really enjoys teaching and interacting with the undergrad students.Another cool part is that as a grad student, Rachel gets to work closely with prestigious professors who are experts in her field of study. She learns a ton from them through one-on-one meetings to discuss her research. The professors give her feedback and guidance. Rachel hopes that impressing them with her hard work and research will allow her to get great job opportunities after graduating. The downsides of grad school for Rachel are that she has very little free time, is always feeling stressed, and has to live pretty frugally on a small grad student stipend salary. She can't really afford extra fun activities, vacations, or eating out a lot. Most of her money goes to paying rent, bills, textbooks, and basic food. She definitely has to live a simple life without many luxuries while focusing just on school. But Rachel says it is all worth it because once she earns her Master's degree, she will be able to get a good job helping the environment that she really cares about. She is working so hard now to build skills and knowledge that will allow her to have a career she is passionate about in the future. I don't know if I would want to live like a busy grad student myself, but I am proud of my cousin Rachel for being so dedicated and not giving up! She has to make a lot of sacrifices now, but in a couple more years she will finally be done with grad school. Then she can get her dream job without being a struggling student anymore. I just hope she starts getting more sleep soon before she turns into a zombie from exhaustion! Being a grad student seems really tough but I know Rachel can power through it with her brains and perseverance.。

1 Nothing succeeds like the Appearance of SuccessIf you want a good impression with others, your first concern must be a winning self-image. A person with a losing self-image will never project a winning self-image in others. This kind of persons may fool some people for a while, but his poor self-image will never make it possible for him to relate favorably to the other people. Through the ages, some great philosophers have stated: “You are what you want you are.”It’s imperative to have a winning self-image of yourself if you want to create same impression in others. No matter who you are, everything worthwhile you have is all determined by your self-image. Your happiness is based on it. You will only live one life, and in order to enjoy it, you must have a winning self-image. Since we can all choose how we want to think ourselves, our thoughts should try to be positive and winning. In an attempt to build a winning image, you must begin with the self, otherwise, the image you strive for will be supported by nothing but a sand-like foundation.Any athlete will tell you that you should know you are a winner in order to be one. To many, this message sounds like a double-talk, but it contains a true essential. Although you can apply this short message to anything in your life, I still want to use a athletic as a basis of illustrating my thoughts about self-image because sports involves physical exertion by which desired results can be achieved.2 How to win loveAs we know, people are starved for love. They watch endless numbers of films about happy and unhappy love stories and listen to hundreds of trashy songs about love, yet hardly anyone considers that there is anything that needs to be learned about how to win love.Franklin had said that:” If you would be loved, love and be lovable.”I think he want to tell us that if you are going to love a boy or a girl, you must do two things, to love with your heart and to know how to be lovable.Generally speaking, you should make yourself attractive and lovable, since love usually starts from physical attraction. To achieve this goal, you may develop pleasant manners, interesting conversation, to be helpful, modest and inoffensive. For further relationship, you must know that love is respect, wanting to help that person in any aspect of his or her live. You should make your lover feel safe with you, be proud of being with you and share hopes and dreams with you. That is to say, you will be together with your lover no matter what happened now or later until the day you pass away. May love live forever!4 E-mail, a Blessing or a CurseE-mail has become a certain important part in almost everybody's daily life, and billions of emails are exchanged on the internet everyday. But with the quick development of internet and email technologies, there also are some bad impacts of email to people's life. For example, the worst can be called junk mails. There’s nothing that matters with you and even some of them contain some kinds of virus. Imagine this, you are busy with your work everyday, and a most important part of your job every morning is to check the email and reply to your customs, but when you open you mailbox, all you find is those junk mails! They might be called curse by some people, as it really influences your mood in life or work. When you open the mail with virus unconsciously, you may have a big problem to deal with, nobody wants it to happen. I just wonder why there are so many people creating junk mail everyday and send it to people all around the world! Yeah, it's better to find something useful in some junk mails, but seldom can you do that. However, we have to say all the things in the world have their bad and also good aspects at the same time, we just can't doubt about it. People use emails to transfer information like emotions and other feelings! For a student studying abroad, it's definitely significant for him or her to send emails to parents. As you can see, emails are much cheaper than phone calls and much convenient in some situations. If you can't say "Ilove you" in a real world, you may choose the way of sending an email to him or her instead which is much easier and efficient. So when talking about things just like above, we have to admit that e-mails are blessing, at least it's much more a blessing than a curse. All in all, in my opinion, the advantages of the email far outweigh the disadvantages. I have to say that it dose take a lot of convenient to our daily lives, so maybe we can put up with its little shortcomings.5 Humor-A Pillow That Cushions the BlowA sense of humor is universally the most important asset in a person’s personality. It’s born within the people’s heart but it has to be cultivated. A person without a sense of humor is like a spring without flowers or a dish without seasoning. In a sense, your personality lies in your sense of humor.Humor can enhance our physical as well as mental well being. It can help us relieve pressure, reduce tension, help us overcome frustrations, dissolute the countless trifles and irritations offered by day to day life. With the crack of a joke, all our worries, sadness and fatigue disappear like the mist and we’re full of vigor once again. Besides, humor can help us stay in a harmony with others, with it you can always stay on goodterms with other persons. One way to cultivate a sense of humor is to have a wide variety of knowledge so that the slightest differences can be understood. Otherwise, you will be simply at a loss in such a situation. On the other hand, a crucial point of developing a sense of humor is to have a rich imagination. Nothing is much worse than lack of the capability of imagination to kill a otherwise funny joke.A sense of humor is one of ways in which we can relax and recreate ourselves. The things we find humor can vary, but to have a sense of humor is very important and should be cultivated positively to get the most out of life7 My attitude towards lifei am an independent free girl, nothing should bind my fingers and feet, nothing could kill my passion towards life. the passion is the answer for living, that is, the love of things, everything that may catch your eyeballs.i am not a genius, and i don't care whether my iq or eq is high or not. this really doesn't matter. what i care about is the passion and the courage to grasp my own life, be my own lord. say it out aloud: it's your own life, no one can interrupt. i could make it better or worse, all depend on my descion. now consider, what do you want to feel and get from life, whichis just so wonderful? if you have any desire from life, you need to pay for what you get. so be positive, use hard work very hard to get what you want. in the same process, you could produce sth meaningful to others and the society.which is wonderful. the world belongs to me, i will make the best of it, no matter other people are helping or destroying. just pusuit on my own...8 Super woman vs. Supermom. With the worldwide women liberation movement in last century, women are totally liberated from the traditional housework and are playing a more and more important role in today's social society. Nowadays, they can do anything they want just like men. We saw great women with remarkable achievements in different fields: the Nobel winner, Marie Curie who made such a notable and special contribution in chemistry; the famous American writer Hailun Kaile who is blind and deaf but never gave up pursuing her own dreams; the famous Actress, the Oscar winner, Audrey Hepburn who left great movies with her unforgettable, pretty and lively images to us, who also dedicated herself to the UNICEF to help the worldwide poor children; etc. All of these women are superwomen, possessing their own decent, respectable careersand independent, smart, strong personalities. They contributed themselves to the society, to the world a lot so as to realize their own values. All of their great achievements could hardly be imagined hundreds of years ago. However, many other women just want their normal lives: marriage, babies and families. Rather than hunting for new opportunities in their career, they would prefer to focus on their families. That's also another kind of achievement to themselves, also to the society. They believe in the traditional perspective that "a woman's place is in the home".There are also a lot women just want it all, career, marriage and babies. This may bring a lot of pressure to themselves. An appropriate balance would probably slow down their paces and may be helpful for them to think over the meaning of life. It's definitely too hard to simply judge whether it's good or not to want it all. The world we are living in is a more diverse and a more opened world to every single one of us, especially to women. You can just take up whatever you want. The liberation of women gives every female another meaningful option to realize themselves in different fields other than just staying at home, looking after the families. However, the choice is in your hand. Whatever the choice is, the most important thing to keep in mind is the feeling of happiness which men and women have pursued for thousands of years ever since we were created.。
