A Spine-Chilling Adventure: Exploring the Haunted House。

Every year, during the crisp autumn nights, my friends and I embark on a tradition – visiting a haunted house. This year, we decided to step up the thrill and explore one of the most infamous haunted houses in town. With nerves tingling and excitement brewing, we gathered at theentrance of the decrepit mansion, ready to delve into the unknown. As we stood before the imposing structure, its dilapidated facade loomed over us like a specter from the past. The wind whispered eerie melodies through thecreaking doors, inviting us to unlock the secrets within. With a mixture of trepidation and curiosity, we crossed the threshold into the darkness. The interior was as chilling as the exterior promised. Dust-covered furniture adorned the rooms, their shadows dancing in the flickering candlelight. Every step echoed ominously, as if the house itself was alive, breathing with a sinister energy. Yet, undeterred by fear, we pressed on, eager to uncover the mysteries hidden within its walls. The first room we entered sent shivers down our spines. Cobwebs clung to the corners like ghostly veils, and portraits of unknown figures stared down at us with hollow eyes. A sudden gust of wind extinguished our candles, plunging us into darkness. Panic briefly gripped us until someone fumbled for matches, relighting our way forward. With each room we explored, the atmosphere grew more oppressive, the air thick with the weight of the house's history. We encountered locked doors that seemed to lead nowhere and secret passages that whispered of long-forgotten secrets. Yet, we pushed onward, fueled by adrenaline and the camaraderie of friendship. As we delved deeper into the labyrinthine corridors, we began to experience strange occurrences. Doors slammed shut behind us, and eerie whispers echoed in the darkness. Shadows seemed to move of their own accord, and cold drafts brushed against our skin like ghostly fingertips. Despite our growing unease, we remained determined to unravel the mysteries of the haunted house.Just when we thought we couldn't bear another moment of suspense, we stumbled upon a hidden chamber concealed behind a false wall. Inside, we discovered a collection of old journals and artifacts, each offering a glimpse into the house's tragic past. It was then that we realized the true nature of the haunting – a tale of love and loss that had lingered for centuries, waiting to be uncovered.Leaving the haunted house behind, we emerged into the pale light of dawn, our hearts still racing from the adrenaline-fueled adventure. Though we had faced our fearsand survived the night, the memories of our journey would haunt us long after we left the crumbling mansion behind. In the end, our visit to the haunted house was more than just a thrill-seeking escapade – it was a testament to the enduring power of friendship and the courage to confront the unknown. And as we bid farewell to the haunted house, we carried with us not only its secrets but also the bonds that had grown stronger in the face of fear.---。

"What are we going to do with the $650 in silver coins? That was a good robbery!" said the small, dirty man. "Let's take about $30 with us now and hide the bag here. We can come back to get it soon," said Injun Joe. The small, dirty man moved a big stone in the fireplace and pulled out a bag. He took some money from the bag. Injun Joe started digging near the fireplace with his knife. Tom and Huck watched with excitement.

Every young boy wants to find a treasure. And Tom did too. One hot summer day he told Huck about his idea. "Where can we look for a treasure?" asked Huck happily. "Robbers put treasure under old trees or in old houses. We can start digging under the old tree on Cardiff Hill. Come on! Let's go!" The boys went to Cardiff Hill and started digging. It was a hot day and they dug for a few hours. "There's nothing under this tree," said Huck. “I„m hot and tired,” said Tom, “Let‟s go to the haunted house.

The Fall of the House of Usher《

The-Haunted-House-by-Virginia-Woolf

The Haunted Houseby Virginia WoolfWhatever hour you woke there was a door shutting. From room to room they went, hand in hand, lifting here, opening there, making sure--a ghostly couple.‘Here we left it,’ she said. And he added, ‘Oh, but here too!’‘It's upstairs,’ she murmured. ‘And in the garden,’ he whispered. ‘Quietly,’ they said, ‘or we shall wake them.’But it wasn't that you woke us. Oh, no. ‘They're looking for it; they're drawing the curtain,’ one might say, and so read on a page or two.’ Nowthey've found it,’ one would be certain, stopping the pencil on the margin. And then, tired of reading, one might rise and see for oneself, the house all empty, the doors standing open, only the wood pigeons bubbling with content and the hum of the threshing machine sounding from the farm.’ What did I come in here for? What did I want to find?’ My hands were empty. ‘Perhaps it’s upstairs then?’ The apples were in the loft. And so down again, the garden still as ever, only the book had slipped into the grass. But they had found it in the drawing room. Not that one could ever see them. The window panes reflected apples, reflected roses; all the leaves were green in the glass. If they moved in the drawing room, the apple only turned its yellow side. Yet, the moment after, if the door was opened, spread about the floor, hung upon the walls, pendant from the ceiling--what? My hands were empty. The shadow of a thrush crossed the carpet; from the deepest wells of silence the wood pigeon drew its bubble of sound. ‘Safe, safe, safe,’ the pulse of the house beat softly.’ The treasure buried; the room . . .’ the pulse stopped short. Oh, was that the buried treasure?A moment later the light had faded. Out in the garden then? But the trees spun darkness for a wandering beam of sun. So fine, so rare, coolly sunk beneath the surface the beam I sought always burned behind the glass. Death was the glass; death was between us, coming to the woman first, hundreds of years ago, leaving the house, sealing all the windows; the rooms were darkened. He left it, left her, went North, went East, saw the stars turned in the Southern sky; sought the house, found it dropped beneath the Downs.‘Safe, safe, safe,’ the pulse of the house beat gladly. ‘The Treasure yours.’The wind roars up the avenue. Trees stoop and bend this way and that. Moonbeams splash and spill wildly in the rain. But the beam of the lamp falls straight from the window. The candle burns stiff and still. Wandering through the house, opening the windows, whispering not to wake us, the ghostly couple seek their joy.‘Here we slept,’ she says. And he adds, ‘Kisses without number.’‘Waking in the morning--’‘Silver between the trees--’‘Upstairs--’‘In the garden--’‘When summer came--’‘In winter snowtime--’ The doors go shutting far in the distance, gently knocking like the pulse of a heart.Nearer they come, cease at the doorway. The wind falls, the rain slides silver down the glass. Our eyes darken, we hear no steps beside us; we see no lady spread her ghostly cloak. His hands shield the lantern. ‘Look,’ he breathes. ‘Sound asleep. Love upon their lips.’Stooping, holding their silver lamp above us, long they look and deeply. Long they pause. The wind drives straightly; the flame stoops slightly. Wild beams of moonlight cross both floor and wall, and, meeting, stain the faces bent; the faces pondering; the faces that search the sleepers and seek their hidden joy.‘Safe, safe, safe,’ the heart of the house beats proudly. ‘Long years--’ he sighs. ‘Again you found me.’‘Here,’ she murmurs, ‘sleeping; in the garden reading; laughing, rolling apples in the loft. Here we left our treasure--’Stooping, their light lifts the lids upon my eyes. ‘Safe! safe! safe!’ the pulse of the house beats wildly. Waking, I cry ‘Oh, is this your buried treasure? The light in the heart.’。

英语作文鬼屋A Haunted House。

As you step into the eerie darkness of the haunted house, a chill runs down your spine. The creaking floorboards beneath your feet and the whispering of the wind through the broken windows create an atmosphere of fear and anticipation. The air is thick with the scent of decay, and shadows dance menacingly on the walls. Welcome to the world of the haunted house, where the supernatural meets reality. The haunted house is a place that has captured the imaginations of people for centuries. It is a place where the line between the living and the dead is blurred, and where the spirits of the past roam freely. Legends and tales of ghostly encounters have been passed down through generations, adding to the mystique and allure of these haunted dwellings. One of the most famous haunted houses in the world is the Winchester Mystery House in California. Built by Sarah Winchester, the widow of the firearm magnate William Winchester, this sprawling mansion is said to be haunted by the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles. The house is a labyrinth of secret passageways, staircases that lead to nowhere, and rooms that are strangely shaped. It is believed that Sarah Winchester built these confusing features to confuse the spirits and protect herself from their wrath.Another well-known haunted house is the Borley Rectory in England. Built in the19th century, this house was plagued by strange occurrences and ghostly sightings. The most famous ghostly inhabitant of the rectory was the ghost of a nun, known as the "Borley Nun". She was said to have been murdered on the grounds of the rectory and her spirit still haunts the area to this day. The Borley Rectory was eventually destroyed by fire in 1939, but its haunted legacy lives on.Haunted houses have also been the inspiration for countless works of literature and film. From Edgar Allan Poe's "The Fall of the House of Usher" to Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting of Hill House", these stories have captivated readers with their tales of terrorand suspense. In recent years, haunted house movies such as "The Conjuring" and "Insidious" have become box office hits, further fueling our fascination with the supernatural. But what is it about haunted houses that continues to captivate us? Perhaps it is the thrill of the unknown, the adrenaline rush that comes from being scared. Or maybe it is the desire to explore the mysteries of the afterlife, to confront our fears and come out the other side stronger. Whatever the reason, the haunted house remains a symbol of our fascination with the supernatural and our longing for adventure. As you make your way through the dark corridors of the haunted house, you can't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. Every creak and groan of the old building sends shivers down your spine, and every flickering light casts eerie shadows on the walls. You know that at any moment, something unexpected could happen, and that is what makes the haunted house such a thrilling experience. In conclusion, the haunted house is a place that continues to capture our imagination and curiosity. Whether it is through legends and tales, real-life haunted mansions, or works of literature and film, the haunted house remains a symbol of our fascination with the supernatural. So, if you ever find yourself in the presence of a haunted house, embrace the fear and let yourself be transported into a world where the line between reality and the supernatural is blurred.。

It was a dark and stormy night. The wind howled outside, and the rain beat against the windows of the old, abandoned house. Sarah and her friends, Tom and Emma, had always been curious about the house at the end of the street. It was said to be haunted, and no one had lived there for years. But tonight, they had decided to finally explore it.As they entered the house, the air felt heavy and cold. The floorboards creaked beneath their feet, and the walls seemed to close in around them. They made their way through the dark, dusty rooms, their flashlights casting eerie shadows on the walls.Suddenly, they heard a faint whispering coming from the next room. Sarah's heart raced as they cautiously approached the source of the sound. As they entered the room, they were greeted by a chilling sight a ghostly figure, pale and translucent, floating in the air. They froze in fear as the ghostly figure spoke to them, telling them the tragic tale of how it had died in the house many years ago. It had been unable to find peace, and had remained trapped within the walls of the house ever since. The friends were terrified, but they knew they had to help the spirit find peace. They listened to its story, and promised to find a way to set it free. Are you ready, Carlos?Almost!Carlos? Was it...supposed to sound like that? NO WAY!! I don't get it! It looks incredible! Stupendous! But it sounds...''Ploopy''?Exactly! What did I do wrong?Wow! She's amazing! That's one way to look at it. . .Good morning, class!Good morning, Ms Frizzle.Dorothy Ann, I take it that was your new piece Concerto for Invented Instrument?Well, it was the concerto part, all right, but... but the Invented Instrument was ploopy! And there's almost no time to fix it before the concert at the Sound Museum tomorrow. Yeah, and we've got our rehearsal there this afternoon. So, what's the problem, Carlos?Well, I have a great idea for a sound --Ooh, and I see you're building an impressive instrument to make it! Marvelous! That's the problem. I can hear the sound in my head, but...PloopyWhat am I going to do?Well, if you keep asking questions, Carlos, you'll keep getting answers. But there's no time for questions, Ms. Frizzle. We're going to be late for the rehearsal at the sound museum. And, as we all know, those who are great arenever late!Come along, class! To the bus! We're going? Now? But... but... Ms. Frizzle. But what if the sound of Carlos's instrument stays...just like that?Oh, our concerto will be ruined. All the other schools will laugh at us and it'll be the end of the world as we know it. Other than that...nothing.What else can I put on this thing to get it to make a terrific sound?Let's see...Okay, there! If only I had more TIME!More time...Okay, bus, do your stuff! An award winning performance bus!Oh no!!And now for the grand finale! What happened?!Not to worry, class. I'll just be a moment. Oh dear...Just as I thought. Overheated. I believe we'll be here for a while. We're going to miss the dress rehearsal? Now rest up. You'll be fine. All right! Time to work on my sound.Ms. Frizzle, isn't there something we can do? Well, now that you mention it...It's really quiet, isn't it? There's hardly a sound.Just us. Desperate. Alone... Vulnerable... What was that?!It was me. How was that, Dorothy Ann?I want my instrument to have the power of athunderstorm, so I put an umbrella on it.That sounded more like drizzle, Carlos! How about this? Just like me! Well, Carlos, you'll have plenty of time to find it! We're spending the night. The night? Cornelia, if you're out there, will you help me make this thing sound right?Uh, Carlos? Ms Frizzle said if you kept asking questions, you'd keep getting answers.W-w-was that an answer...?No, but THAT was...Don't be silly. It’s just... There it is again! The Call of Cornelia! How do we get out of here? The only way is up!Come along, class. Two by two, please. Where are we?Professor Contralto built every roomin this house to show different things about sound.Ah! Simply soundniferous!Hey! I've always wanted to play a harp!Look at that string moving back and forth!! That, class, is a vibration! You can feel it! Vibration!Let's get the facts: When the string stopped vibrating, the sound stopped...!The vibration of the string -- THAT'S WHAT'S MAKING THE SOUND!Very good, Carlos! Sound is vibration! Hear it - feel it!Are ALL sounds made by something vibrating? Good question, Carlos!Come on, Phoebe! Let's try out that drum. There's your answer, Carlos. So I've got to make my instrument vibrate to make my sound. But how?As I always say, behind every successful sound is a vibration! What's happening? Now what?!YOW!Can I look now?Hey, it's showtime!!Why the glasses? You heard sound... you felt sound... now... Carlos? What is it??I CAN SEE SOUND!Watch this!!Look at me!!Listen!Hey, they're different!Yeah! When you sing...Look! There are lots of vibrations close together. But when you sing...there are fewer vibrations, further apart. Excellent! High sounds are made by something vibrating fast...And low by something vibrating slow...You know what? These vibrations move kindof like ripples on a pond...The waves start in one place and move out in all directions. If sound is a vibration and it moves through the air in waves...And different types of vibrations make different sounds!Stop the vibration, you stop the sound.I've got it! It doesn't matter how my instrument looks - as long as it can VIBRATE!DA, I know what to do! I've got to get my instrument! It's goneWhere could it be?There's an explanation, class. The question is, What is it?First Carlos's instrument disappears... then each of us.... one by one...There's that sound again. It's coming from in... here!!Carlos! Are you all right?I’m fine! I’m just in some sort of dungeon or something.Well, if they torture you, don't tell them anything!I'll learn to be a laeyer and meet you back here when we're grown-ups!This way, Arnold!let's go!Coming Arnold? We're waiting.I think I should've stayed home today... Thanks, Ms Frizzle.Don't mention it, Arnold.Well, Carlos. You got us into this. Any ideas how to get us out?ListenWhere's it coming from? It's hard to hear exactly. Wait here! It's coming from along there!He...he can't go down there alone! You're right, Keesha! Why don't you go with him?C'mon, you buncha weasly wimps!! Let's follow Ms Frizzle...You can see the soundwaves bouncing off the walls. There...from there...From there!Sound waves bouncing... I bet that's how an echo is made! Those soundwaves are travelling THROUGH that door!Good observation, Dorothy Ann!Just so long as we don't travel through that door. No! We've got to see what it is! Hello....It WAS you!Wait a minute! Is it just me or are you... are you a...?Professor Cornelia C. Contralto... the Second. That is my great-grandmother.Now, listen. You've got a concert tomorrow, right? Are you ready to make your instrument sound richly resonantand resoundingly reverberant?! Huh?How'd she know about Carlos's instrument? You asked a question...Let's see...Don't you mean let's hear....?Right! To make a sound, I need to make something vibrate. My instrument couldn't vibrate because there was too much stuff on it!Neither did that. I don't need this, pull this thing off.I think he has got it!Ready Carlos?Go!Bravo!! Virtuoso performance!Carlos, that was the perfect sound! Thanks, DA...And so, young man, if it's all right with you,I would like to add that wonderful sound to my grandmother's collection!Well, I couldn't have done it without you, Dr. Contralto...!As I always say -- hit it, Cornelia!!Is it the magic school bus?Is it the magic school bus?Is it the magic school bus?Is it the magic school bus?Is it the magic school bus?stay tune with us and be a smart kidHello? Magic School Bus.Hi. Are you the one responsible for that show on 'sound'?You might say that, yes...Well, what's the deal with that house?I mean, you could never see sound. It goes way too fast.Oh, you're right. That's why they had magic glasses.I don't get something,If sound is a vibration, just what's doing the vibrating? The air, a sound is made when something pushes back and forth from the air...and makes the air vibrate, this vibration travels through the air to your ear as a sound wave.So a loud sound is just a big vibration?Right! And a soft sound is a very tiny vibration. And what about our ears? You hardly mentioned them.Ears are very important. They turn sound waves into something our brain can handle. That's how you hear. But not everybody's ears work the same, do they?My grandmother wears a hearing aid to help her hear better. And some people can't hear anything, ever, even with a hearing aid. They use their brains with their other sensesto replace hearing. And another thing...there are lots of differences in sounds besides loudness and pitch.A violin and a saxophone sound very different, even when they're playing the same note. True! There are enough different kinds of sounds to fill the world, but we only had a half an hour...and we had to leave room for all those hilarious jokes.-Okay. But one last thing -Yes?About that ghost...Well, that can't have been true.I mean, everybody knows there's no such thing as ghosts...Certainly not!THE END。

The old house at the end of the street had been abandoned for years. It was rumored to be haunted by the ghost of its former owner, who had died a tragic death. The locals avoided it, and even the bravest of children dared not venture near it. But one day, a group of curious teenagers decided to explore the haunted house. As they approached the house, they could feel a chill in the air. The front door creaked open, as if inviting them inside. The teenagers hesitated, but their curiosity got the better of them. They cautiously stepped inside, their hearts pounding with fear. The interior of the house was dark and musty, with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The floorboards creaked under their feet, and the walls were covered in peeling wallpaper. As they explored the house, they heard strangenoises and saw shadowy figures moving in the corners of their eyes.Suddenly, a cold wind blew through the house, extinguishing their flashlights. The teenagers were plunged into darkness, with only the sound of their own breathing to keep them company. They huddled together, too scared to move.Just as they were about to give up hope, a faint light appeared in the distance. It grew brighter and brighter, until they could see the outline of a figure. It was the ghost of the former owner, who had come to haunt them. The teenagers screamed and ran for the door, but it was locked. The ghost laughed and taunted them, as they frantically searched for a way out. Just when they thought all was lost, the ghost disappeared, and the door unlocked itself. The teenagers stumbled out of the house, gasping for air. They looked back at the haunted house, which was nowsilent and still. They knew they had narrowly escaped the clutches of the ghost, and vowed never to return. From that day on, the haunted house remained abandoned and untouched. The locals whispered about the ghostlyfigure that haunted it, and children dared each other to sneak a peek inside. But no one ever ventured inside again, for fear of what lurked within its walls.。

Oh, the thrill of visiting a haunted house! Its an experience thats both terrifying and exhilarating, a rollercoaster of emotions that leaves you breathless and begging for more. I remember the day vividly, as if it were yesterday, when my friends and I decided to test our courage against the spooks of a haunted house. It was a crisp autumn evening, the kind that whispers tales of ghosts and goblins. The air was thick with anticipation as we approached the entrance, a creaky wooden door that seemed to have been plucked straight from a horror movie set. The sign above it read Enter at Your Own Risk, and the ominous words sent shivers down my spine.Inside, the atmosphere was a perfect blend of eerie and electrifying. The dimly lit corridors were adorned with cobwebs and fake spiders that seemed to come alive as we walked by. The walls were lined with old, tattered portraits, their eyes following us as we moved deeper into the house. The floorboards creaked under our feet, adding to the suspenseful ambiance. We were greeted by a ghostly figure, a man in a tattered suit with hollow eyes that seemed to pierce through us. He spoke in a voice that was both haunting and hypnotic, warning us of the horrors that awaited us. His words only fueled our curiosity, and with a mix of fear and excitement, we ventured further into the haunted house. The rooms were designed to play with our senses. One room was pitch black, forcing us to rely on our sense of touch and hearing. We felt ourway through the darkness, our hearts pounding in our chests as we anticipated the unknown. Suddenly, a chilling scream echoed through the room, and we jumped, clutching onto each other for comfort.Another room was filled with mirrors, distorting our reflections and creating the illusion of multiple figures lurking in the shadows. We couldnt help but glance over our shoulders, unsure of what was real and what was a trick of the light. The disorienting effect was both fascinating and terrifying. The climax of our haunted house adventure was a room that seemed to defy gravity. The floor was angled at a steep incline, and we had to hold onto ropes to keep from sliding back. As we struggled to climb, ghostly figures appeared from the walls, their hands reaching out to grab us. The combination of physical exertion and psychological terror was overwhelming, but we pushed through, determined to conquer our fears.Emerging from the haunted house, we were greeted by the relief of the outside world. The laughter and chatter of other visitors served as a stark contrast to the silence and terror we had just experienced. We exchanged stories of our encounters, each trying to outdo the other with tales of bravery and screams.Looking back, the haunted house was more than just a spooky attraction. It was a test of our courage and a reminder of the power of our imagination. It taught us that sometimes, the scariest monsters are the ones we create in our minds. And while the experience was terrifying, itwas also a bonding moment for us, a shared adventure that well never forget. So, if you ever find yourself at a haunted house, take a deep breath, hold your friends hands, and step into the unknown. Embrace the fear, let it wash over you, and then laugh it off when you come out the other side. Its an experience thats as much about facing your fears as it is about having fun. And who knows? You might just discover that youre braver than you thought.。

英语小作文鬼故事Once upon a time, in a small village nestled deep in the mountains, there was a house that was said to be haunted. The villagers were terrified of this house and believed that it was inhabited by a vengeful ghost. The house stood alone, surrounded by overgrown trees and bushes, with its windows boarded up and its roof covered in moss. No one dared to go near it, except for a brave young girl named Lily.Lily was known for her curiosity and fearlessness. She had heard the stories about the haunted house and decided to investigate it herself. One moonlit night, she gathered her courage and made her way towards the house. The wind howled through the trees, and the sound of her footsteps echoed in the silence. As she approached the house, the atmosphere became eerier. The creaking of the old wooden door sent shivers down her spine. With trembling hands, she pushed the door open and stepped inside. The interior was just as dilapidated as the exterior, with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and dust covering the furniture.Lily cautiously explored each room, her heart pounding in her chest. Suddenly, she heard a faint whisper coming from upstairs. Ignoring her fear, she climbed the stairs, determined to uncover the source of the sound. The whisper grew louder as she reached the top, leading her to a room at the end of the hallway.Pushing open the door, Lily gasped in horror. The room was filled with old photographs and tattered letters. As she picked up one of the letters, she realized that they were love letters between a young couple. The letters spoke of their undying love for each other and their plans for a future together.Lily's curiosity turned into sympathy as she read the letters. It seemed that the ghost haunting the house was not vengeful, but rather a lost soul longing for love. Determined to help the ghost find peace, Lily decided to investigate further. She visited the village library and spent hours researching the history of the haunted house. She discovered that the ghost was a woman named Emily, who had tragically diedin the house many years ago. Emily's lover had promised to marry her, but he never returned, leaving her heartbroken and alone.Armed with this knowledge, Lily returned to the haunted house. She lit candles and placed them around the room, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. She then spoke softly to Emily, telling her that she understood her pain and that it was time to let go.As Lily finished speaking, a gentle breeze filled the room, and the candles flickered. Suddenly, Emily's ghost appeared before her. She looked sad and lost, but also relieved. Lily reached out her hand, and Emily took it, her ghostly form slowly fading away. From that day on, the haunted house was no longer feared by the villagers. Instead, it became a symbol of love and forgiveness. Lily's bravery and compassion had not only helped a lost soul find peace but had also brought the community together. The story of Lily and the haunted house was passed down through generations, reminding everyone of the power of empathy and understanding. And as for Lily, she continued to explore and uncover mysteries, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.In conclusion, the haunted house turned out to be a place of longing and heartbreak. Lily's determination to uncover the truth and her compassion towards the ghost brought about a resolution that transformed the house from a symbol of fear to one of love and forgiveness. This story serves as a reminder that sometimes, the things we fear the most may just be in need of our understanding and empathy.。

I have always been fascinated by haunted houses. Thereis something thrilling about the idea of exploring a spooky, abandoned mansion or a creaky old building that is said to be inhabited by ghosts. I have visited several haunted houses over the years, and each one has its own unique atmosphere and history. One of the most memorable haunted houses I visited wasin New Orleans. The house was said to be haunted by the ghosts of former slaves who had been mistreated by the previous owners. As I walked through the house, I couldfeel a sense of unease and tension in the air. The creaking floorboards and flickering lights only added to the eerie atmosphere. I even thought I saw a shadowy figure out ofthe corner of my eye, but it could have just been myimagination.Another haunted house I visited was in England. Thisone was a medieval castle that had been abandoned for centuries. The castle was said to be haunted by the ghostof a former king who had been betrayed and murdered by his own family. As I walked through the castle, I could feel a sense of history and tragedy in the air. The stone wallsand dark corridors only added to the sense of foreboding. Haunted House
“Hey, hurry up!” Tom hastened in an anxious voice. Sherry hurriedly picked up a flashlight and kept up with Tom. They were going to the abandoned castle, which no one would get closed to.
After half an hour, they stood in front of the castle, Sherry clutching Tom’s hands.
A burst of wuthering wind swept their face. Suddenly the clunky door was creaking open. They stepped back and pricked up ears. There was dark everywhere. Only flashlight gave out the faint light. Tom carefully looked in with flashlight, but he could see nothing. Followed by Sherry, he stepped in. There was still nothing special except the old desks and chairs. “Hu…”they breathed a sigh of relief. But at this moment, “Boom…” The door closed. “Ah!” They screamed and seized each other’s hands immediately. They moved forward slowly, pricking up their ears.
After a while, a burst of wuthering wind swept their face again. “I saw you, I saw you…”A low voice rang through the air. Tom’s heart beat very fast and started to sweat. Sherry’s knees felt weak and started to sob. Tom took Sherry’s hand tightly to close to the half-open door. “I saw you, I saw you…”the ghastly voice was still resounding. Summoning up courage, Tom pushed the door quickly but gingerly. “Ah!” Sherry cried and sat up suddenly, seeing a headless body.
She woke up!。
