浅议利用warming—up优化课堂教学课堂教学是教学的主阵地,因此抓住课堂是提高教学效率的关键。
英语课的课堂教学结构,自从“五段教学法”被提出以来(Johann Friedrich Herbart,1776-1841)就一直沿用至今,并逐渐演变为今天大多数英语教师授课的框架:warming-up(热身),reading(阅读),presentation(呈现),practice(练习),homework (巩固)。
不同的教师由于自身的素质和个人喜好不同,上课方法的选择和课堂效率也不相同。
自然心中有一个问题:百花齐放,何法为佳?怎么样的课堂教学才最有效?经过不断的尝试和研究提高课堂教学有效性,从warming-up做起。
一、充分认识Warming-up的作用首先,教师要根据每个单元中Warming-up的内容,结合学生的心理特点以及他们的认知水平、情感需要,找准切入点,鼓励他们主动参与。
这样,才能够真正地把语言当作交际工具来运用,让学生通过体验和实验的过程学习语言,培养学生获取、处理和使用相关信息的能力,培养学生的语言表达能力,尤其是口头表达能力。
其次,Warming-up既是师生之间的交流,也是学生之间的交流。
这种交流既是语言信息的交流,也是情感信息的交流。
教师与学生之间的双向交流,有利于融洽师生关系,激活课堂氛围;而学生与学生之间的相互交流,有助于培养学生集体合作意识,变被动接受为主动参与,激发他们丰富的想像力和创新潜能,最大限度地提高课堂效率。
再之,Warming-up也有益于提高学生的书面表达能力,对于不容易口头表达的话题或图片,教师不妨主张学生课前互相讨论,把想表达的意思笔头写下来,这样课堂上师生交流就容易得多。
例如,Unit10 The World Around Us中的Warming-up部分,目的是通过三幅图片了解哪些动物正濒临灭绝和导致它们濒临灭绝的原因;认识保护野生动物的重要性和必要性,并探讨保护濒临灭绝动物的措施和建议。
不可忽视的“Warming-up”
不可忽视的“Warming-up”热身活动,即每节课教学活动开始时的第一个环节,Warming-up。
热身导入是传授新课的“序幕”,热身运动让学生们能从中集中精神,把注意力集中到课堂上。
同时,热身活动的内容也将为本节课的主要学习的内容作一铺垫。
它为培养学生兴趣,抓住学生心弦,优化学生心境,及新知识的探求、运用作了准备。
引人入胜的热身导入就如戏剧演出的“镇场”,它是教师与学生建立的第一座情感桥梁,既能吸引学生的注意力,又能激发起学生内在的求知欲,为新知识的学习做引子、做铺垫,为整堂课的和谐自然发展定下基调。
一.英语课前热身运动的重要性1.课前热身运动有助于激发学生的兴趣语言学习本身较为单调枯燥,如果一味坚持以教师的讲,领读,学生的听、跟读这种鹦鹉学舌式的教学形式,势必会让好动的孩子们学习兴趣荡然无存。
有人说兴趣是最好的老师,是学生学习动力取之不尽的源泉。
如何激发学生课堂中的学习兴趣?一个重要环节便是作好课前热身运动。
现在的小学英语教师大都能够提前踏进课堂,为上课设计板书,或抓紧时间和学生练口语,或唱几首英文歌曲来激发学生的学习兴趣。
学生听懂了并能对答如流,就会由衷地产生一股兴奋感和成功感。
这是最佳的课前热身,比我们常用的“Stand up, please.”这类千篇一律,陈旧呆板的开场白更能激发起学生的内在热情,投入课堂。
当上课铃响起时,教师走上讲台说:“Is it time for class?”“Are you ready?”等等课前这样的过渡,既吸引了学生的注意力,又找到了师生进入共同学习的良好契机。
英语作为一门技能课,需要时间去大量地听、说、读、写,但一星期三节课远远满足不了英语学习大容量的训练。
如何在每节课40分钟的时间内,让学生学到更多、学得更快、更准确,而且要学得有趣儿、有味儿,便成了小学英语教学的难点。
2.课前热身运动有助于缓解压力,放松心情对学生而言,学习新知识是很紧张的,需要注意力高度集中。

一、合作法让学生学会合作,培养合作精神与创新精神是英语教学任务之一。
教师在课堂上要善于为学生提供和创造合作机会,倡导和鼓励学生之间的合作。
例如,在江苏省中等职业学校使用的教材,英语第一册Unit 5 Warming Up的教学活动中,教师就可以利用所给出的图片完成填词游戏,同时也可以让学生自己设计出形式多样的知识性强且趣味性浓的填词游戏、猜词等活动来丰富课堂合作活动。
二、图形结合法现代教育技术包括电脑、音响、录音机、影碟机等多媒体设备,它们可以传输图像、声音、视频、动画等形形色色的信息,它们具有较强的感染力,能调动学生的感官刺激,激发对新知识的兴趣。
【例1】在英语第二册Unit 1 Going place中,阅读部分是有关哥本哈根、美国大峡谷的,在“热身”活动时,可以通过多媒体设备下载些著名的名胜风景、雕像图片,比如自由女神像、艾菲尔铁塔等图片,设计出相应的搭配连线题目,让学生边欣赏图片边了解西方国家的一些象征性建筑,同时也可以设计出表格,让学生来列举英美国家的地理概况。
【例2】在英语第一册Unit 11 Pop Music 和Unit 12 Films中,因为Unit 11的教学目标之一是让学生学会谈论Pop music,所以在Warming Up 这一环节的教学中,可以准备些乐器实物或模型让学生辨别欣赏(或让学生当堂演奏某种乐器,课堂效果更佳),也可通过下载各种类型的音乐供学生欣赏辨别。

例如我在新授牛津5Bunit8 At the weekends BC 板块时,我会在warming up 环节这样设计:“Boys and girls,I like taking photos,so I usually take photos on Saturday and Sunday.What do you usually do on Saturday and Sunday?”因为这个句型在5A以及本册书unit 4 已学,所以对于学生来说,回答并不难。
学生会说I usually........于是我会顺势导入Saturday and Sunday means weekend, on Saturday and Sunday means at the weekend?What do you usually do on Saturday and Sunday?we also can say How do you spend your weekend?这样,我不仅很自然的从warming up 导入到本课时新授知识,而且减轻了学生学习新知的难度,学生学得轻松自在。

其实,这一部分的作用不可小看。
可以说,抓好了这一部分,这节课就成功了一半。
下面笔者就warming up(热身)的作用和实施方法谈谈拙见,不当之处敬请各位同行及专家批评指正。
Warming up(热身)的作用一、warming up(热身)能够激发学生的学习兴趣。
一般说来,学生对难学的学科很难产生兴趣。
而在我们文化欠发达地区,英语是学生最怕的学科之一。
老师一进教室,学生就开始感到厌倦,有的讲话,有的打瞌睡,有的搞小动作。
在这种情况下,教师的情绪也会受到影响,准备得再好的课也上不好。
但如果教师能够搞好课前热身,调节学生情绪,激发学生学习积极性,情况就大不一样。
一首英文歌曲、一首英文小诗、一个小故事、幽默笑话、游戏等,都能激发学生的兴趣,使学生的注意力不知不觉地集中起来。
二、warming up(热身)能够调节学生情绪。
当学生情绪低落,精神萎靡不振,或者烦躁不安的时候,或者显得非常疲惫的时候,教师如果能利用好warming up(热身)的话,就能迅速调节学生情绪,使学生活跃起来,从而集中精力听课。
尤其是夏天下午的课和体育课后的英语课,更是如此。
这种时候,学生通常都显得非常疲倦,昏昏欲睡,如果教师不能调节学生的情绪,这课怎么上得下去?如果教师能利用warming up(热身)调节学生情绪,使学生兴奋起来,那么,这节课的效果比起按部就班就要好得多。

“Warming up”旨在鼓励学生自由讨论,大胆思考,激活学生已知的相关背景知识,补充必要的新的背景知识,启发学生对有关话题的思考和想象,帮助学生归纳已学的语言知识,为学生了解和讨论后续的话题及阅读作铺垫。
“Warming up”栏目设有多种形式的任务型活动,如对话、讨论、描述、填空、看图说话、回答问题、智力测验等。
可是,令人可惜的是目前很多教师没有充分利用好该部分,要么泛泛而提,一带而过;要么忽略过去,而未加以利用。
笔者经过几年教学,摸索出教学中可借鉴的“热身”方法有如下几方面。
情景性“热身”情景性是根据“热身”栏目的内容,设定学生参与或亲历了故事过程的情景,让学生感受其影响,阐述自己对故事的认识和观点,拓展学习思路和知识视野。
在第三单元“Warming up”栏目的四幅图中,教师可以帮助学生共同设定为:学生亲自参加了图中所展示活动,并目睹了同学、朋友、家人的社会行为;也可以帮助学生共同设定为“家庭郊外游”中所发生的一个整体故事,就“Driving beyond the speed limit”,“Littering in the public place”,“Smoking in the no smoking area”,“Parking on the road”的故事展开叙述和讨论。
学生作为故事的亲身经历者,感受会更加深刻,描述会更加生动逼真,叙述的思路和角度也会是多层次的。
拟人型“热身”把事物人格化,赋予它们人的思维和语言,与人类交流思想和情感,形象揭示事物的本质,使“热身”活动人性化。
环境保护,生态平衡,合理开发利用自然资源等全球关注的内容编进了教材。
第十单元“Warming up”栏目中的三幅图反映了人类对老虎、大熊猫、藏羚羊等珍稀野生动物面临人类的捕杀…… 将图中的野生动物拟人化后,针对野生动物面临人类捕杀,教师可以指导学生展开“A dialogue between a tiger/panda/Tibetan antelope and man”,“A dialogue between tigers /pandas/Tibetan antelopes”,“A dialogue between a tiger and a panda/antelope”等对话活动;也可以针对珍稀野生动物濒临灭绝的威胁,展开“A way out in face of being hunted/killed”,“We are part of the world”,“Defend our rights to live on”等话题活动。

课堂的开始是很重要的,它或多或少决定了这堂课的成功与否。
老师如果从上课一开始就把学生的注意力和兴趣都调动起来,接下来的教学工作就会容易得多。
不少英语老师经常会采用一些“warming-up”活动作为一堂课的开始,以提高教学效率。
“Warming-up”是英语教学开始时的预热活动,它具有激发、检测、指导、挑战、拓展、协调和情感育人等功能,丰富多彩的“warming-up”活动可以让孩子们一下子兴奋起来,一扫没精打采等消极情绪,对课堂学习充满了期待。
但是教师在面对丰富多彩的课堂活动时,一定要注意“warming-up”的有效性,牢记课堂活动是为教学目的服务的,应在教学目标的指引下,选择最有效的活动来进行“warming-up”。
下面我用几个课堂实例,谈谈如何将几种常见的“warming-up”环节变得高效。
一、问题Greeting 是课堂最常见的warm原ing-up 活动之一,它通过师生间的亲切问候,很快地拉近师生间的距离,消除学生对老师的恐惧感、陌生感,让学生在相对轻松的氛围下开始学习。

让英语课堂warming—up的小游戏1、“碰地雷”:在英语单词教学中,学生不太愿意跟读。
用此法不错.在一个词下放一个地雷,这个词是不能读的,如果学生不小心跟读,就是踩到雷了。
大家一起数one two three,bomb,向他砸过去!有趣,气氛也好,学生在玩中也学得扎实!2、补全句子:在学习句中,要慢读,必要时分解读。
在跟读几遍后,可以让学生补全老师没说完的部分。
比如:my name is rebecca.可让学生补rebecca、is rebecca、name is rebecca.这是个反应练习,可让学生熟练掌握句子。
3、、此呼彼应:(1)全班学生坐在原位. (2)教师描述一些事物,如果的是对的,例如:The dusks are swimming.学生就学叫“嘎嘎”,如果的是错的,学生就保持沉默。
