如:①5W+H:who,what,when,where,why,how;②时间先后:first,then,after that,next,finally;③因果:because,thus,lead to,caused by,as a result of;④比较:similarly,differently,like,unlike,but,while,however,instead,on the contrary。

如:the citizens' longer living代替the longer living of the citizens(2)词性转换。

Taking a gap year and going to university offer valuable experience in similar ways... Similarities between taking a gap year and going to university...(3)句子结构转换。

One likely development will be a gradual change in the family unit;the other likely development will be a change in the proportion of the nation's workforce.

Developed by two doctors in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, it’s an excellent water collector. Unfortunately, you must carry the necessary equipment with you, since it’s all but impossible to find natural substitutes. The only c omponents required, though, are a 5' 5' sheet of clear or slightly milky plastic, six feet of plastic tube, and a container— perhaps just a drinking cup — to catch the water. These pieces can be folded into a neat little pack and fastened on your belt.To construct a working still, use a sharp stick or rock to dig a hole four feet across and three feet deep. Try to make the hole in a damp area to increase the water catcher’s productivity. Place your cup in the deepest part of the hole. Then lay the tube in place so that one end rests all the way in the cup and the rest of the line runs up — and out — the side of the hole. Next, cover the hole with the plastic sheet, securing the edges of the plastic with dirt and weighting the sheet’s center down wit h a rock. The plastic should now form a cone(圆锥体) with45-degree-angled sides. The low point of the sheet must be centered directly over, and no more than three inches above, the cup.The solar still works by creating a greenhouse under the plastic. Ground water evaporates (蒸发) and collects on the sheet until small drops of water form, run down the material and fall off into the cup. When the container is full, you can suck the refreshment out through the tube, and won’t have to break down the still eve ry time you need a drink.33. What does the underlined phrase “the water catcher” in paragraph 2 refer to?A. The tube.B. The still.C. The hole.D.

An 80-year-old man was sitting on the sofa in his house along with his 45-year-old highly educated son.Suddenly a crow perched on the tree near their window. The father asked his son, “What is this?”The son replied, “It is a crow.”After a few minutes, the father asked his son the second time, “What is this?”The son said, “Father, I have just now told you. It is a crow!”After a little while, the old father again asked his son the third time, “What is this?”“It’ s a crow, a crow, a crow!” said the son loudly.A little after, the father again asked his son the fourth time, “What is this?”This time the son shouted at his father, “Why do you keep asking me the same question again and again?’ IT IS A CROW’. Are you not able to understand this?”A little later the father went to his room and came back with an old diary, which he had kept since his son was born. On opening a page, he asked his son to read that page. When the son read it, the following words were written in the diary:“Today my little son aged three was sitting with me on the sofa, when a crow was sitting on the window. My son asked me 23times what it was, and I replied to him all 23times that it was crow. I hugged him lovingly each time he asked me the same question again and again for 23times. I did not at all feel annoyed; I rather felt affection for my innocent child.”5.What does the underlined word “perched” mean in the passage?A.knocked B.hitC.landed D.flew2.C【湖北省华中师范大学第一附属中学2017届高三上学期期中考试】BEIJING—The launch of a new manned space mission brings China closer to the establishment of a permanent space station, international experts say.Chinese taikonauts, Jing Haipeng, 50, and Chen Dong, 37, were blasted off into space onboard Shenzhou-11 at 7:30 am Monday and will spend 30 days in the Chinese space laboratory Tiangong-2. The launch marks a key step toward China's plan to eventually operate a permanent space station, The successful launch of the Shenzhou-11 spacecraft is another step forward to put China among leading players in space technology, said Alexander Zheleznyakov, a Russian expert on history of space flights. China's experimental space lab will help provide solutions for spacecraft of different functions to approach and anchor, and for a long-term operation of life support system, said Zheleznyakov. Shenzhou-11 is scheduled to anchor on Wednesday with Tiangong-2, which is part of China's plan to build a permanent space station by 2022.China can now test technologies for cargo spacecraft anchoring, life support system operation and waterrecycling to ensure a long-term continuous operation of its space station in the future with less dependence on renewal from the Earth, he said. If all goes well, China will launch the unpiloted Tianzhou-1cargo ship next spring to autonomously tie up with Tiangong-2. Tianzhou-1will be capable of automatically transferring rocket fuels, a vital requirement for space station grouping and maintenance, according to a report by Columbia Broadcasting System(CBS).“That will further their anchoring abilities needed for the larger space station,” Johnson Freese was quoted. “Tiangong-2 is supposed to be able to stay in orbit for two years or longer, so that's taking them (Chinese)really close to 2019 or so. I think this will be their last big technology test phase before going to their large space station,” said Freese.31.Which of the following can repl ace the underlined phrase “blasted off” in last paragraph?A.sent up B.gave away C.swept off D.carried away3.B【山东省枣庄市第三中学2017届高三9月质量检测】It has always been thought that alcohol causes people to put on weight because it contains a lot of sugar, but new research suggests a glass a day cold form part of a diet. Looking at past studies they found that, while heavy drinkers do put on weight; those who drink in moderation can actually lose weight.A spokesman for the research team at Navarro University in S pain says, “Light to moderate alcohol intake, especially of wine, may be more likely to protect against, rather than promote, weight gain.” The International Scientific Forum on Alcohol research reviewed the findings and agreed with most of the conclusions, particularly that data do not clearly indicate if moderate drinking increases weight.Boston University’s Dr. Harvey Finkel found that the biologic mechanisms(生物学机制)relating alcohol to changes in body weight are not properly understood. His team pointed out the strong protective effects of moderate drinking on the risk of getting conditions like diabetes(糖尿病), which relate to increasing obesity. Some studies suggest that even very obese people may be at lower risk of diabetes if they are moderate drinkers. The group says alcohol provides calories that are quickly absorbed into the body and are not stored in fat, and that this process could explain the differences in its effects from those of other foods. They agree that future research should be directed towards assessing the roles of different types of alcoholic drinks, taking into consideration drinking patterns and including the past tendency of participants to gain weight. For now there is little evidence that consuming small to moderate amounts of alcohol on a regular basis increases one’s risk of becoming obese. What’s more, a study three years ago suggested that resveratrol, a compound present in grapes and red wine destroys fat cells.25.The underlined phrase “in moderation” in the first paragraph me ans_________.A.excitedly B.carefully C.frequently D.properly4.【黑龙江省大庆实验中学2017届高三上学期期中考试】One form of social prejudice against older people is the belief that they cannot understand or use modern technology. Activities like playing computer games, going on the Net and downloading MP3s are only for the youngsters. Isn’t it unfair that older people enjoying a computer game should be frowned(皱眉)upon by their children and grandchildren?Nowadays older people have more control over their lives and they play a full part in society. Moreover, better health care has left more people in their sixties and seventies feeling fit and active after retirement. Mental activity, as well as physical exercise, can contribute to better health. Playing computer games is a very effective way of exercising the brain. When personal computers were first introduced, most older people didn’t believe they would ever familiarize themselves with it. Now computers have been around for a few generations and retired people have gradually become more relaxed about using them for fun. Gamers over 65 prefer playing puzzle games and card games. Kate Stevens, aged 72, says:“I find it very relaxing. It’s not very demanding, but you still need to concentrate.”Another development that has f avored “grey games” is a change in the type of videogames available on the market. There’s a greater variety of games to choose from, including more intellectual and complex strategy(策略)and simulation(模拟)games. Internet Chess and Train Simulator are among the most popular of these. Train Simulator is based on real-world rail activities. Players can choose from a variety of challenges, such as keeping to a strict-timetable and using helper engines during a winter storm. Some people argue that “grey gamers” simply don’t have the skills required for computer games, and that teenagers are better. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Most computer games require the kind of analytical thinking that improves with practice, which means that the “grey gamers” may well be far better than gamers half a century younger than them. In games where speed is the main consideration, older people would be at a disadvantage because they may have slower reaction times. On the other hand, “grey gamers” have a preference for slower paced, mind challenging games.4.By saying “This couldn’t be further from the truth.” in Paragraph 5, the author means_________.A.mind challenging games are not suitable for older peopleB.children should improve their skills with practiceC.playing computer games requires analytical thinkingD.older people can perform well in some computer games5.【黑龙江省双鸭山市第一中学2017届高三9月月考】One day a mime(哑剧演员)is visiting the zoo and tries to earn some money as a street performer. As soon as he starts to draw a crowd, a zookeeper pulls him into his office. The zookeeper explains that the zoo’s most popular attraction, a gorilla(大猩猩), has died suddenly and the keeper fears that attendance(出席人数)at the zoo will fall off. He offers the mime a job to dress up as the gorilla. The mime accepts. The next morning the mime puts on the gorilla suit and enters the cage before the crowd comes. He soon discovers he can sleep, play and make fun of people and he draws bigger crowds than he ever did as a mime — the job he likes but loses. However, with days going by, he begins to notice that the people are paying more attention to the lion in the cage next to his. Not wanting to lose the attention of his audience, he climbs to the top of his cage, crawls across a partition(隔墙), and dangles(悬挂)from the top to the lion’s cage. The lion gets angry at this. The scene is a fuel to the crowd. At the end of the day he is given a raise for being such a good attraction — well, this continues for some time. The crowds grow larger, and th e mime’s pay keeps going up.Then one day when he is dangling over the lion he slides and falls. The mime is terrified. He starts screaming “Help me!”, but the lion is quick. The mime soon finds himself flat on his back looking up at the angry lion and th e lion says, “Shut up you fool! Do you want to get us both fired?”24.The underlined words “a fuel” in Paragraph 3can be replaced by __________.A.frightening B.disappointing C.familiar D.exciting高考英语专题练习(六)阅读理解Ⅳ:词义猜测题(测)解析1.2.3.4.5.。

说理议论+社会文化+应用广告+逸闻趣事A(2017·四川乐山调研)When people around you agree with you,it improves your confidence and allows you to relax and feel comfortable.Unfortunately, that comfort usually keeps you away from achieving more success in your career, especially when you are in a leader position. So it feels nice to have people agree, but you need some regular conflicts, that is to say,to have people raise different views so that you can dig out the deeper truth and avoid suffering from being too much on just one side.So do you often share your opinions on most subjects with people around you and encourage them to debate? If yes,set it as a tradition in your company or department. At first,it seems a challenge to create an environment where people are in free atmosphere to disagree and argue, but remember:from sharp conflicts come sound judgments, and from sound judgments come right decisions. That’s because most of the time you have to collect different opinions from different angles to help yourself identify your blind spots before you form the real brilliant ideas. However, effective debates do not require angry quarrels and embarrassments. So you need to set some ground rules so everyone understands responsibilities, boundaries and rewards.Rule No.1:The goal of debating is not to win over others but to get to the truth that will allow you and your staff to move faster and better.Rule No.2:Fierce debating with strong emotion hurts feelings and does harm to teamwork. So repeatedly remind your staff, best with smiles and humors, that this is friendly opinion sharing time for a common goal instead of a battle between two enemies trying with full efforts to beat the other one down to earth.Rule No.3:All those involved in the debates shall get rewards when the goals are reached, thus they know how much you appreciate their contributions. The more they feel appreciated, the more they’ll be willing to contribute their talents with full heart in the future.1.What happens when your staff all agree with you?A.It may improve your work effectively.B.It creates harmonious working atmosphere.C.You are likely to make more right decisions.D.You may have problems in career advancing.

I】CSome of the world’s most famous musicians recently gathered in Paris and New Orleans to celebrate the first annual International Jazz Day. UNESCO( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) recently set April 30 as a day to raise awareness of jazz music, its significance, and its potential as a unifying(联合) voice across cultures.Despite the celebrations, though, in the U.S. the jazz audience continues to shrink and grow older, and the music has failed to connect with younger generations. It’s Jason Moran’s job to help change that. As the Kennedy Center’s artistic adviser for jazz, Moran hopes to widen the audience for jazz, make the music more accessible, and preserve its history and culture.“Jazz seems like it’s not really a part of the American appetite,〞 Moran tells National Public Radio’s reporter Neal Conan. “What I’m hoping to accomplish is that my generation and younger start to reconsider and understand that jazz is not black and write anymore. It’s actually color, and it’s actually digital.〞Moran says one of the problems with jazz today is that the entertainment aspect of the music has been lost. “The music can’t be presented today the way it was in 1908 or 1958. It has to continue to move, because the way the world works is not the same,〞 says Moran.Last year, Moran worked on a project that arranged Fats Waller’s music for a dance party, “Just to kind of put it back in the mind that Waller is dance music as much as it is concert music,〞 says Moran. “For me, it’s the recontextualization. In music, where does the emotion(情感) lie? Are we, as humans, gaining any insight(感悟) on how talk about ourselves and how something as abstract as a Charlie Parker record gets us into a dialogue about our emotions and our thoughts? Sometimes we lose sight that the music has a wider context,〞says Moran, “so I want to continue those dialogues. Those are the things I want to foster.〞29.What does the underlined word “that〞 in paragraph 3 refer to?A.Jazz becoming more accessible.B.The production of jazz growing faster.C.Jazz being less popular with the young.D.The jazz audience becoming larger.2.[2016·全国卷Ⅰ]CI am Peter Hodes, a volunteer stem cell courier. Since March 2012, I've done 89 trips—of those, 51 have been abroad. I have 42 hours to carry stem cells(干细胞) in my little box because I've got two ice packs and that's how long they last. In all, from the time the stem cells are harvested from a donor(捐献者) to the time they can be implanted in the patient, we've got 72 hours at most. So I am always conscious of time.I had one trip last year where I was caught by a hurricane in America. I picked up the stem cells in Providence, Rhode Island, and was meant to fly to Washington then back to London. But when I arrived at the checkin desk at Providence, the lady on the desk said: “Well, I'm really sorry, I've got some bad news for you—there are no fights from Washington.〞 So I took my box and put it on the desk and I said:“In this box are some stem cells that a re urgently needed for a patient—please, please, you've got to get me back to the United Kingdom.〞 She just dropped everything. She arranged for a flight on a small plane to be held for me, rerouted(改道) me through Newark and got me back to the UK even earlier than originally scheduled. For this courier job, you're consciously aware that in that box you've got something that is potentially going to save somebody's life.29. 【关键字】高考模式4| 词义猜测题Freedom and ResponsibilityFreedom's challenge in the Digital Age is a serious topic. We are facing today a strange new world and we are all wondering what we are going to do with it.Some 2,500 years ago Greece discovered freedom. Before that there was no freedom. There were great civilizations, splendid empires, but no freedom anywhere.Egypt and Babylon were both tyrannies, one very powerful man ruling over helpless masses. In Greece,in Athens (雅典),a little city in a little country, there were no helpless masses. And Athenians willingly obeyed the written laws which they themselves passed, and the unwritten, which must be obeyed if free men live together. They must show each other kindness and pity and the many qualities without which life would be very painful unless one chose to live alone in the desert. The Athenians never thought that a man was free if he could do what he wanted.A man was free if he was self-controlled.To make yourself obey what you approved was freedom. They were saved from looking at their lives as their own private affair. Each one felt responsible for the welfare of Athens, not because it was forced on him from the outside, but because the city was his pride and his safety. The essential belief of the first free government in the world was liberty for all men who could control themselves and would take responsibility for the state. But discovering freedom is not like discovering computers. It cannot be discovered once for all.If people do not prize it,and work for it,it will go.Constantwatch is its price.Athens changed. It was a change that took place without being noticed though it was of the extreme importance,a spiritual change which affected the whole state. It had been the Athenian's pride and joy to give to their city. That they could get material benefits from her never entered their minds. There had to be a complete change of attitude before they could look at the city as an employer who paid her citizens for doing her work. Now instead of men giving to the state, the state was to give to them. What the people wanted was a government which would provide a comfortable life for them; and with this as the primary object, ideas of freedom and self-reliance and responsibility were neglected to the point of disappearing.Athens was more and more looked on as a cooperative business possessed of great wealth in which all citizens had a right to share.Athens reached the point when the freedom she really wanted was freedom from responsibility.There_could_be_only_one_result.If men insisted on being free from the burden of self-dependence and responsibility for the common good, they would cease to be free.Responsibility is the price every man must pay for freedom. It is to be had on no other terms.Athens, the Athens of Ancient Greece, refused responsibility; she reached the end of freedom and was never to have it again.65.What does the underlined word “tyrannies” in Paragraph 2 refer to?A.Countries where their people need help.B.Powerful states with higher civilization.C.Splendid empires where people enjoy freedom.D.Governments ruled with absolute power.68.What does the sentence “There could be only one result.” in Paragraph 5 mean?A.Athens would continue to be free.B.Athens would cease to have freedom.C.Freedom would come from responsibility.D.Freedom would stop Athens from self-dependence.65.D [词义猜测题。

In the laboratory, chimps don't naturally share food either. If a chimp is put in a cage where he can pull in one plate of food for himself or,with no greater effort,a plate that also provides food for a neighbor in the next cage,he will pull at random— he just doesn't care whether his neighbor gets fed or not.Chimps are truly selfish.

常见的信号词有:or, namely, that is, in other words, that is to say, to be more exact, to put it another way等。
举例常用的信号词有:such as, such ...as, for example, for instance, like, including, especially等。 [示例] (2016·全国卷Ⅲ阅读D) Readers also tended to share articles that were exciting or funny, or that inspired negative feelings like anger or anxiety, but not articles that left them merely sad.
E) If you’re tired of
wandering around the gym wasting time and becoming bored, you can attend an upbeat group fitness class that’ll

模式4| 词义猜测题[典例1] (2015·江苏高考·D节选)Freedom and ResponsibilityFreedom's challenge in the Digital Age is a serious topic. It cannot be discovered once for all.If people do not prize it,and work for it,it will go.Constant watch is its price.Athens changed. It is to be had on no other terms.Athens, the Athens of Ancient Greece, refused responsibility; she reached the end of freedom and was never to have it again.65.What does the underlined word “tyrannies” in Paragraph 2 refer to?A.Countries where their people need help.B.Powerful states with higher civilization.C.Splendid empires where people enjoy freedom.D.Governments ruled with absolute power.68.What does the sentence “There could be only one result.” in Paragraph 5 mean?A.Athens would continue to be free.B.Athens would cease to have freedom.C.Freedom would come from responsibility.D.Freedom would stop Athens from self-dependence.65.D[词义猜测题。

论证部分运用if从句进行假设,最后总结出she reached the end of freedom and was never to have it again,所以只有B项的内容符合,选项中的cease to have freedom相当于be never to have it。

A项和第五段中的they would cease to be free相违背;C项不是结果;D项是对If men insisted on being free from the burden of self-dependence and responsibility for the common good...

][典例2] (2014·江苏高考·D节选)Before I was two,I was adopted by an Anglo couple.Fed three square meals a day,I grew like a wild weed and grasped all the opportunities they had to offer—books, music, education, church life and community activities. In a family of blue-eyed blonds,though,I_stood_out_like_a_sore_thumb.Whether from jealousy or fear of someone who looked so different,my older brothers sometimes teased me about my unpleasing skin,or made fun of my clumsy walk.Moody and impatient, burdened by fears that none of us realized resulted from my early years of need,I was not an easy child to love.My mother and I conflicted countless times over the years, but gradually came to see one another as real human beings with faults and talents, and as women of strength in our own cking a mirror image in the mother who raised me,I had to seek my identity as a woman on my own.The Asian American community has helped me regain my double identity....I lost my Chinese name for 18 years. It was Americanized for convenience to “Sue.”But like an ill-fitting coat,it made me uncomfortable.I hated the name. But even more,I hated being Chinese. It took many years to become proud of my Asian origin and work up the courage to take back my birth-name.That,plus a little knowledge of classroom Cantonese,is all the Chinese culture I have to offer you.Not white, certainly, but not really Asian,I try to pave the way between the two worlds and bridge the gap for you.Your name,“Shao-ming,”is very much like mine—“Shao”means “little.”And “ming” is “bright,” as in a shining sun or moon.Whose lives will you brighten, little Maya?Your_past_is_more_complete_than_mine,and each day I cradle you in your babyhood, generously giving you the loving care I lacked for my first two years. When I pat you,I comfort the lost baby inside me who still cries for her mother.67.What does “I stood out like a sore thumb” in Paragraph 5 mean?A.I walked clumsily out of pains.B.I was not easy to love due to jealousy.C.I was impatient out of fear.D.I looked different from others.70.By “Your past is more complete than mine,” Mommy means________.A.her past was completed earlier than Shao-ming'sB.Shao-ming has got motherly care and a sense of rootsC.her mother didn't comfort her the way she did Shao-mingD.her past was spent brokenly, first in Asia, then in the US,67.D[词义猜测题。
