As the questionnaire shows us, there are 10 questions to be answered.52 people have involved in the questionnaire. The results are as follows:
About 60 percent of the participants are under 20 years old, and about 38 percent are more than 30 years of age. Just 2 percent of the participants are between 25 and 30 years old. More than half of the participants are women.
We find that over 80 percent of the participants are non-smokers from the third question. And we are amazed to know that all the smokers we have interviewed have been smoking more than two years. From the forth question we can learn that 90 percent of the participants don’t support smoking. Nevertheless, nearly half of the participants say there is someone who smokes in their families.
We also ask them whether they think it is possible to ban smoking in China or not, and we find nearly 70 percent of the participants say impossible. Most of them think smoking ban is not effective especially in some places, like streets、parks or even communities. However, over 65 percent of the participants are in support of smoking ban being compelled to carry out in China.
At the end of the questionnaire, we let the participants write down their own ideas about the smoking ban in China. Their thoughts are
various but have connotations.
分析:
From what we have discussed above, we may conclude that numerous people understand and support the smoking ban in China, and a small number of non-smokers have intense thought that China should ban smoking. Just several smokers are against the smoking ban in China. However, most people who support the smoking ban have less or no confidence that the smoking ban will be carried out effectively. They think China’s lack of conditions is a reason why they are passive about the smoking ban. No one can deny that China has a large population and China’s tobacco industry is very developed. If China enforce the smoking ban, many people may lose their jobs and our economic development may also be affected. We support the smoking ban be carried out in China, definitely. But we still need more time to think about what we should do or prepare.
我的观点:
Agree with what is widely supported, I maintain that China should carry out a smoking ban. Just like most of the participants, I think we should take measures on smoking which not only hurts smokers’ lungs but also has bad effect on other’s health. Obviously it seems impossible
to ban smoking in China now, but we can’t say what will happen in the future. I have great confidence that once we make sufficient preparation like limit the tobacco industry and inform people of the smoking ban in advance in order to let them have a mental preparation, we will make progress in this area. What’s more, we should adjust measures to local conditions so that more and more people can better accept this rule. As an old saying goes, ‘Where there is a will, there is a way’. Ban smoking is a big trend, we will succeed in the end.
