Part B Let's read. First, let me talk about the teaching material.Part 1. Teaching Material:This lesson is about traffic rule topic. By study of this lesson, the Ss know the traffic rules in every country. The sentence patterns of this lesson In China/the USA, drivers drive on the right side of the road. In England and Australia, however, drivers drive on the left side of the road.are the key and difficult points of this unit. The study of this lesson will help the Ss with daily communication.Therefore, on studying the teaching material and analyzing the regulation of children’s growing of mind, I put forward the teaching objectives according to English syllabus and new lesson standard.1. Perception objective:a) I can hear, read, and use the main sentence patterns “ In China/the USA, drivers drive on the right side of the road. In England and Australia, however, drivers drive on the left side of the road.”b) I can understand and read the conversation of the lesson.2. Ability objective:a) I can use the sentence pattern to talk about the traffic rules in every country.b) I can find and talk about the differences in every country.3. Emotion objective:a) By completing the task, I increase my interest and set upself-confidence in language study;b) Through the autonomous learning and cooperative learning, training students' positive emotion attitude, form effective learning strategies The key points of this lesson:First of all, to study and use the sentence patterns “ In China/the USA, drivers drive on the right side of the road. In England and Australia, however, drivers drive on the left side of the road.”.To improve the Ss’ abilities in talking about the “traffic rule”;Secondly, teach the Ss how to study independently as well as by cooperation.Difficult points:The Ss can use the words and patterns to describe the the traffic rules in every country.Well, how to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points? The key is how to make use of the proper teaching methods, I’ll talk about my teaching methods below.Part 2. Teaching Methods:According to the modern perception theories and social intercourse teaching theories, I adopt the TSA method and in my teaching, namely Total Situational Action and Task-based Language Teaching.The former is a “scene —activity” teaching method .It establishes a real scene and the interaction between the teacher and the Ss .It emphasizes a dynamic information exchange between the teacher and Ss.The latter offers the Ss an opportunity to complete the tasks in which Ss use language to achieve a specific outcome. The activity reflects real life and learnersfocus on meaning, they are free to use any language they want.At the same time, make use of the modern electricity teaching equipments and all kinds of teaching means, it can mobilize the Ss’ enthusiasm and creativity in learning English.Part 3. Studying Methods:Let Ss study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere. Ss understand the new knowledge in certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing, saying, observing, imagining , thinking etc. And make preparation for completing the new study task.After feeling and comprehending the language points, let Ss obtain the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study. Thereby, develop the Ss’ abilities of studying and working with the learning language independently.Part 4. Teaching Process:In order to realize the teaching process systematically, properly and efficiently, under the principle of “regard Ss as the corpus, the teacher inspires for predominance”, I divide the teaching process into five steps.Step1. Warm-up.1. Introduce the learning goals and assessment.2. Game: Jump rabbits danceT: Left-Right-Go-Turn around- Go, go, go.So as to the psychological characteristics of children,playing a game can make Ss feel pleased and satisfied, and can arouse exciting motion. In this step , teacher and the Ss play together. Thus,review the sentence pattern “left, right, turn left, turn right.” And arouse the Ss' performance desire, participation desire,and lead the Ss into a thick English studying atmosphere.Step2. Pre-reading.1. Let’s chant:It’s a green light.I can go. Go-go-go!It’s a yellow light. I must wait. Wait-wait-wait!It’s a red light. I must stop. Stop-stop-stop!The students chant and do the actions together.2. Let’s doa. T: Red/Yellow/Green. Ss: Wait/Go/Stop.b. T: Wait/Go/Stop. Ss: Red/Yellow/Green.c.T: This is my left hand. Show me your left hand. Show me your right hand. The Ss do the actions .It considers that children can keep their attentions in limited time. The game can avoid the lifelessness and boredom from the pure machine drills .It creates the conditions of a relaxed and natural atmosphere for children’s drills. Then achieve the aim of consolidating and deepening the sentence pattern.3. T: Now I’m walking on the right side of the road.I know the traffic rules. Do you think so?(Write: Walk on the right side of the road.Walk on the left side of the road.) T: Which is right and which is wrong?T: In different countries, the traffic lights are the same ,but the traffic rules are different. Look at the screem, look and listen carfully. Circle the word you don’t understand.It reappears the relevant text by broadcasting the VCD, let Ss know the text contents with a combination of audio and video, words and pictures, which cater to the characteristics of primary period to be curious andpursuing interest and freshness.In this course, Ss can understand the main contents of this dialogue and get the key points by scene demonstration.Step3. Today my teaching topic is unit 1 how do you go there?My teaching plan has 5 parts. They are teaching material, students’ analysis and learning strategies, teaching methods and teaching aids, teaching procedure and blackboard design. Now, I’ll introduce them one by one.Part 1: Teaching material.First, the status and functionThis unit is from Book5 of PEP Primary English. The topic of this unit is ways to go somewhere.Each unit has 3 sections. In section A we are provided with the sentence patterns on this topic. Section 2 is an extension and section C is a consolidation with pronunciation practice.Next, it is Teaching objectives. It has knowledge, ability and moral objectives.First, knowledge objective. Basically, in this unit, students should try their best to master some new words, useful expressions and structures.Second, ability objective. To some extent, students will make progress in listening, speaking, reading and writing.Third, moral objective. In language learning, it plays an important role. In this unit, the moral objective is to make choices among different transportations.Then Teaching key points and difficulties. The key points of this unit are some new words, expressions and structures. The difficulties are how to apply them into their daily life.Part 2 Students analysis and learning strategiesMost of the students of grade 5in primary school are 12years old. They are active, talkative and creative and they are good at memorizing, imitating and performing.So I mainly use inquiry learning and cooperative learning in my class. Through these two learning strategies, we can cultivate students spirit of cooperation, communication, innovation and competition.Part3 Teaching methods and Teaching aids.In my teaching plan, I mainly use task-based teaching method. It recommends experience, practice, participation and cooperation to achieve mission objectives. Besides, I also employ Situational Teaching Method. and Communicative teaching method. Various contexts will be set vividly. And different topics will also be brought up for discussionWell, it’s time to talk about Teaching aids. To get a better teaching effeciveness, I will make use of multimedia to assist my class. Besides, some real objects, cartoons, pictures, recordings and charts will also be helpful.Part 4Teaching procedure.It’s the most important part ---- It has 5 steps. They are warm up, presentation, practice, consolidation and homework.Step 1:warm upAt the beginning of the class, I will sing an English song. In this way, students attention will be attracted immediately, at the same time, it’s also a good way to make my class lively and interesting.Step 2: PresentationIn this step, I will show some pictures of transportations, eg by bike, bus, train, subway, on foot.In this way, the new words of this unit will be introduced naturally and easily. After that, I will lead in the sentence patterns “how do you go to school?”by describing my own way. Eg. I go to school by bus. Well, how do you go to school? After this activity, students will have a better understanding about today’s target language.Step 3: PracticeFist, I will practice the new words by repeated reading and various games, eg high and low voice, and do- and-say .Second, I will play the tape recorder, students should get to know the main idea and finish the corresponding exercise. Then they will be encouraged to make a dialogue with their deskmates.Third, I wil show them some pictures of people and ways to school or work. According to the pictures, they can practice today’s target language.Step 4: consolidationStudents are encouraged to work in groups. They are requested to make a survey on their way to school. Later, each group choose one to give a report on it. In this way, the target language of unit is enhanced well.Step 5:HomeworkAfter school, students need to write a passage about the ways to go somewhere.Part 5: Blackboard DesignThis is my blackboard design.
